Paul Sporer: Hey y’all, thanks for coming out!!

Jon Tayler: Thoughts on Jared Jones? I figured he’d be up and down post-TJ, but I’m starting to worry he’s not going to lock in before the season’s up. Would you cut him in roto for any of Lodolo, Christian Scott, Rogers or Boyd?

Paul Sporer: Yeah I came into the season looking at Jones more for 27. He doesn’t have enough track record to lean on in a post-TJ year. Eury Perez was the same but I made that mistake last year so I wanted to learn from it and not be too quick to trust Jones. I have no problem with any of those guys for him, as for which one, I’d line up their schedule for the next 2-3 weeks and see if that helps find a game changer

Paul Sporer: Ya it definitely felt like a matter of time for his power to click in. Everything else is there, so this could be a monstrous summer. And they really need it, that lineup is liiight

gforce1124: Austin Riley was dropped in my 10 team dynasty league.  Do I go all in on FAAB for him?  Or let him be someone else’s headache?  I’m fine at 3B so not a need, unless he gets back to 2023 levels.

JackS: Thanks as always Jeff – What percent on Sean Keys in a 12 team AL only keeper league would you spend? (If the league has a lot of “prospector” types who will bid a couple bucks extra, would that make a difference to you?)

Jon Tayler: Hola Paul, I traded Gelof for Adell in an OBP roto league (5 OF, MI/CI/IF); how’d I do?

Paul Sporer: Obviously this would’ve been a resounding win if Gelof was severely injured, though I trust that’s not why you were dealing him. So assuming the good news of no break in his wrist holds and he’s healthy, this is a very fair deal IMO. As long as you don’t need Gelof’s SBs and OF is a bigger need than INF, this lines up just fine as a deal!

MD: Next week: Warren vs DET or Webb @COL?

Paul Sporer: Coors always a little scary even for studs, but slamdunk Webb for me here. He’s dealing and appears back on track which makes him matchup proof again

MD: 12 tm roto dynasty (OBP & TB). I’m tied for first, constantly flip flopping with #2. I need SBs badly. Is it too much to trade a Bubba Chandler in the minors for a rental Arozarena? I feel Arozarena having a career year at 31 is a bit scary. I’m trying to talk him into Hagen Smith instead

Paul Sporer: Oh he’s gotta be a part of the conversation for sure. Count me among those who had concerns about his K% coming into this year but when you add 8 pts of BB% (and even shave 3 pts of K%), it’s a totally different situation. The power was already covering the Ks to a degree but the OBP is now such a force. I thought the K% would sting more as BABIP regressed, but he’s up to .389!! That’s not just Sacramento, either: .400 Home/.380 Road

cjsarpon: Is it time to move on from Palencia? Elbow inflammation could be a long stint, IL spots are tight, wasn’t getting opps, and in a 4-5 point dogfight for saves (SVs only league). Yates, Webb, Theilbar, Santillan best SVs options on wire.

Paul Sporer: Yeah I’m OK moving on from Palencia. Not pitching well enough when healthy to think he’s a must-hold in any capacity

Your Pal Al: Two-part question — 10-team AVG/OBP/SLG/H/BB/HR/NSB league.

I spent serious draft capital on Austin Riley and Luke Keaschall hoping to lock down 3B and 2B. Instead, I’ve had to burn valuable roster spots chasing production while benching both of them, and IL hits to my SPs have only made it worse. Should I try to package Riley and Keaschall for starting pitching and roll with Royce Lewis, Matt McLain, Antonacci, and Gelof to rotate through 2B/3B (rank)?

Also, what FAAB % should I reserve for therapy?

Jeff Zimmerman: Normally, hitters take a 200 OPS point hit going to the majors; he’s at .745 OPS in AAA, so a .545 OPS is the median outcome.

Hazmat: Any thoughts on Cole Carrigg? He isn’t get much of a mention in today’s write up but had a good debut. Do you see him sticking around even with their group of injured outfielders?

Paul Sporer: Anyone with a chance to consistent PT in Coors has some appeal. He’s a blazer with 30 SBs at AAA and a huge BABIP. Feels like he could be a really good fit in that park!

bkgeneral: 16 Team points league.  Is Keaschall ever going to get going?

Paul Sporer: Perhaps, but he’s not that far off where expectations should’ve been. He’s got 10 SBs. AVG is light but not so far off expectations (.247 actual v. .260s projections). He’s not quite striking the ball hard enough to think he’ll definitely improve his .289 BABIP, but the plate skills are in order so he could have a run. I know in points, his SBs don’t matter as much so for your purposes, he really does need to get that AVG going. The thing is, I’m not sure there’s a ton better on a 16-team wire so I might try to hold a bit longer but if someone pops up, you can cut
