Jon: Domingo German is averaging 12.2 Ks/9 with a 17% swinging strike rate. I think I will drop Nick Anderson for him since starters with high K rates are so important

Whaleoil: Danny Jansen dropped in my league.  I have Christian Vasquez.  Put a claim in for Jansen or sit tight.

Jeff Zimmerman: It all comes down to team and league depth.

KCbbq: In a 12 team AL only 5×5 H2H keeper league how much FAAB to bid on Neto, Julien and Rooker? Rookies always tend to come with growing pains. Julien is likely headed back to AAA and the Angles say Neto is here to stay.  Part of me thinks Rooker has the most leash to stick plus isn;t he a former first round pick?

Jeff Zimmerman: Here are the bids from the AL Tout Wars leagues.

Jeff Zimmerman: In AL-only you are probably looking at 20% to 40% with possibly more

Jeff Zimmerman: As for Rooker, he feels like a 10% guy

Frank: Do you think it is likely that Taj stays up to replace Springs?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think he will work his way into the rotation but I’m not sure how

PJ: Struggling with a Neto % tonight. is 15% worth it in a deep 15 team mix?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think it may take that much but it’s too much for me.

Jeff Zimmerman: I just don’t see him as a difference make

Points H2H: How much to bid on Bryce Harper in a 12 team mixed points H2H league? $1000 FAAB $1 min bid, with about $850-900 left. No IL but quite a few bench spots.

Jeff Zimmerman: With the current timeline, 20% min, possibly 50%+. First round caliber players just don’t show up on the wire.

Chipper: Severino is on my wire in a 12-team league. Is he a must-grab?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes

Guest: What percentage on Taj and Neto?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think 5% is the min with the upside being 50%. I think it’ll be nuts, especially for desperate managers needing SS and SP replacements.

Tom: how high would you go on Julien in a $1000 budget obp league (14-teams)? Not desperate for middle infield help (Mookie should have 2B soon), but can’t tell if this guy has difference making potential

Jeff Zimmerman: I can’t go high and Julien at all. He could be back in the minors in 10 days. Polanco is well into his 20-day rehab start and has only played 2B

Jeff Zimmerman: Correa isn’t moving. Maybe Buxton will go to CF to make room.

Jeff Zimmerman: Know that Julien could be demoted in 10 days and not play again in the majors for a while.

Guest: I’m thinking with Gallo back Wednesday and Kirilloff in rehab, Julien gets sent down…..unless they option Gordon, who has been awful this year.

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s more of a 2B issue, Polanco and Julien have only played it. And yes I know Julien tried some 3B and OF and few years back

KCbbq: Do you think Burger will stay up once Moncada comes off the IL? He’s hit enough to stay up but where would he play?

Jeff Zimmerman: No but he should. I suspect Burger will be a one week play

Jeff Zimmerman: That order works. That said, I think Rooker and Maton have short leashes and both could end up in a platoon. If you roster them, check in on their playing time weekly.

SuperNES: I’m looking for a CI in a 14 team OBP league. How would you rank Myers, Steer, and Jung going forward?

faab %: Does this usually refer to the total (original) FAAB budget or the amount the player has remaining?

Jeff Zimmerman: I usually mean it for the original FAAB. It just helps differentiate between $1000 and $100 leagues.

frank: would you drop kopech and/or ed cabrera for oviedo and/or german?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d drop E Cabrera for German

Swayze: Wondering what % on Baty now that he’s getting the call.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think depending on the league, he’s a min of 10% with some 30%+ bids. He’s the first real difference maker getting promoted besides Bradley.

Josh: when should we trust early statcast data to evaluate our own guys vs free agents?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably two months

Jeff Zimmerman: I do it early but I regress the hell out of the values and the whole league starts at a 50% grade across the board.

Jeff Zimmerman: Just now, the extreme are getting to 40% and 60%

Neto: Those are big AL Tout bids for Neto given he hasn’t been on base yet. Is he really staying up? Feels like Moreno trying to screw whoever replaces him…

Jeff Zimmerman: Right now Wells and it’s not close. Keep an eye on Wentz. His last start was good and may have figured something out. I’d like to see him do it some more.

DJH: I have Nootbar and Moncada both coming of IL soon. I have to drop two of Outman, Gunnar, Hayes, Myers, Segura, Kim, Steer. Position doesn’t matter.

Jeff Zimmerman: If still available, 10% probably a lot more.

Greg: I guess it’s because I’m a deep AL-only guy but I really thought Christian Arroyo was a better sleeper entering the year. Can’t hit a lick now

Jeff Zimmerman: I had him a late-round option in 15-teamers, but his managers have needed to move on.

Greg: When Mitch Garver returns (assuming it’s soon) do you think he returns to being a part-timer, or can he earn a lion’s share of ABs. Weird they didn’t play him more, even at DH early on

Jeff Zimmerman: He is so broke at this point. I think he’ll need to near 100% before they bring him back
