Justin Mason Shortstop Ranks: 3/15/21
Rank Player Team Position(s) ADP Notes
Fernando Tatis Jr. SD SS 2.34 My #1 hitter this year
Trea Turner WAS SS 6.57 I think you can argue he should be a top 3 pick.
Trevor Story COL SS 12.16 Love Story, but the team around him is going to be bad
Francisco Lindor NYM SS 18.29 Move to New York is nice in spite of park downgrade.
Adalberto Mondesi KC SS 21.38 Boom or Bust, but I am here for it.
Xander Bogaerts BOS SS 31.84 Is anyone safer than Xander?
Tim Anderson CWS SS 39.71 I don’t know how he keeps hitting for high averages, but at some point I guess he keeps proving he can.
Bo Bichette TOR SS 22.59 The more I think about it, the more I am wanting to fade the price.
Corey Seager LAD SS 37.39 Skills are fire, but I still worry about injury risk.
Gleyber Torres NYY SS 66.59 Should bounceback after lackluster 2020
Javier Baez CHC SS 66.36 Getting to watch video in game again should help him bounceback.
Marcus Semien TOR SS 114.04 Love the move to Toronto!
Dansby Swanson ATL SS 102.27 We have had our differences in the past, but I am willing to draft him now.
Andres Gimenez CLE 2B, 3B, SS 159.68 Cleveland is a great landing spot for Gimenez.
Carlos Correa HOU SS 123.27 I still believe the talent is there, but is the health?
Tommy Edman STL 2B, 3B, SS, OF 128.64 I think there is enough pop and speed with a great flexibility.
Didi Gregorius PHI SS 155.04 Resigning in Philly was one of the best spots for him.
Paul DeJong STL SS 208.96 I am willing to overlook 2020 because it was such a weird season for the Cardinals.
Ha-seong Kim 김하성 SD SS 223.96 Crowded situation in San Diego has me worried about playing time.
Jorge Polanco MIN SS 233.25 Addition of Simmons and move to second base make me a bit worried about his playing time if he struggles at all.
Chris Taylor LAD 2B, SS, OF 229.93 Taylor always seems to outproduce his ADP and he should play close to everyday.
Willy Adames TB SS 344.7 At worst, he is a compiler, but I think there is more there.
Elvis Andrus OAK SS 302.3 Love the landing spot in Oakland and I think he will be undervalued this year.
Isiah Kiner-Falefa TEX 3B, SS 288.82 Locked into playing time now.
David Fletcher LAA 2B, 3B, SS 238.3 Going to lead off, but has no power or speed.
J.P. Crawford SEA SS 363.21 Led off in every game he played after July 28th
Willi Castro DET 3B, SS 253.21 Showed more pop than I thought was there and less speed. Don’t know what to expect here.
Jonathan Villar NYM 2B, SS 204.98 Awful landing spot for Villar makes it hard to draft him.
Mauricio Dubon SF 2B, SS, OF 280.39 I think he will play a lot, but he is a future utility guy.
Amed Rosario CLE SS 289.48 I hope there is enough playing time for him.
Jake Cronenworth SD 1B, 2B, SS 239.8 Until we know the DH is coming, he doesn’t have a place to play regularly.
Joey Wendle TB 2B, 3B, SS 330.29 Strong side platoon is still a platoon.
Wander Franco TB SS 304.48 The question isn’t talent. It is when he will arrive
Nick Ahmed ARZ SS 353.48 Defense lets him compile
Miguel Rojas MIA SS 382.32 Could be a 10/10 guy with a decent average.
Nico Hoerner CHC 2B, SS 407.71 Could accumulate in Chicago.
Niko Goodrum DET 2B, SS 411.18 Now on the outside looking in.
Orlando Arcia MLW SS 450.73 Still young enough to put it all together.
Jazz Chisholm MIA 2B, SS 438 There is power and speed, but will he strike out too much.
Freddy Galvis BAL 2B, SS 429.93 Could compile just by playing every day.
Luis Urias MLW 2B, 3B, SS 396.38 Should play every day, but bats at the bottom.
Jose Iglesias LAA SS 416.46 Not going to repeat 2020, but could have deep league value.
Andrelton Simmons MIN SS 388.46 Will play every day, but I don’t think that matters much
Brandon Crawford SF SS 483.04 80 grade hair.
Erik Gonzalez PIT 3B, SS 578.46 Will play everyday in Pittsburgh, but there is limited upside.
Oneil Cruz PIT SS 731.5 When will he be up?
Kevin Newman PIT 2B, SS 439.84 No place to play at the moment
Pat Valaika BAL 1B, 2B, SS 515.91 weak side platoon player
Kyle Farmer CIN 2B, SS 571.11 Going to play, but I don’t know if that means much
Jose Garcia CIN SS 630.91 Needs more minor league time.
ADP is from NFBC Draft Champions over the last month

If Newman hits at all, he will play more than Gonzalez, who is more of a utility guy.
