Thursday Off-Day Lineups

While I try to examine all the teams’ lineups at once, I wanted to spend more time with each team after the trade deadline. I started with the eight teams who were idle on Thursday since no new information would be coming from them.

American League

Astros

• Daulton Varsho started each game in center field while batting cleanup.

• Taylor Trammell (.720 OPS, 6 HR, 3 SB in 176 PA) started 10 straight games.

Rangers

• Jake Burger (.718 OPS) sat twice in the last four games with Joc Pederson (.840 OPS) at first base. Pederson has a total of six games at first base.

Rays

• Liam Hicks started both games since joining the team at catcher and first base.

Yankees

• Luis García Jr. started three straight games since being traded, all against right-handers.

• Heliot Ramos hit fourth since being traded.

• George Lombard Jr. started the last two games at shortstop while batting eighth since being promoted.

National League

Cardinals

• Someone will take over Lars Nootbaar’s spot in the outfield, but with Jordan Walker also banged up, it’s tough to tell who’s going to be a regular. It seems like Nathan Church (.649 OPS) is no longer in a platoon.

Dodgers

• No changes except Ben Rortvedt (2 PA) and Hunter Feduccia (.633 OPS) are the team’s current catchers.

Giants

• Jung Hoo Lee now bats second.

• Daniel Susac started in five of the last eight games.

• Grant McCray (.500 OPS) started the last three games in the outfield (LF, CF) while batting at the bottom of the order.

• Since being promoted, Eddys Leonard (16 HR, 8 SB, .272 AVG in AAA) started the last two games in left field while batting at the bottom of the order. Here are some talent comps. Not an inspiring list.

Rockies

• No changes; the bottom half remains a mess. While the team traded Brenton Doyle, he only played in two major league games since mid-May.

Why bring Agustin Ramirez up to sit him, and then when you use him bat him 3rd?!?! He isnt worth owning even in a super deep dynasty league (1C, but having two is a nice advantage…and like Masyn Winn is a rosterable person)
