Highly Custom Leagues: A Desirability Poll

Today’s post shall cover three things in a rather perfunctory nature. Intro complete.

Le Chat Means “The Cat”

There shall be a chat this afternoon at the usual time. Bring your BSHOL and Trout Wars questions. We’ll be serving funions and onion dip. So much onion flavor, so few actual onions! Let’s meetup at 4:00pm ET at your house or office.

I Lost Trout Wars But Not Tout Wars

The Tout Wars Draft and Hold league has been under way for 23 hours and 57 minutes as of this writing. I have made five selections. The bad news is it did not go according to plan. The good news is it went way better than I had hoped. I pick eighth of 15. This is a 50 player roster league with no waivers or trades and 5×5 OBP scoring.

1.8 Ronald Acuna

2.8 Francisco Lindor

3.8 Patrick Corbin

4.8 James Paxton

5.8 Jack Flaherty

I reserved the full blow-by-blow including the various chemical compounds used to arrive at each selection for my patrons. It suffices to say I was concerned about getting a good foundation of starting pitching in a league where I couldn’t use my standard approach of “I’ll buy it later.” By triple-tapping pitchers in rounds three through five, I’ve almost certainly surrendered all of the goodwill I earned from my incredibly bargain Lindor pick.

An Important Poll

Yesterday, I published the ninth and likely final edition of the Highly Custom League series – at least for this offseason. We’ll see if I remember it and have fresh ideas next winter. Entries in this series covered 2×2 Roto, Split Auctions, Roto-to-HeadRotating DivisionsWAR wars, Category WarsPublic Trade NegotiationsIf Only, and Elimination.

As the section heading implies, I would like for you to participate in a Twitter poll. I can use this data to hack into the mainframe.
