Alas, my heroic play of Nestor Cortes and Max Scherzer was thwarted by an elite lineup of scrubs.

Brad Johnson Baseball Chat: 6/25/2019

Sorry folks, JotCast is DOWN. I did manage to squeeze out a few answers to questions before it hard crashed. Most of you couldn’t get in at all though.

3:59
Brad Johnson: We’ll get this rolling in a few minutes

4:01
Brad Johnson: Something is wrong with the chat app, I’m going to reboot.

4:12
Brad Johnson: Ok, so 11 of you have made it past the blank screen of death. Something is wrong with Jotcast unfortunately.

4:12
Brad Johnson: Oh, the controls finally loaded, so there are a few questions I can answer.

4:13
Noah: Glad you are back Brad! Keeper question here. Keep 4 in a H2H points league. Already have Vladito locked up for 7 years (15-9 rounds) , but need to pick from Yordan (10th round pick – choice of years), Eloy (7-?), Kimbrel (10-?), Hiura (10-?), Dahl (8-?), Robles (7-?) for the remaining 3. Thanks!

Brad Johnson: Alvarez is an easy pick

The Daily Grind: SaberSim Furious Upgrade

To date, when using SaberSim to judge values, I’ve been forced to use DraftKings prices which are a close but not perfect approximation for FantasyDraft’s model. No more! As of today, FDraft (and Yahoo!) are available as selectable platforms in SaberSim.

I’m especially interested to see how their optimizer deals with FDraft’s scant positional definitions. Then again, I’ve long viewed the lack of catered optimizers as a feature of using FDraft so I suppose I’m hoping it doesn’t work.

The Daily Grind: Confessions of Unforced Errors

This time, my moment of self-defeat was the decision to use what I perceived to be a mildly risky Matt Adams and “upgrade” to Zack Wheeler from Masahiro Tanaka. Quite a run of unforced errors over these last three contests.

  1. TDG Invitational
  2. Weather Reports
  3. Pitchers to Use and Abuse
