7:34
Hans Hanser Hansest: Woj, Urquidy, or Keller for this week? Saw the first 2 singled out by you earlier. Thanks!

7:34
Jeff Zimmerman: First two

7:35
Like a Bross(eau): Brosseau settling into short side platoon even before sogard. Cut for Jon Jay or Tauchman in al obp league?

7:35
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, the platoons are making it only 3-4 Rays hitters worth rostering

7:36
Cito’s Mustache: You mentioned Margot as a target for SB. In roto with both AVG and OBP is he an add for you over David Fletcher? I could use the SB but hitting leadoff in front of Trout is pretty tempting.

7:37
Jeff Zimmerman: Depends if you need every single steal. Edman (StL) and Inciarte are also options.

7:37
The Clerc: Jose Leclerc got a save chance and melted down. Cut for a steamer in my al only?

7:38
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold one week to make sure he’s lost the job. It’s tough to find closer in only’s

7:38
Tyler Durden: Is D. Castillo best bet for saves in TB? Yoan Lopez in Ari?

7:39
Jeff Zimmerman: I think you are right but don’t spend too much on Castillo. I believe Tampa will trade for a closer.

7:39
Sweetie Pie: Cinci’s Van Meter? What can you tell me about playing time possibility and prospect?

7:40
Jeff Zimmerman: He was a dual-threat in the minors and has been playing every day. If any  of the trade rumors coming out of CIN happen, he could become a regular.

7:40
Bower: Hi Jeff! A strange melt down for bauer today. Like the energy, hate the inconsistency.  Is he still a top 15 or so guy?

7:41
Jeff Zimmerman: 15 for sure, he was higher than this past year.

7:41
JoeG: Stream Barria Home vs Det. tomorrow? Deep Mixed 6×6 Roto

7:41
Jeff Zimmerman: Yep, I am in several spots. I even picked him up last week for the 2-step

7:41
Vader: What one hitter statistic do you rely on, xOBA?

7:43
Jeff Zimmerman: I come to OPS because it’s on every site. I know that an OPS under .650 means the player may be headed to the bench. Over .700 they are safe. And it correlates almost perfectly with wOBA

7:44
Jeff Zimmerman: Now, I do like xwOBA as a luck stat instead of HR/FB, BABIP, etc.

7:45
Curtis: Bo Bichette is available in one of my NFBC OCs (12 tm league).  I just picked up Luis Urias as my extra MI last weekend (Daniel Murphy, Polanco, and Segura, plus McNeil).  Only hitting change I was making this week as dropping Jackie Bradley (bench bat) for Margot, but could slot Bichette above Margot.  Other bench bats are Cron (on IL) and Vazquez (Contreras and d’Arnaud).  Thoughts?  Have $150 left.

7:45
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d slot above but you seem safe and I’d limit the did to $15. If you get him for that great. If not, you didn’t gut your team.

7:46
SP Streamer: Who do you like for week 18 SP streamer in CBS H2H Points League and in what order: Velasquez, Barria, Vargas, E. Hernandez, Payano? Any other options I am overlooking?

7:47
Jeff Zimmerman: Barria and Velasquez are 1 and 2. Velasquez has the Giants this week and two starts against the Giants again and home against CO

7:47
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d also be interested in Hernandez as a permanent add

7:48
Vader: Other than N Anderson, what new closer to be would you be bidding on before the deadline?

7:48
Jeff Zimmerman: Bummer

7:48
Jeff Zimmerman: Jimenez in Det

7:48
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d say Hudson, but I have a feeling he may get traded

7:49
Oliver: 12 team deepish bench keep 10 forever h2h roto. Drop Eovalidi (sitting on DL) and any of the following to add Bichette: f. Reyes, Dom Santana, Luchessi

7:49
Jeff Zimmerman: All of them but Eovaldi first. He’s had like few good months of production …ever.

7:50
Vader: Is W Smith a top 5 catcher next season?

7:50
Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure. I expect him to really struggle as he gets used to the staff and his hitting suffers

7:50
Oliver: McKay getting the call soon with Snell sidelined right?

7:51
Jeff Zimmerman: He was down because they could skip a start

7:51
Big Tuna: Would you drop Pence for Calhoun on VanMeter in a 12 tm OPS league?

7:51
Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on the Calhoun.

7:52
Jeff Zimmerman: I would drop Pence for VanMeter.

7:52
Vader: Gausman got roughed up today in Philly, is he still worth a bid in H2H ROS?

7:53
Jeff Zimmerman: I’m the lowest person you’ll ever find on Gausman. IMO, he’s useless.

7:53
CS: very deep NL only league, in what order do you like VanMeter, Duvall, Happ, A Dickerson?

