Archive for Chat

Justin Mason: Hey everyone! Sorry about starting late. It is going to be a shorter chat today (30-40 minutes) as I am fighting a bad cold. I am going to try and skip around to answer a variety of questions today, so I am not answer multiple questions about the same players. Please give me format and size of leagues for context. Just a reminder that I will answer as many questions as I can, but please don’t repeat questions. If I can’t get to your questions then hit me up on facebook at https://www.facebook.com/profile.php?id=100008744507752 or on twitter @justinmasonfwfb.

Mike: Soroka, Heaney, Bundy, Flaherty, Castillo, Fulmer ROS

Justin Mason: I lean Heaney, but there is risk that they limit his innings. I don’t know if they can with their lack of depth in the rotation though.

Jammer: Any hope for Murphy this season? Is snell for him too much given he looks completely hobbled or gamble on the upside ?

Justin Mason: I think he is a risky gamble. There is upside, but I really prefer Snell going forward.

Kyle: Rendon, Devers and Andujar who’s next 3 years are the brightest?

Jeff Zimmerman: Hello. I’ve spent the afternoon watching the Incredibles 2 with my kids so I may not be up-to-date on any breaking news.

Justin Mason: Hey everyone! Let’s have some fun. I am going to try and skip around to answer a variety of questions today, so I am not answer multiple questions about the same players. Justin Mason: Sorry about the late start. Was having some issues.

yojiveself: Trust Taillon (vs Mil, Az) and Pivetta (vs StL and Was) next week?  Pivetta has been scuffling lately and I am not sure if I like Taillon’s opponents.  Thanks!

Justin Mason: I trust both to some extent. Taillion over Pvetta for those starts.

yojiveself: Now that Rhys is back, is he back-back?  He’s started to hit but the Col staff isn’t that great.

Justin Mason: I trust him to readjust to what pitchers were doing against him. Just traded for him in Tout H2H

Stonecutter: In need of steals. Would you trade Correa for Turner?

Brad Johnson: Yea, classic swap

Brad Johnson: I’ve definitely won seasons trading a better player for Dee Gordon. Turner has better all-around production and similar stealing ability

Big Tuna: With Soroka coming off the DL in a 12 tm, would you drop Kingham or Manaea?

Brad Johnson: I would

Brad Johnson: I think Soroka has a slightly more stable profile than them.

Paul Sporer: Justin’s a bit under the weather, so he called the bullpen and brought in the righty! Let’s roll!!!

Kevin: What do we make of Max Muncy?

Paul Sporer: Looks like a real find for the Dodgers. Altered his swing and untapped power. .260/15 HR rest of way feels safe

Raji: Is Joe Musgrove a must add in 12 a teamer?

Paul Sporer: Ya he should be off the wire for sure

Cory: Paul, in a keeper league would you trade Quintana for Pham?  I need hitting and I think with FanGraphs’ help, I can find pitching…

Jeff Zimmerman: Hello everyone.

Jeff Zimmerman: Just for reference, I’m going to try to answer all the FAAB and waiver questions first and then possibly go back for trade talk or player analysis.

Jeff Zimmerman: First, here are the bids from the two 15-team mixed Tout Wars leagues.

Paul Sporer: It’s time to talk some baseball!

DB: Ohtani 🙁

Paul Sporer: It sucks. Grade 2 UCL sprain puts him to the DL 🙁

Parts + Gleyber: (T for Teoscar, naturally)

Paul Sporer: Yesss

Parts + Gleyber: Is it ok to think of Teoscar Hernandez as “Push” thanks to my obsession with the Pusha T album?

Brad Johnson: Hey folks, we’ll get started in a few minutes. In the meantime, if you like DFS, we have a pretty hefty overlay in today’s TDG Invitational – https://www.fangraphs.com/fantasy/the-daily-grind-bird-lives/

Brad Johnson: Presently, a $2 entry is worth $3.10. You may enter twice. It’s on FantasyDraft.

Kiermaier’s Irritable Bowel: Hi Brad.

Brad Johnson: Hi KIB

HappyFunBall: I seem to be stuck in a league where no one trades becaues everyone simultaneously overvalues their high performers (because of course, it will continue) and yet at the same time refuses to devalue their disappointing stars (because of course, it will NOT continue)

Am I going to have to win this thing with WW pickups and then just taunt them all mercilessly?

Brad Johnson: Yes. This, unfortunately, is the most common equilibrium status for a redraft league

Jeff Zimmerman: OK, it’s time to get the chat started. First, here are the Tout Wars FAAB reports for the two mixed leagues
