Jeff Zimmerman: Manaea … I don’t see another that sticks out. Maybe Gonsolin

Triples Alley: For the M-W, any hitters you would pick over Bryan Reynolds or Tommy Pham? Maybe Brendan Donovan or Olivares? Seeking power.

Jeff Zimmerman: Reynolds for sure. Not sold on the other two being any better

Frank: If you need wins and Ks are you playing any of Springs, Gilbert or Rasmussen

Jeff Zimmerman: Gilbert. I like the Mariners since they will be playing for home field

Manuel Rodriguez: Am I the Cubs closer this week and the favorite to start the 2023 season?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes for this week, no for next season. I see the team starting with a “proven” cheap guy

Mets fan: Do you see Tylor Megill back as  one of the starting five for the Mets next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: Who is he going to replace? I think he might be worth a 35th or later D&H pick

Skippy: 12 team 5X5 AL only league.  SV+HO/2 category. Barren free agent pool, tight race but I could slip into 3rd place with a few holds in the next few days. Anyone interest you from this list:  Aaron Loup, Jose Quijida, David Phelps, Hentges (thought they are resting him), Schmidt, Murfee, Wantz, Iggy Pop…help

Jeff Zimmerman: No one sticks out … Quijida is number one

Otto: Too cute starting Glenn Otto in hopes of a scrub NYY lineup game 162?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t think the Yankees will play all scrubs (maybe no injured guys). They have at least three days to rest. I think they will want their best getting a few reps

Not Evan: Does Shohei get a full start this week, or do the Angels pull him pretty early to protect the arm? I can never remember how eliminated teams handle their aces at the end of the season.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think Ohtani will go for at least a Win and if more (e.g. CG shutout). It’s the last time for MVP voters to see him.

Sean Murphy: Am I playing next week? Or should I be turned into Stassi for $1?

Jeff Zimmerman: I hate bottom feeding for catchers because of these choices. I think I might go with Murphy.

The Batman: In a QS league where my top needs are no meltdowns and getting a win, who would you pick: A. Sampson or Lauer?

Jeff Zimmerman: Sampson

Matt: Rotowire OC, up 4 saves on 2nd (he has 2 closers), roll with one or two closers and the rest SPs? Wins are close…

Jeff Zimmerman: I might go with one or none. Add players to do both. A guy last week who was 3 behind dropped all his closers and went for wins. It was safe for me to go just Wins and K’s . I moved into 3rd place (and the $2K payday).

Other SP: Someone dropped Eovaldi and Civale. Over Elder? Over Ober? Need W without ruining WHIP

Jeff Zimmerman: With WHIP being a concern, Ober is the easy #1

Jeff Zimmerman: Elder or Civale for me

Fan: I’m out of the playoffs, but am looking for keeper prospects for 2023. Do you have any off the radar names, or just players that didn’t begin this season squarely on the radar, who will be big in fantasy 2023?

Jeff Zimmerman: No, I had to make my call and just took the top-3 guys on James Anderson’s top-400 prospects.

Richard: Thanks for all your help this season, Jeff. 3 FAAB teams, and 2 are in first, the other 3rd. Your help each week has been invaluable. Even helped in an overall! No questions this week. Just appreciation!

Jeff Zimmerman: My season is far from over. I could be +/- $10K depending on the next three days. I have 11 playing leagues that aren’t settled.

Cody Morris: Am I done for the the reg. season?

Jeff Zimmerman: There was a note at MLBTR that you are in the bullpen

Jeff Zimmerman: So done as a starter

Matt: Need W’s…Giolito, Gray, Keller, Heaney, Flaherty…how would you rank for this week (most likely to get W’s). Heaney and Flaherty not starting but could piggyback which might be better

Jeff Zimmerman: I like Gray and agree with you on Heaney and Flaherty.

Rush: Haven’t seen anything announced yet, but do you think Muller starts on Tuesday against Miami? Worth adding speculatively anyways just for the potential matchup?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think it comes down to the division. ATL is going to want that bye and will keep throwing their studs. We probably won’t know the staffs when lineups lock on Monday

Rush: You think any teams rest their stars?

Jeff Zimmerman: The teams set in the Wildcard round. Cleveland and St Louis.

Watching football: “my top needs are no meltdowns and getting a win”  +1

Jeff Zimmerman: I need a .300 AVG 30 HR guy who could steal some bases. Are there any on the wire?

Joe: how would you handle this?  a team out of the playoffs drops F. Valdez, T. McKenzie and a host of others for players currently no longer playing in the MLB (E. Encarnacion, R. Goins, etc.)…McKenzie and Valdez both waivered by playoff teams while still competing for money…commissioner does nothing…thoughts??  and thank you for all the chats this season …:)

Jeff Zimmerman: That is straight-up bullshit. They need to be removed and if not, get out of the league because the commish is likely behind the drops.

Jeff Zimmerman: I might, he is on some of my bid lists

JoeG: I know he’s on the “strong” side of the platoon, but Will Brennan is a hot hitter. Maybe the power will develop. Should start 2/3. Thoughts ?

Jeff Zimmerman: The power ain’t happening in two days. It all depends on the other options.

Steve: I’m in a tight battle for wins and Ks. Who’s the best out of R. Hill, Eovaldi, D. Martin, Lorenzen and Muller?

Joe: re: the Valdez/McKenzie drops…Commissioner quit in June because his team sucked and then he just stops paying attention to anything, commissions when it’s convenient to him I guess and these transactions were brought to the entire league’s attention, still no changes…800 dollars available in the pool and I finished second to a team that won his semifinal by the difference of a McKenzie start…if he doesn’t have McKenzie, I beat that other team!   such bullshit is right…thanks again for your help this season…

Jeff Zimmerman: One item I’d recommend is a second person with commish abilities. Real life can get in the way and league should suffer becuase of that

Watching football: How many teams are likely to place bids for M-W in a 12 team roto league?  I’m thinking about 3-4 teams max per league with the rest checked out.

Jeff Zimmerman: It depends on how close the teams are to placing or cash. One item is that in some leagues I’m doing a major turnover to get arms going and I have 8 moves myself. The number of people doing it might be low with the same number of moves

Jeff Zimmerman: One thing you might check on mid-week move leagues is to see who made moves on Friday. If they didn’t, they might be checked out.

Tout: How many weeks was the manager who dropped hammer not paying attention prior to his reappearance?

Jeff Zimmerman: It was a competitive team who is in reach of second place. I’m not sure why they sandbagged.

Drew: Are you trusting Glasnow if you need ratio help/protection?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t trust anyone. I just throw out the best arms and hope for the best.

Jeff Zimmerman: Chase Anderson like blowups just suck

Guest: How would you rank these guys for next year in a keeper league?
Darick Hall, Yonathan Daza, Cal Mitchell, TJ Friedl, Cal Mitchell, Miguel Andujar, Ji Hwan Bae, Esteban Quiroz.

Jeff Zimmerman: Depending on the league depth, I would just throw them into the pool and use the extra draft picks

Jeff Zimmerman: They were all waiver wire adds this season.

WHIP Pets: Close with the next guy on WHIP & don’t need Ks. He’s starting a lot of RP.  Gotta bench Hunter Greene right?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably. Those moves suck.

Chris: Thanks for all the chats, Jeff. I wonder why the razzball projections seem to be consistently high on Jon Berti? Is it because of the steals potential, i.e. if I don’t need steals specifically I should subtract a little from his $value?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably steals, AVG, and Runs. If you aren’t in a Roto league, they have various settings.