7:53
Jeff Zimmerman: Dickerson, VanMeter, Happ, Duvall

7:53
Jim Nantz: JD Davis – do you think he’s looking at near full-time PT with Smith going on the DL (and maybe a Frazier trade)? If so, has to be 12 team viable, right?

7:54
Jeff Zimmerman: From what I’ve read, he’s supposed to be full time. I’m trying to pick him up where available.

7:54
NCKLM: Is Freddy Peralta really slotting in as high-leverage?  They’re still going to use Hader for 2IP save chances, right?

7:55
Jeff Zimmerman: I think they add a reliever or two but they will mix-and-match with Peralta maybe vulturing a few Saves.

7:56
Hobbs: In a 12 team points league, keep Poncedeleon, or try for Asher, Beede, Archer, or Bassitt?

7:56
Jeff Zimmerman: Keep Ponce for another start. With the Happy Fun Ball, any pitcher can get rocked

7:56
Hobbs: Who gets added to Toronto’s rotation now that Stroman is gone?

7:57
Jeff Zimmerman: Doesn’t matter:

7:57
Jeff Zimmerman:

The starting pitcher on the Blue Jays with the lowest projected rest of season FIP according to THE BAT is now Jacob Waguespack (4.77)

Steamer sees it differently – Trent Thornton is the new ace (4.90 FIP).

29 Jul 2019
7:57
Mark: Desperate to salvage brutal ERA & WHIP in very deep 15 team league. Options to pick up: Woj, Matz, Vargas, Quantrill. Any one better than the rest…?

7:58
Jeff Zimmerman: Woj but watch his home starts. I’d just stream them

7:58
And the kids have a great day : Any O’s relievers to speculate upon?

7:58
Jeff Zimmerman: No. It’s a dumpster fire.

7:58
Geoff Zimmerman : Will Hunter Strickland get saves?

7:58
Jeff Zimmerman: I hope so. I picked him up everywhere. Elias has been horrible.

7:59
Kat: Darwinzon Hernandez? 16 team. Not many pitchers left on waivers. Out of contention. Pick him up as possible closer for next year? Would have to stay on mlb roster. Can’t stash him in minors.

7:59
Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t spec on closers. Find someone else.

7:59
Matt: Is Sogard droppable now?

7:59
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes

8:00
Chasing Saves: As a Liam Hendriks owner, should I consider a Diego Castillo drop in order to snag Blake Treinen?

8:00
Chasing Saves: Trying to gauge who to prioritize. Please rank the following: LeClerc, DCastillo, JJimenez, Chris Martin, Treinen, SDyson

8:00
Saves Spec: Best best for saves: Joe Jimenez, Sam Dyson, Chris Martin, Freddy Peralta or Blake Treinen?

8:00
Mikey N: Prospecting for closers in AL only. If KC dumps Kennedy is Kevin McCarthy next up? Biagini just became avail too, I can only choose 1.

8:00
Cito’s Mustache: Who would be your #1 RP to target for saves who isn’t currently a closer but will be after Wednesday?

8:01
When We Was FAAB: Sneaky future closers in AL only keeper leagues?

8:01
Quadrangular: Holland is apparently out as closer, do you like either Hirano or Lopez stepping in?

8:01
Jeff Zimmerman: Here is a link to my closer rankings from yesterday

8:02
Jeff Zimmerman: While the Romo news has moved him, my rankings are the same.

8:02
Critical Spirit : Continue to ignore Nicky Lopez?

8:02
Jeff Zimmerman: Who?

8:02
Critical Spirit : Sell high on Hunter Dozier?

8:02
Jeff Zimmerman: If you can, it might be too late.

8:02
Oliver: Obviously no one knows for sure, but any chance we see Lux or Robert anytime this year?

8:03
Jeff Zimmerman: I’ll say Lux but it will mean several players got hurt on the MLB team. If they need him for the playoffs, he’ll be on the roster.

8:03
Smokey: Any chance Shaw or Aguilar get traded and gain some value

8:04
Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know what to do with this pair

8:04
Jeff Zimmerman: I’m just waiting because I think the Brewers will do nothing and both lose value.

8:05
Mystery Tweets: So who were the 3 SP targets you mentioned today? Woj, Urquidy and E.Hernandez?

8:05
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes

8:05
Hakaida: What’s a good amount of keepers for a keeper league? We have it set at 8 for a 20 man roster. Do other leagues do more?

8:06
Jeff Zimmerman: That’s fine. I like it a little deeper but sometimes the 6:1 trade happens and owners just have to know it’s coming

8:06
Bryan: In a 30-max transaction league and have only 2 moves left. Have Carp and Yandy on the DL. Go get JD Davis?

