Throwing Heat Week 10

Kamil Krzaczynski-USA TODAY Sports

The season has begun and we are back with Throwing Heat! For those who didn’t read these articles last season, this weekly article focuses on pitchers who are pitching well. When we are further into the season it will be based on a pitcher’s previous three starts but for now, it will just be their most recent starts.

This article’s beauty is that it highlights all types of pitchers from the best in the league to pitchers who are barely rostered. If someone is on a hot streak they will be in this article. I will also tell you if the hot streak is legit or if it appears to be a facade. I hope you enjoy it!

Transcript is below!

1:03

Paul Sporer: Hello everyone! Let’s talk some baseball!!

1:03

Mac: Strider or Roansy long-term?

1:04

Paul Sporer: Strider for me! He looks every bit like a legit SP

1:05

Jake: think snell figures it out this year? under the hood doesn’t look that far off from career numbers but he’s been tough even in shallow leagues

1:05

Paul Sporer: The tough part is when command goes in and out, he can be great for 3-4 IP and then off for 1-2 and those 1-2 can be killer

1:06

Slurve: Hi Paul! Would you rather start Gonsolin vs SD or Javier vs LAA?

Big Kid Adds (6/28/22)

While the NFBC Main Event garners most of the attention, there are a handful of leagues with even a larger entry fee ($2.5K to $15K). They get originally named “High Stakes Leagues” and this year there are nine of them. With so much money on the line, these fantasy managers are going to try to gain any advantage. Most of the time, these managers will be a week or two ahead of everyone else on their adds. Here are the players and some information on the ones added in five or more of these leagues.

Bullpen Report: June 29, 2022

The 2022 version of Bullpen Report includes five different sections, as well as the closer chart, which can be found at the bottom of the page.

  1. Notable Workloads: Primary closers or valuable members of a closer committee who have been deemed unavailable or likely unavailable for the current day due to recent workload.
  2. Injury News
  3. Outlier Saves: Explanation for a non-closer earning a save during the previous day.
  4. Committee Clarity: Notes on a closer committee that clarify a pitcher’s standing in the group.
  5. Losing A Grip: Struggling closers who could be on the hot seat.

The “RosterResource” link will take you to the corresponding team’s RosterResource depth chart, which will give you a better picture of the full bullpen and results of the previous six days (pitch count, save, hold, win, loss, blown save.)
