Jake: If Realmuto ends up going IL would I be better off just running without a catcher and streaming extra

Jeff Zimmerman: I think there could be options. Wolters has the next week at home. Huff got promoted.

Jake: Can Mondesi sustain his production

Jeff Zimmerman: The .249 OBP, I hope so.  With the Royals out of the playoff picture, at least he won’t get demoted. A .580 OPS can’t get it.

Jake: So I’m playing against Mondesi in the playoffs this week so that means I badly need speed… what are some options? Worth it to drop Dalbec for Tapia? Are Wendle and Leody Tavares legit? Anyone else you can think of?

Jeff Zimmerman: Why not ignore SB and dominate the other categories.

Jeff Zimmerman: This is one of the worst weeks for starters. A mess every where.

Jeff Zimmerman: Flemming, Garcia, Kremer (I think 2 starts the last week), Bubic, Allard.

Jake: Confidence in Taylor Clarke this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: None and I think he lost his two-step

Jake: Do you trust LJay Newsome?

Jeff Zimmerman: If the season wasn’t ending in two weeks and Newsome had only one start each week … I’d target him in all leagues. So far the skill set looks legit.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’ll end up on some 2021 sleeper lists.

Don’t call me Chuck: Been enjoying Daniel Norris as multi inning follower in al only. How would you rank him vs the starters in your waiver wire piece? +/- Bubic?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not so far but not all my FAAB as run. He’s on some bid lists.

Sam Adams: Dobnak and Gallen both exploded last two times out. Is Dob a streamer now? Holding Gallen tho.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m rolling both out right now in most leagues. I’m at least holding Dob for his 2 starts in the last week.

Jake: How long will it take for Bregman to get back into form?

Jeff Zimmerman: Good question and from quotes this short preseason, it’s probably 60 PA at the top end. I don’t know how many he did in prep.

Tex: I need some power this week. Starting G Cooper and his 9 games, or O’Neill and his 10?

Jeff Zimmerman: Both?

O’s my!: Need power…Do you like DJ Stewart ROS more than Encarnacion, Dozier, or Andujar?

Jeff Zimmerman: I take Stewart over Andujar. I not sure of his playing time with several Yankees coming off the IL

Maestro: Hearing Austin Hays might be back soon. He had a great end to the 2019 season, do you think he can do that again this year?

Jeff Zimmerman: I wouldn’t count on it.

dave in slc: would you pick up junior guerra in nl only if you need saves?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, also the Miami setup men can be added with all the games coming up.

John: So you believe in Jared Walsh, both for remainder of this year and into next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes for 2020. I’m worried Pujols and Ohtani will steal at bats from him next year.

Mike: What’s the deal with Walsh from the Angels. Worth a pickup in 12 team mixed. What % of FAAB? Thanks

Jeff Zimmerman: 50% if he’s needed. What are teams saving the FAAB for?

David: My opponent last week had 15 starts, got 3 wins. A better approach to look for middle relievers with good Ks and ratios and let the wins take care of themselves?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know what is the right approach. I have a feeling IP need to replace Wins

Jeff Zimmerman: Wins are fickle with relievers also.

Chip Chipperson: Is Jake the only person asking questions tonight?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t even look at the names. I’ve been “disciplined” for some of the names that I’ve allowed.

Salty: Hi Jeff – there’s word Teoscar might come back mid-week.  Expecting a return to his value pre-injury might be ambitious – I’m afraid he’s trying to get back into a playoff race at less than full strength.  What do you think?

New to Roto: I’m barely clinging to first. Need to improve WHIP quick. Should I pick up best SPs available (L.Garcia, T.Rogers…) or grab relievers, watch usage, and pray?   Daily league. 2 transaction limit weekly. no faab

Chip Chipperson: Jeff.  My Uncle Paul told me the other day that he thinks Vince Coleman was a better baserunner for the Cardinals than the recently departed Lou Brock.  I think Brock was better and has the numbers to prove he was the best all-time Cardinals baserunner.  What say you?

Jeff Zimmerman: Coleman was a bad stealer. I think McGee was better. It was just that Coleman went all the time.
