Paul Sporer: Good afternoon, everyone!!

Y’llo: Drop my Steve Pearce for Solarte or Wong?

Paul Sporer: Seems lateral, isn’t Pearce raking lately, too?

Andrew Heaney: Do you think I make an impact for teams in the running with injured SP’s?

Paul Sporer: I’m a Heaney fan overall, but I keep expectations very low with arms returning from major injury

Nathan: Is this up and running?

Brad Johnson: Welcome to rad Johnson baseball chat. I noticed the typo too late, please excuse

Bob: I hate to waste your time asking this question but I’m desperate, so I hope you’ll be kind enough to provide your feedback. Need to fill the C spot in my AL-only league and the “best” options are Castro, Gomes, Vasquez and Chirinos. Any one of them stand out above the rest? Thanks!

Brad Johnson: I think Chirinos’ steady HR production is useful in that format. He’s probably top 10.

Sleepy: Totally thought the “typo” was intentional…

JD15: Alex Bregman has been very hot in the second half. As a whole, how has he compared to your expectations going into the season? Would you consider him a potential keeper at pre-season hype prices?

Brad Johnson: To answer the second part of your question first, that depends on just how hyped he was in your league

Paul Sporer: It’s chat time!!!

Dylan: Start Hamels tonight against Houston or keep on bench?

Paul Sporer: Pass in 10 and 12

Rob: Paul! Miggy is gonna finish out the last bit strong right?! Or is all hope gone ?

Paul Sporer: I’ve kinda given up the idea that a flourish is coming. MLB The Show has, too. They upgrade the cards every week based on real life performance and they gave him a really long leash before finally moving him from diamond to gold just today

Cory: In a keeper league, currently in first place and lost Paxton last night…  Glasnow or Woodruff?

Eric: Can Godley stop the Dodgers epic run or would you bench him?

Brad Johnson: I’m using him in DFS tonight, but that’s mostly a function of his low price tag on DraftKings. Godley handled the Dodgers not too long ago. You can start him against any team

Brad Johnson: That’s not to say there isn’t any downside or risk

Brad Johnson: but with the way this season’s gone, Godley vs. LAD is a better than average play

Dylan: What happened to Kintzler being the closer in Washington?

Brad Johnson: I don’t know. It’s certainly a surprising development to see Doolittle still closing. A welcome development at that – I grew up playing against Doolittle so I always find myself rooting for him

Brad Johnson: Ahoy there! I have a few excuses to make before we get started.

Brad Johnson: First, my laptop’s AC adapter caught fire last week so I’m on an old desktop. Typos may be a problem

Brad Johnson: Second, I am wearing a wrist brace to help a pitching injury heal. It gets in the way of typing. Thus, typos may be a problem

Brad Johnson: Now, let’s talk about trades before I take questions.

Brad Johnson: I would like to first answer questions regarding what I’m about to write, so stop spamming for a moment and fix your attention to me. I’m ignoring everything entered for now

Brad Johnson: We’re at the point in the season when lopsided trades really start to make sense.

Paul Sporer: Good day, everyone!

LudeBurger: Paul-eeee!!

Paul Sporer: yooo

Chris: Would you trade Scherzer for Arenado straight up in a dynasty? Have some depth at SP with MadBum, deGrom and Thor when he comes back.

Paul Sporer: Ya I’m good with that

seth: Keepable Brett Gardner for unkeepable Scooter + Luis Castillo, who you got?

Paul Sporer: Let’s talk some baseball!!

Blah: Arrieta 6Ks so far all swinging. Second half push coming from him?

Paul Sporer: Eh, maybe.

Sam: McCullers or Conforto in a dynasty points league, keep forever

Paul Sporer: Conforto. I loooove McCullers, but betting on him long-term is scary. I’m going year-to-year with him

Gary: Hey Paul!  I’ve been trying to pry away Rizzo in a Roto OBP to take advantage of his 2B elig, when he gets it.  Would trading away Rendon/Upton for Rizzo/Salazar be worth the 2B power upgrade (I have Odor currently).  Thanks!

Brad Johnson: Oh, hello there. It’s been a few weeks since we last convened. A lot has (not) happened.

Brad Johnson: I did learn today that I’ll be missing this year’s FanGraphs staff meetup, which is usually one of the highlights of the year. I’m a tad grumpy ’bout it.

Brad Johnson: Wedding with friends I rarely see is a good consolation prize. Anywho, y’all have already asked about 30 questions in the on minute this has been open

Sterling Mallory Chris Archer: Welcome back Brad! In your notes today you say Pham should be owned in all leagues.  My OF consists of Harper, Nelson Cruz, Conforto and Merrifield. (Start 3 OF). I need help mostly in avg, runs and steals.  Should I drop Whit for Pham and use Conforto as my 4th OF?

Brad Johnson: I think those were somebody else’s notes. I think Pham should be on the waiver wire in about 85% of 12 team, mixed formats

Brad Johnson: He is, however, the very top streamer for 5 category production.

Paul Sporer: My SP rankings are updated, let’s talk some baseball!!

Bob: Hey Paul!  Thanks for the rankings update.  I was offered Yu for my GCole and Arrieta in a QS league.  Take it?

Paul Sporer: No problem! I might do that in a shallower league, but it’s steep

Hans Kluber: Why did Danny Duffy’s RoS suddenly change dramatically for ERA?

Paul Sporer: Not sure

brad: Thanks for sp rankings and back to back chats.  How come Rg hasn’t been doing rankings on other positions?  thanks.

Paul Sporer: Good morning! I’m filling in for Eno today and still doing my normal chat tomorrow! This one will be a regular one (about an hour), but then a marathon tomorrow

Nick: With the Cubs trade….do the Cardinals respond? And if so who do they target?

Paul Sporer: I doubt they respond with a blockbuster, tbh

Jay: Should I sell high on Chris Taylor or do you think he’ll be productive in 2nd half? (Projections say he’ll be below league average). I could get Gerritt Cole for him.

Paul Sporer: I’d get Cole for sure

Kevin: Offered Yoan Moncada for Sandy Alcantara and Strasburg in a keeper league….with Moncada not breaking out at AAA should I pass?
