Intro
The chart includes their performance for 2026, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness, and recently added opponent’s K% (also v. SP handedness), my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues – essentially a shallow, medium, deep league setup – and then a note about some, most, or all depending on the day. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s a much riskier stream for those spots.
These are general recommendations for standard 5×5 roto leagues, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. I usually won’t have much to write about aces who are locked into our rotations. If you want to discuss someone further, please feel free to leave a comment. I usually do a few sweeps of the comments before game time in case there are time-sensitive questions.
Color Coding:
- Green – Good Matchup (so lower OPS output by the pitcher’s opponent)
- Yellow – OK
- Red – Bad
Wind at 10+:
DET – in from R at 10
NYM – out to L at 12
KCR – out to L at 13
CHW – in from R at 12
Coors – across from L to R at 13, warm too at 87*
Rain:
BAL – 52% at 1st pitch but clearing pretty quickly
PIT – 6% at 1st pitch increasing to 35%
DET – 25% all game, increasing after the game
NYM – 34-40% all game
KCR – 46-56% all game
CHW – 51-59% all game
Just going to note that Vegas is supposed to be 97* at 1st pitch and stay hot through the weekend. With 17 HR the 1st 2 games, I’d expect homers to be the order of the week in Vegas.
Is framber cooked?
No, I don’t think so. His ratios are fine since the Boston shellacking at 3.71 ERA/1.20 WHIP across 5 starts. And then if you expand out further, he has a 2.64 ERA in 11 starts surrounding his 2 Duds which total 15 ER in just 8 IP. The 10% K-BB (which he has on the year and in the 5 starts since BOS) is modest but he’s also not that far off from his career 15% mark, either. It’s all in his K% being down a bit.
I think he remains a set it and forget type. Maaaybe an occasional 10 team sit, but I don’t see him as someone to cut anywhere. If we get 3-4 tough ones in a row, we can revisit, but he’s bounced back from every tough outing so far this yr
Shota at Coors? Run away.
Didn’t see that coming. I know COL stinks, but that HR machine in Coors was a terrifying start. And they gagged his win late for those who did take the plunge!
