Closer carousel: Merryweather or Romano as closer for Jays? Reyes for Cards? Castillo in TB? Who in Det and Bal  and Oak?

Jeff Zimmerman: This question saves me a ton of time with the others being asked.

Jeff Zimmerman: Tor: I think it’s Romano’s right now and if he does the job, Merryweather sets up. Comparable to Hader and Williams last year

Mikey V: do You believe in Isbel or Mercedes? How much Faab if so?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes on both

Jeff Zimmerman: Isbel’s defense is MLB ready and he has a line drive swing with 25 SB potential. He’s hit a ball 110 MPH, so he’s not devoid of power. Think Whit Merrifield but a lower batting average. Victor Robles but fewer steals.

Jeff Zimmerman: Mercedes can hit and always has, but he’s a DH only. Vaughn is in the OF because of him.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’ll not move off the DH only designation.

Roundabout: Holds league, Chris Martin or Chad Green?

Jeff Zimmerman: Green for now with Martin hurt

OFers: Tyler O’Neill or Michael A.Taylor (5×5)?

Jeff Zimmerman: Taylor for now. With his reworked swing, he could be a 20/20 threat

Stick to Sporertz-ball: Thanks for your help.  Very thin at 1B with Vaughn as my only option.  Yuli and Evan White and Garret Cooper my only options on the waiver.  Which direction would you go until/if Vaughn gets more playing time from TLR?

Pete Rose: My team is decimated by injuries.  Need some replacement bats in OBP league.   Like any of these guys on the wire: Segura, N Lowe, Aguilar, Grossman, Mullins, Riley, J Polanco, J Rojas.

Jeff Zimmerman: They’d all be added in my leagues. I’d just stay away frm Rojas until he starts hitting

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold Soria for this week to find out the extent of the injury. he could be the closer in 3 days.

Scott: NL ONLY, if your needing SP what would be your max bid on T Widener?

Jeff Zimmerman: He looked good. 10% to 25%. So few guys pop up IMO. It sucks he threw today so he’s in everyone’s mind

Quarantino Martinez: How aggressive should we be on Merryweather in AL only? Skills look great, and today’s usage seemed straightforward.

Jeff Zimmerman: I saw him going for 20% to 40% in Mixed leagues. It might be nuts in AL-only. That said, I’d not go too much. I limit myself to 10% on closers. The investment in them rarely pay off

Jeff Zimmerman: I think it might be in the 20% to 50% range and as I’ve said early, that’s not for me. It’s so early. Wait

Jeff Zimmerman: Rodon and…. no others. I don’t like their starts next week. If I had to pick, Pivetta but bench him. It’s two starts to evaluate if you want to keep or dump him

Jeff Zimmerman: I’ll stream COL pitchers on the road, but I don’t want them clogging my bench. If I miss out, oh well.

Get vaccinated: Closer advice on KC and CLE? Do I stick with Holland? Handcuffs available on the wire. Drop Wittgren or hold? (Drop to get Barlow or WDavis?)

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold Whittgren for the week. It has been 3 games

Jeff Zimmerman: As for KC, I’d stick with Holland but grab a handcuff for now.

Sir Farts A Lot: Yermin Mercedes needs five starts at catcher to gain eligibility there in Yahoo!, do you think it’ll happen soonish or is that a pipe dream?

DH Only: Hi Jeff. I’ve got 2 UTIL only guys on my AL only squad (Stanton and Ohtani) so there’s no chance of playing both as bats. How aggressive do I need to be dealing one of them?

Jeff Zimmerman: Farely but don’t act desperate. Also, don’t be afraid to move the “hot” one. The goal is to get a decent return for one of them

cg: Weekly waivers H2H and need holds this week. Drop Chris Martin for Keone Kela based on this “finger buzzing” issue?

Jeff Zimmerman: Hopefully you can find someone better than Kela out there

Bruce: 15 team Mixed league FAAB thoughts on pop up closers, Merryweather and Valdez?

Jeff Zimmerman: Merryweather I’ve discussed. As for Valdez, he had a ton of early hype and was added in more leagues than Valdez. I’m guessing Valdez will go in the 5% to 20% range, but I’d bet on the low end.

Q: Pls rank SP/RPs Suter, Antone, Merryweather, Wisler, Loaisiga for ratios + holds.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d go Scott, but it’s like picking a favorite pile of dog poop.
