Bria: Do you have any long term health concerns about Crochet?

Paul Sporer: Not any more than every SP which is to say yes, I do, it’s just not actionable. Knowing that literally every pitcher can and at some point almost certainly WILL break leaves me focused way more on skills over health. Obviously, guys currently dealing with injuries, freshly back them, or with an extensive history of them carry extra risk, but there is no such thing as a safe pitcher, so gimme the best skills. (This doesn’t mean stacking Rodon, Snell, Cole on a team, but rather not eschewing a more talented but higher injury risk guy for a lesser talented guy and the myth of safety)

Matt: Joined a league with a FAB this year for the first time – I’m usually in Ottoneu/dynasty world. How do you recommend approaching FA? I’m usually VERY active on the wire, so will try as many $0 bids as possible, but how should I think about allocating my dollars? Is it mostly impact call-ups?

Paul Sporer: Yeah impact call-ups and injury replacements. Spamming the mid and lower tier bids is usually the better option v. the big budget players. Rarely do the triple-digits really deliver. Doesn’t mean you NEVER go for ’em, but be very smart about when to take that shot.

Chuck: How high would you go on Palencia in a 6×6 format with saves and holds separate cats?

Paul Sporer: I’m an Ohtani at 1 type of guy, but I don’t think it’s *wrong* to prefer Judge

Paul Sporer: Whoops, hit the button too fast. I’ll answer both, but is that Jhoan Duran v. Sasaki in a pitcher v. pitcher comp or Jarren?

Paul Sporer: As for Colt Keith, I’m in especially for OBP. He took a step forward last year and could take another this year even if it’s not a leap. There is still developing power and if he jumps to the 20-HR plateau, it’ll be a nice season. Great price, too

Nick: NL-only dynasty league, 10 teams, standard 5×5…

I have Edwin Diaz at $24, Mason Miller at $16 and Abner Uribe at $10… do I keep Uribe, toss him back, try and trade him? Unsure of how the Brewers pen situation unfolds between now and Opening Day

Austin Wells’s middle finger: How does your approach in a draft-and-hold change when going from a 15-team to 12-team format?

Paul Sporer: Fitting username there as I think you can push a catcher a little more and not get crushed. There’s still a bottom of the barrel and just because it’s higher in 12s doesn’t mean you’re OK taking the last 2 Cs off the board, but I’m less inclined to push my stud C up whereas in 15s, I’ve never been shy about a premium C. You’re going to have richer benches so you can open up the risk profile a bit, but I still wouldn’t limit the prospects and injury specs bc you still can’t add guys.

Matt: Lindor down right after the Ottoneu drop date. Feeling confident in him being back by the 2nd or 3rd week? Probably don’t need to go crazy with a backup at auction?

Paul Sporer: Yeah I wouldn’t bend over backwards. Get a boring starter maybe so you’re at least clocking volume if he does miss longer than expected?
