Roto Riteup April 29, 2017

Sometimes we aren’t lucky and we jinx people. I wrote in the Riteup Friday, I was obsessed with Adam Eaton. I still am, but Friday night, he left the game with a leg injury in the ninth inning. It looked pretty scary. He collapsed once he reached first and was carried off the field. It looked like it was his left ankle that was in distress and he will undergo an MRI Saturday so we will keep you updated with that.

Still, it doesn’t look good, so anticipate your team being M.I.A without him for a while.

On the Agenda

  1. News and Notes
  2. Mets didn’t lose, yay!
  3. Do we like Christian Arroyo?

News and Notes

Aaron Judge is still really, really, really good. He went 2-for-3 with two bombs and three RBI against the Orioles Friday. He has a .373 ISO right now, and he did this, too:

-It turns out Mitch Haniger will miss 3-4 weeks with a Grade 2 right oblique strain, and don’t ask me how to replace him because it’s impossible. (Kidding, I’m bitter…huge Haniger fan over here). It’s just weird because Haniger was the main guy to grab when Starling Marte ended up getting suspended.

Haniger is slashing .338/.442/.600 and Jeff Sullivan wrote up on some comps with the 26-year-old. Most of these guys are probably taken in your league, but he does mention Trevor Plouffe as a “boring league-average bat” in comparison. But, it’s Haniger, and he’s perfect in every way.

-It’s also a Grade 2 sprain for Madison Bumgarner. He should return around the All-Star break according to Alex Pavlovic. He should continue being fantasy owners ace during the second half of play.

Mets didn’t lose, yay!

Thanks to Jacob deGrom and some stellar bats, the Mets snapped their six-game losing streak Friday night in the win over the Nationals.

The 28-year-old struck out 12 Friday and is now the first Mets pitcher since David Cone (1992) to reach double-digit strikeouts for the third straight start. He faces the Braves next week and will continue dominance.

Do we like Christian Arroyo?

Yes. Yes, we do.

He hit is first big-league home run Wednesday against Sergio Romo to help the team defeat the Dodgers, but he didn’t stop there. He hit his second home run Friday night which became a game-winning shot to left field.

He was ridiculous for Triple-A Sacramento batting a .446/.478/.692 with three homers, 12 RBI, and two stolen bases. Coming from the hitter’s haven known as the Pacific Coast League means you have some hesitancy when it comes to offensive performances. The Giants will put him in an everyday role, so in the daily game, take advantage of that low price across the industry. In regular season formats picking him up to see his production as a hitter is not a horrible investment whatsoever.

I’m in a deep NL-only league, so there’s that.
