Paul Sporer Baseball Chat – May 5th, 2017
Transcript is below!!
Below you will find the transcript from today’s chat. It was a weird one.
3:41 |
: So what shall we discuss today? There’s always a couple recurring questions. |
3:41 |
: I’m very bad at my job…. |
3:42 |
: As good a topic to start with as any. The Mets seemingly have no capacity for managing their medical issues |
3:42 |
: They have the same problems as every other team, but they always make themselves look so hapless |
3:43 |
: With Thames’ impending OF eligibility in Ottoneu, who are some good 1B/Util upside plays to replace him with? I have Reynolds & Carter rostered but they’re part-timers. I put in a bid for Valbueno. Any other suggestions? |
3:44 |
: You probably aren’t going to find instant gratification on the wire. You may even be better off leaving him at utility. So many interesting outfielders available. |
Looooootttssss of Eric Thames as well as plenty on Carlos Martinez, Michael Wacha, Jose Bautista, and Lance McCullers. Plus, much more!
Today’s chat honoring the life and deeds of Starling Marte is complete. The answer to the last question is Jesse Hahn. If anybody knows Pete, tell him to come collect his prize.
3:51 |
: I’m sitting here pondering the age old question of unicorns or eunuch horns. Perhaps it’s time to start. |
3:51 |
: Which?
Unicorns (49.0% | 25 votes)
Eunuch Horns (50.9% | 26 votes)
Total Votes: 51
|
3:51 |
: Oops |
3:51 |
: Yea, so let’s get this out of the way. |
3:52 |
: You’re all going to ask about Austin Meadows, I think we’ll see him for a 1-2 months of these 80 games |
3:53 |
: For now, Adam Frazier will continue to absorb OF starts. Maybe we see some Bell out there too. Alen Hanson seems like he should be utile enough to do some OF too. |
We went over four hours! Lots of pickup and “slow start” chatter. I’m not really worried about any top 15ish round picks so far, but definitely open to making moves on late rounders who are meant to be churned.
Check out today’s chat. Lots of questions on Dylan Bundy, Kendall Graveman, and Brandon Finnegan.
Here’ the transcript for today’s Kendall Graveman/Charlie Morton/Delino DeShields themed chat.
11:29 |
: Let’s talk some baseball! |
11:29 |
: 30 home runs in 14 games included four! multi-homer games |
11:29 |
: is it too soon to say the HRs are back? |
11:29 |
: Who’s your bet to get save chances in Oakland? |
11:29 |
: Sean Doolittle is their best reliever |
11:29 |
: sounds like it’ll be a hodge-podge for awhile |
2:01 |
: Ladies and gentlmen, we are 2 days away from regular season games!!!! Let’s go!
|
2:01 |
: better JD Martinez replacement: Mitch Haniger or Josh Bell?
|
2:01 |
: Haniger
|
2:01 |
: am I delicious?
|
2:01 |
: obv
|
2:01 |
: Hey Paul, are you not doing the weekly pitcher rankings at Rotowire this year?
|
Here’s the transcript from today’s 100 minute chat. See ya next week.
10:21 |
: Hello everyone, I’m going to take the next couple minutes to finally renew my MLB.tv, then we’ll get started
|
10:26 |
: How worried should the Mets be about Steven Matz long term? I understand he is young and sometimes these guys just all of a sudden stay healthy for 3,4,5 years but this is becoming very troubling.
|
10:28 |
: Pitcher health is always a pain for us fantasy owners. Everybody is a long term concern. That said, Matz certainly isn’t winning the “health as a skill” championship
|
10:28 |
: I think it’s time to treat him like a Francisco Liriano – promising when everything is clicking, but so frequently out of sorts
|
10:28 |
: Thanks for the bonus chat! 4th pick in a 12 team draft today. Kershaw Betts Altuve Bryant. Please rank assuming some are available
|
10:29 |
: So…these are the types of questions I don’t like 🙂
