Welcome to the potential final edition of new everyday players for the 2022 season…that is if there are no new names worthy of discussing for the final four games of the season next week!
Welcome to the potential final edition of new everyday players for the 2022 season…that is if there are no new names worthy of discussing for the final four games of the season next week!
With a week and a half left, playing time is king. With all the recent promotions and new hitters joining starting lineups, it’s easy to miss one or multiple new faces. So let’s get back to reviewing new everyday players as we finish out the 2022 season.
Last week, I discussed players from four teams to bump up in value as their teams were scheduled to play seven games. I realized that my local CBS league in which I commish for is actually combining this week with next week’s half week, so we’re no longer comparing seven game teams to five game teams. Instead, we’re looking at teams that are scheduled to play as many as 10 games versus some teams only scheduled for eight games.
As we head toward the final week and a half of the season, we have one more full week for weekly transaction leaguers to ponder. While this current week included two teams with eight games and no teams with fewer than six, next week features teams playing between five and seven games. Let’s review which teams to more highly consider their players (seven gamers) and which teams you should consider alternatives (five gamers). Below are the teams in each group, plus a handful of players that should get a relative boost in value and aren’t heavily owned, along with borderline players who should see a relative reduction in value.
The Rockies finish out their seven game homestand with a three game series against the Padres beginning on Friday. If you’re in the a daily transaction league, now may be the time to load up on as many Padres as you can, if you haven’t already filled your roster with Rockies. Let’s discuss who might be available in your league.
Yeah, it’s a day late, as yesterday I was too busy demanding you pick up all the Rockies for their seven game homestand. But, if you’re in a daily transaction league, you still have three games to benefit from the Giants visiting Coors Field. So let’s have a look at some Giants hitters who might be available in your league and are owned in less than 50% of CBS leagues.
With just about two and a half weeks to go in the season, using the schedule to gain any possible advantage could be the difference between first and second place. Amazingly, the Rockies have a seven game homestand this week! Not only are they playing seven games, while some teams are only playing six, but all of them come at Coors Field, one of the league’s most favorable hitting environments. So it’s time to stock up on Rockies still in your free agent pool!
I’ve published a ton of posts highlighting new everyday players on the hitting side, but have ignored pitchers. So let’s now shift to rookie starting pitchers who have recently made their MLB debuts.
Today’s group of new everyday players are no strangers to starting lineups. So this is a group that has been there before and is now returning to a starting role.
