Don Juan: Mike Trout replacement: Aristides Aquino (6 games including Darvish and DeGrom) or Jason Heyward (7 games) in a weekly championship matchup?

Jeff Zimmerman: Heyward is the safe play. Aquino has struggled in September (.458 OPS) but has insane upside.

DW: Your thoughts on Starling Marte.  Can you really see Pitt playing him much down the stretch with a wrist injury?  K. Tucker, Hoerner and Kyle Lewis are all available.  Also–Soroka or Civale this week??   Thanks for the advice.

Jeff Zimmerman: I dumped Marte. No news means it’s bad IMO. I like Lewis, then Hoerner, then Tucker

another bad dynasty manager: Jeff: I’m in a deep keeper pts league.  Next week after the finals are over trading resumes.  I have a ton of bats for a league this deep ( P. Alonso, K. Marte, C. Seager, Chapman, Hiura, Voit, Laureano, and Olson of Oakland).  Apart from Montas, Allard and maybe Archer I have no keeper type SPs.  Which one of these excess bats can get me a decent starter? FYI: I’m reluctant to part with Seager, Alonso or Hiura.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d dangle Marte. I think he had a career season. Chapman might get you the most in return

Tony C: In super tight race, key categories are AB, HR, and RBI. I am only team with FAAB $…but only $1. Choices are Kyle Lewis, Murphy from Oakland, or, Christin Stewart, or Toro-Hernandez.Thoughts?

Jeff Zimmerman: Put the $1 on Lewis IMO

another bad dynasty manager: Does N. Pearson of Toronto have any trade value in a deep dynasty league?  My keeper starters are bad, but I have the bats to add a prospect arm to any deal.

Jeff Zimmerman: He will. He might be the #1 pitching prospect coming into 2020. Just hold on until the rankings start coming out.

another bad dynasty manager: Voit for Yarbrough or Alcantara in a deep pts league, where Ws and Ls dont matter. Who says no?

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on needs. It’s an even trade. Maybe the Voit owner more often than not.

MikeyN: James Karinchak a worthy add? AL only keeper league, curious your thoughts on his skill set.

Jeff Zimmerman: Might be worth adding. His stock could go up in the playoffs.

Pat’s Bat: Why did Kyle Gibson pitch an inning today?  are his juicy matchups over the next two weeks in jeopardy?

Pat’s Bat: I thought I had my pitching all pre streamed for the final 2 weeks and H2H playoffs but now I have a couple questions.  Quintana and Houser have looked terrible.  Are they trustworthy with the soft schedule coming up?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think so. It’s tough to find other options. I’ve focused on Stripling and Alcantara

another bad dynasty manager: Jeff: with the changes seen in real baseball (lots of #3 and #4 SPs throwing only 4+ innings and being replaced by a long reliever), should fantasy leagues change either their cats or points structures to reflect this rapid change?  Or is this a fad that will end?

Jeff Zimmerman: The real game is changing and the value of certain players (aces) are going to change with it.

Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t change right now. The only move I’ve seen done is lower the required min. innings in some leagues.

down to the wire: Any more word on Brad Hand? He was supposed to throw a bullpen today. He and Wittgren are both on the wire for championship week.  I only have two more transactions left. With Will Smith back, my Anderson lost save potential. Either of the Indians worth a gamble?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t think gambling on them is worth it. The situation is extremely fustrating.

Pat’s Bat: Which 3B has more H2H value in 2020: Hunter Dozier or Miguel Sano?

Jeff Zimmerman: Competitive in the near future (1-3 years): Flaherty. If not, Albies. Maybe take both and trade them

I like beer: Can Huira go 35/20 next year and maintain .300 avg.?

Jeff Zimmerman: No idea. I’ll wait to see what the projections say first

Skipper: H2H playoffs round 2, regular 5×5 scoring, which 3 of these 5 should I use in my lineup: Corey Seager (2vsTB, 3vs COL) – only 5 games; Willie Calhoun (2@HOU, 3@OAK) – 5 games on the road, including Verlander & Cole starts; R. Laureano (3vsKC, 3vsTEX) – 2 juicy matchups, but don’t know how many starts he’ll make; B. Gardner (3vsLAA, 3vsTOR) – 3 starts vs. LHP; L. Gourriel (3@BAL, 3@NYY) – love a trip to Baltimore, but also not guaranteed to play every day.

TRANE: Need help, basically what others are saying, Twins yesterday announced they were having 2 bullpen games, I put Thorpe only to see him start the 2nd game, which put me over the starting limit, now I’m losing all (grienke, paxton folty) points from yesterday. I alerted the LM right away that I would have not have started Thorpe BEFORE the game started but since DH roster was locked. They are not giving me the benefit of the doubt, Any advice?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think you’re hosed and would be if I managed the league. You took a chance and it back fired. Sucks.

Dan: Carlos Correa a viable option next week?

Jeff Zimmerman: No, not really. Sounds like he still isn’t ready

Skipper: Best 2nd catcher for next week: Will Smith (4 for last 34); Narvaez (@PIT, @BAL) 4/6 vs RHP; d’Arnaud (short week at LAD and BOS); Astudillo (been starting every game for Twins).  Thanks for all the help!

Jeff: H2H categories final, opponent has good SP volume but not quality (9 starts to my 6). Have Darvish-Corbin-Wheeler-Lyles-German. Do I add Bundy’s two starts?

Jeff Zimmerman: I might, even for Wheeler. His 2H results are way down. Not the same pitcher.

Bad Decisions: 10 team H2H championship this week. Drop Brantley/Hou 5g, Seager/Sea 6g, or Newman/Pit 6g for Moose/Mil 7g. Can possibly win SB without Newman, and enough flexibility on roster, position not significant. Appreciate your help thru season

Jeff Zimmerman: I like Moose from this list but it’s close. Damn close with Brantley and Seager. Drop Newman

Jon: Do you see any of Anthony Bass/Hunter Harvey/Emmanuel Clase/Scott Oberg as potential closers next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: Harvey yes. Oberg yes. No on the other two for now.

Jake: How are you feeling about Franmil Reyes as a cheap keeper option in a 14 team, 5 OF league? Do you think he’s a lock for 30-40 HR with a low average?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s a fine keeper just as long as you know what you re getting from him

JDM: Thanks for all the help this year.   Pick one for next year, OPS league, Carson Kelly or Sean Murphy.

Jeff Zimmerman: This is close.

Kyle: any prospects that I should pick up for 2020 that are likely available in most leagues?

Jeff Zimmerman: Just start going down the top-100 lists, maybe focus on guys who ended their season in AA or AAA.

TP: Where would Johnny Cueto rank on your top 100 SP list?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t do a top 100 but maybe 75 to 125. A #5 to #7 in a 15-teamer.
