I get that the 10 day DL situation is unfortunate but I don’t see how you can suddenly decide to add slots kid season unless you have unanimous agreement in your league. There are among certainly teams that have already been forced to drop good players because of the DL situation. If you’re going to suddenly change the rules now then you’re completely screwing those teams over . I guess you could allow those teams to re-add their dropped players but what if other teams have already picked them up? It’s really hard to put it back in the box at this point. As bad as the DL situation is, at least everyone is in the same situation, playing by the same rules.

I don’t understand the issue–10-day DL or not, the guy is injured, right? Even if teams are DL’ing guys more often now, those are just guys who last year would have been sitting injured on your bench marked DTD. The guy’s hurt and not playing in ether case.

I think that the concern is that the shorter DL requirement is actually extending the time that players are out of your lineup. Whereas before, with a 15 day DL, if a guy was only going to be hurt for 3 or 4 days, a team might elect to play a man down and not to put them on the DL for a full 15 days. In that case, the player would return in 3-4 days. Now, that same team might elect to put that player on the 10 day DL because the cost of doing so is reduced, meaning that the guy would be out of your lineup for two weeks instead of a few days.
