AJ Preller: I need a 3B (real life, not fantasy) and I’d prefer it if he was good. Who can flip me a third baseman for a catcher, or a corner outfielder, or a ton of pitching prospects?

Ebelin: All things equal and from a fantasy perspective, who’s the odd man out between Renfroe, Reyes and Cordero?

German: Is Wil Myers ever going to break out? I think I might’ve asked this for four straight years but here I am again.

Tokyo: What’s the earliest round you’d take Tatis and just stash him till he gets called up?

Brad Johnson: I am wise to your ways Padres fan!

Brad Johnson: We’ll get started in 10 minutes or so. Try not to spam the queue. I’d like to have a little back and forth which is more easily achieved with fewer questions and more responses to those questions.

Brad Johnson: In other words, just ask one or two questions at a time.

CaptBaldy: What do you think J Aguilar does next year?  Also, have him for $1 in 12 team NL only 4×4 weekly league, should I be looking to trade him for something maybe more “stable” or keep him?

Brad Johnson: Well, I think you approach this in two ways. 1. You definitely plan to keep Aguilar for $1. 2. There’s nothing wrong with seeing if somebody else will buy high on his power.

Brad Johnson: So Benintendi costs no pick?

Brad Johnson: I ask that you reserve your keeper questions until a more appropriate time. If you have to make them in October, by all means ask away.

Brad Johnson: But in general, you should wait to make those decision closer to your deadline. No need to fuss about it now.

Brad Johnson: We’ll start in 10 minutes or so. I’m opening the queue a little early today.

Jackie: If you didn’t have a partner, would you be able to be solely a writer or would you need a “day” job?

Brad Johnson: I could make my income work – especially with either a roommate or by simply picking a cheap market to live. I’d have to make more of my own food, and I wouldn’t have much of a safety net. So I’d probably be hustling harder via some other income source.

Brad Johnson: Granted, I needed a lot of seed money to get this career off the ground, although I earned all that myself.

Tim: In a 10-team, Keep-5 H2H category league w/ OBP and OPS. You think Goldy is worth keeping at $45? How about Xander at $15?

Brad Johnson: They both look keepable to me absent other info. I think, ideally, you’d keep something cheaper than Goldy then redraft him or similar for $50.

Ryan: Where are you drafting Votto next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: That’s a tough one but I’m likely looking at the 5th round or later. The back worries me. He’s turned into prime Joe Mauer but without being catcher eligible.

Trent: Suarez is a top 3 third baseman next year.  True?

Jeff Zimmerman: One sec.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s at least 6th behind Bregman, Arenado, Ramirez, Machado, and Bryant. The only one I could see an argument for being lower is Bryant

hscer: What’s the closest money battle you’ve ever seen during the final week of a roto league?

Brad Johnson: Not sure exactly what you mean by money battle. I’ve won and lost seasons by a margin of 1 run. One time back before Yahoo went to extra decimals to tie break, I lost by half a point overall and tied the winner in WHIP.

Brad Johnson: I still maintain I would have won with an extra decimal place

Brad Johnson: That’s going to depend on the size and shape. That you’re even asking tells me this isn’t a 20 team keep ’em all scenario

Matt: Final weekend of my H2H 5×5 league. He’s got 6 more SPs, I have 4, but I have decent leads in ERA/WHIP and K’s. You think Wainwright or Glasnow is a better pick up to bolster my chances?

Brad Johnson: I think he’ll quickly return to the 9th inning, and there isn’t much risk to your ratios

High Strikes Low Balls: Have to start either Josh James or Touki Toussaint this week. Who would you risk going with?

Brad Johnson: This is a tough one. They’re the same asset class – precocious, unestablished talents. They’ve both avoided hard contact in tiny tiny samples

Enlightening Round: Best source for finding out who will actually start over the last two weeks? My points league has a cap on starting pitching for our two week final and I have to choose wisely

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s a little late in the season to possibly pay the full price, but I live off the Razzball.com weekly/daily projections. Ruby Gamble runs it and he knows his shit. For many of the best out there, it’s one-stop shopping.

Joe B: need wins- Godley has been horrible. Would you  pick up CC Sabathia who has been pretty bad in September but he does have a start this week against Baltimore?
