Paul Sporer: I’d move off Cal at this point. You gave it long enough and I can’t see any reason to believe a good streak is in the offing. I’d prioritize Stephenson among that group.

Paul Sporer: Love Miggy, been touting him for years, but Kevin McGonigle is just much more dynamic and thus worth the 2x price tag to me.

Datt Mamon: I traded Max Clark for Pagan at our league’s deadline, desperate for saves as I sit within striking distances of first place. Pagan is doing his part (3-3), but how much regret will I have re: Clark?

Paul Sporer: If you win, not at all (even if Clark becomes a star!) as, say it with me, flags fly forever!! But I do think Clark should become a pretty nice fantasy asset. Has a good understanding of the zone and great speed. If the power develops, he could be a real superstar

MD: I’m usually on the “ignore until at least a half season after TJS” train, but from a position of really needing SP right now down the stretch, any optimism for Jobe? Montgomery?

Paul Sporer: Yes, I’m much more open to these off the wire. I want nothing to do w/TJ returners at the draft table, but the “any port in a storm” nature of the season leads me to looking at them much more closely as waiver pickups. IP usage out of the gate is a concern and then the start-to-start volatility that we see with TJ returners is as well. Now they can outrun it in a shorter sample like Bradish last yr and then we saw his struggles this year. Jobe higher upside w/his swing & miss potential but I could also so 3-4 IP outings outta him initially whereas Monty will likely be allowed to go 5-6 off rip assuming he isn’t running up huge pitch counts
