Here’s the transcript from Friday. Lots of Reynaldo Lopez and Nick Pivetta!
2:15 |
: Hello, everyone!! Welcome to the chat! |
2:16 |
Patrick Corbin a 10-team hold (as opposed to stream) now? If so, any of these players you’d drop to add him?: Yonder, Brach, Kingery. Thanks! : |
2:17 |
: Ya I think we gotta hold him in all formats. Corbin is throwing his slider a TON and getting big results (42% K, 18% SwStr). It won’t stay this great, but he’s also not a fluke |
2:19 |
Chase Anderson’s velo drop concerning? : Is |
2:20 |
: A little in that I was going to be watching his velo early on anyway just to see if he held the ’17 gains |
2:20 |
: What kind of upside to Newcomb and Gohara have? |
Here’s today’s chat transcript. Lots of interesting Opening Week concerns to address.
3:51 |
: Hi folks, let’s get started in a few moments. |
3:51 |
: I probably need to stop right at 5:00 today as I have some other work to finish before social sports time. |
3:52 |
: Would you be trying to trade Francisco Mejia in a dynasty in fear that he won’t be catcher-eligible? |
3:53 |
: At least in my dynasty leagues (20 team, 1 C slot), losing the C eligibility isn’t a bad thing. |
3:54 |
: Every day players with OF eligibility are more valuable than 450 PA from a C. Usually |
3:54 |
: Thanks for chatting Brad. I lost Salvy to injury. In the meantime should I roll with Tucker Barnhart or Francisco Cervelli? Thanks! |
I’ll prioritize questions on weekly acquisitions but will take other fantasy related questions. See everyone at 8:30 EST tonight.

Baseball is back and I couldn’t be happier!
2:14 |
: Hello!! We finally have baseball!!!!!!! |
2:14 |
: OK, now onto the questions… |
2:14 |
: BTW, include context with your questions or they might be useless (how many teams, format) |
2:14 |
: So why is it that Cleveland doesn’t make the playoffs? |
2:15 |
: The bad fastballs of virtually their entire staff, a lame OF, and lack of depth |
2:15 |
: Watching Zimmerman today. 8 Ks, 1 BB. Only two extra-base hits. The 4 ER aren’t pretty, but a new pitch (2 seamer). Any thoughts? Have any looks at him? |
Here’s today’s chat transcript in which I only answered 1/10th of the Scott Kingery questions.
3:51 |
: And we roll.
|
3:51 |
: Why do I hate Rhys Hoskins so much?
|
3:51 |
: WHAT!
|
3:52 |
: As with any Phillies fan, closeted or otherwise, I have a massive man-crush on Rhys Hoskins
|
3:52 |
: Gallo in the 2-hole a net positive for his fant value?
|
3:52 |
: Better than sixth. Changes the distribution of his runs/RBI a small amount. Increases that total slightly too.
|
RotoGraphs will be hosting this chat every Sunday night during the season to help owners decided on their waiver claims and FAAB bidding. I will be the normal chat host but others may step in if I have other commitments.
The start time will need to be after 7:00 PM CST when I host so it’s at 7:30 for now. Let me know how the time works.
As for the focus of the chat, I’ll try to answer fantasy questions on waiver wire pickups and FAAB bidding. I’ll answer other fantasy questions if no more acquisition questions are in the queue.
2:18 |
: Good afternoon, everyone!! It’s MLB The Show release weekend and we’re less than a week from Opening Day, let’s goooo!!!! |
2:18 |
David Dahl to grab Lew Brinson in 10-team mixed? Sounding like Dahl is destined to being the year at AAA. : Drop |
2:19 |
: Ya, I think you have to be super active in 10-team and not sit on guys |
2:19 |
:
|
2:19 |
2:19 |
: Bump up Arrieta based on yesterday’s velocity readings? |
Here’s today’s transcript. Enjoy your drafts everyone!
3:59 |
: Hey folks, let’s getting rolling
|
3:59 |
: I promise to be at my grumpiest, grouchiest self today
|
3:59 |
: or similar
|
4:00 |
: I just read your “Am I crazy” post. Interesting. I’m more intrigued by a comment you left – do you still suggest going heavy on pitching in a 5×5 H2H weekly league, where your record at the end of the week is based on categories won (i.e. 7-3)? How much would you spend on pitching in that type of league?
|
4:00 |
: That was Justin’s post. But I did comment.
|
4:01 |
: There’s no one size fits all approach, but it can be very profitable to dominate the pitching categories if the rest of your league is using a 70/30 pitching split.
