Ronald Acuna Jr. left Tuesday’s game with a hamstring injury.

He will undergo further testing on Wednesday. Consider him day-to-day for now.

Nolan Schanuel left Tuesday’s game after being hit by a pitch in the leg.

He is expected to undergo further testing on Wednesday. Consider him day-to-day at this time.

Various News and Notes
Jac Caglianone went 3-for-4 with two home runs in the victory over the Rangers on Tuesday.

Caglianone has fantastic underlying skills, but he has yet to put it together at the Majors League level. His contact skills have regressed a little this season, but he is slowly raising his launch angle, which could mean the power breakout is coming.

Spencer Jones went 2-for-4 with his first career home run in the victory over the Guardians on Tuesday.

Jones is hitting .278/.333/.389 in 39 plate appearances in the Majors, but he is striking out at a 41% clip. There is massive power potential in the bat, but inability to make consistent contact is likely going to send him back to the minors once the Yankees get healthier.

Braden Montgomery went 2-for-5 with a walk-off home run in the victory over the Braves on Tuesday.

The former first round pick had a fantastic start to his MLB career, but he doesn’t have a great hit tool which will lower his ceiling. He does have a good understanding of the strike zone, a lot of power and speed. His defense is also pretty good which could give him some leeway, but this is a high risk/high reward profile.

Henry Bolte went 1-for-4 with his first career home run in the victory over the Brewers on Tuesday!

Bolte is hitting .295/.371/.385 with four stolen bases in 89 plate appearances so far for the Athletics. However, he has been very lucky with a .449 BABIP and he is striking out at a 31.5% clip and making poor in-zone contact. There is power and speed in the profile, but if he doesn’t improve the hit tool, he will end up back in the minors.

Pitcher for Today: Foster Griffin at SF

Griffin has pitched well as of late and he has a good matchup in a great park.

Other Options: Brandon Young vs SEA, Jake Bennett at TB, Seth Lugo vs TEX, Reid Detmers vs HOU, Peter Lambert at LAA, Christian Scott vs STL.

Pitcher for Tomorrow: Christian Scott vs STL

Scott has been pretty good since returning from TJ and while this isn’t an easy opponent, it’s not one I am running from.

Other Options: Anthony Kay vs ATL, Merrill Kelly 켈리 at MIA

For those of you that would like to see how these picks play out, I have a doc I put together to track the stats from my recommended pitchers. It does not include the “Other Options.”
