Brad Johnson: Well, I think you approach this in two ways. 1. You definitely plan to keep Aguilar for $1. 2. There’s nothing wrong with seeing if somebody else will buy high on his power.

Jackie: If you didn’t have a partner, would you be able to be solely a writer or would you need a “day” job?

Brad Johnson: I could make my income work – especially with either a roommate or by simply picking a cheap market to live. I’d have to make more of my own food, and I wouldn’t have much of a safety net. So I’d probably be hustling harder via some other income source.

Brad Johnson: Granted, I needed a lot of seed money to get this career off the ground, although I earned all that myself.

Tim: In a 10-team, Keep-5 H2H category league w/ OBP and OPS. You think Goldy is worth keeping at $45? How about Xander at $15?

Brad Johnson: They both look keepable to me absent other info. I think, ideally, you’d keep something cheaper than Goldy then redraft him or similar for $50.

Ryan: Where are you drafting Votto next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: That’s a tough one but I’m likely looking at the 5th round or later. The back worries me. He’s turned into prime Joe Mauer but without being catcher eligible.

Trent: Suarez is a top 3 third baseman next year.  True?

Brad Johnson: Not sure exactly what you mean by money battle. I’ve won and lost seasons by a margin of 1 run. One time back before Yahoo went to extra decimals to tie break, I lost by half a point overall and tied the winner in WHIP.

Enlightening Round: Best source for finding out who will actually start over the last two weeks? My points league has a cap on starting pitching for our two week final and I have to choose wisely

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s a little late in the season to possibly pay the full price, but I live off the Razzball.com weekly/daily projections. Ruby Gamble runs it and he knows his shit. For many of the best out there, it’s one-stop shopping.

Brad Johnson: I think they’re both playable in the right situation. Whether that applies to you is another matter. Are you behind pace for IP or need to out-volume in a H2H matchup?

Brad Johnson: If not, they probably project to slightly below average in every category. Which is fine for volume plays but not if you need to improve your stats.

Brad Johnson: Opportunity cost matters too. If you’re using Shoemaker now instead of a trashpile later, then do it.