8:07
Jeff Zimmerman: No if you can create a lineup. You might need those moves later to fill a depleted roster spot

8:07
Halp: Please rank these  FA if I have to keep ROS?  Mazara, Upton, Choo, Bichette and Verdugo

8:08
Jeff Zimmerman: These are free agents? In your 4-team league so with Choo, Upton, Mazara, Bichette, Verdugo

8:08
Rob Manfreds Juice Box: I need outfield depth for a playoff push. Could you rank Canha, Santander, Dickerson and Teoscar? Any dramatic separation among them? Daily points head to head. Dynasty but also pushing for this year. I appreciate these chats and your opinions.

8:10
Jeff Zimmerman: Canha (if he keeps the playing time), Santander …… Dickerson ………… Teoscar. The first two are likely rosterable in 12-teamers. Definitely anything bigger.

8:10
Joe: I have T O Neil should I drop him for semien m Olson Santander van meter points league

8:11
Jeff Zimmerman: You must be in that same 6-team league. Yes on Olson and Santander. VanMeter is closer depending on your points format

8:11
Red Bull 44: Will Luis Urias break out of it enough to help fantasy teams this year? Hitting 7 or 8 can’t help the cause.

8:12
Jeff Zimmerman: It really depends on how deep your league is. He’s needed in all 15 team or deeper leagues.

8:12
Logan: Drop Heaney for E. Hernandez or Salazar?

8:12
Jeff Zimmerman: For Hernandez. Just stay away from Salazar

8:13
Jeff Zimmerman: BRB

8:14
Jeff Zimmerman: Shut, sorry. I forgot I owned Stroman in my home AL-only and change him over in my FAAB process

8:15
Bartolo: So if I’m following your closer rankings correctly, would I drop Eovaldi for Joe Jimenez?

8:15
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, it’s close though

8:15
Jeff Zimmerman: both are surrounded by questions.

8:15
AndyG: Do you expect Gennett to start to produce?     Didi is available on wire, would you drop Gennett for Didi?

8:15
Jeff Zimmerman: Get Didi

8:16
Jeff Zimmerman: He seems to be past the TJS lull

8:16
Chad: Debating between Urquidy and Alex Wood but very limited ww moves.  Urquidy looking like the shiny new toy but will he stay in the rotation?  Who r u taking?

8:16
Jeff Zimmerman: Urquidy but both should be added

8:16
Jeff Zimmerman: by some team.

8:17
Belfry Bat: How would you rank these four, ROS, in a deep, points-based league:  Yonder Alonso, Jose Martinez, Jake Lamb, Adam Duvall?  Thanks.

8:17
Jeff Zimmerman: I’d put JMart over Alonso

8:17
JT: Time to drop Votto in 12-team points league? My hope of a turn around has pretty much died.

8:18
Jeff Zimmerman: Sit him if you can but if the bench is limited, Drop him

8:18
Justin: How much of $1000 to bid on W Calhoun

8:18
Jeff Zimmerman: $30 at this point. I’m not sold he’s going to play much.

8:19
Enrique: Need HR’s and RP’s in a rotisserie dynasty league, making a final push, in first but really tight.  Need DH/OF.  Any thoughts on waiver wire pickups with upside? Wire is thin, roll with Rosario, whose been butt lately, and Choo, Cooper for final spots?

8:20
Jeff Zimmerman: Get Cooper for homers. O’Hearn might be worth an HR add. Also JD Davis

8:20
Barves: What are your expectations for Bichette?

8:20
Jeff Zimmerman: Bennitendi (sp?) like

8:20
Jeff Zimmerman: Rounded profile

8:21
Matt: Drop Nate Lowe, Verdugo, Schoop,  or Carpenter for for JD Davis?  12 team H2H.  I’ve rostered him twice already this season, but he hasn’t stuck.  Now you got me all fired up again!

8:21
Jeff Zimmerman: Verdugo would be my choice

8:21
Matt: I’ve said it before, but i love Sunday nights.  Thanks for taking the time, Jeff!

8:22
Jeff Zimmerman: Thanks for showing up

8:22
Mike: Santander, Calhoun, JD Davis, VanMeter, or use spot for streaming. Already have Hicks/Dahl for final lineup spot.

8:22
Jeff Zimmerman: With this talent level on the wire, stream. As teams drop out, more and more players will be on the wire.

8:23
JT: Need SS help. Please rank for points league ROS: Bichette, Kiki, JP Crawford, or Lux.

8:23
Jeff Zimmerman: Bichette, Crawford (set playing time) Kiki (better than Crawford but limited playing time).

8:23
Ronnie: Any value in Enciarte the rest of the way

8:24
Jeff Zimmerman: Yes if you need steals

8:24
Matt: Need to activate wheeler from IL, which of these starters is most droppable in 12-team H2H:  Beede, Samradzija or Cease?  (Canning, plesac, woj and urquidy also fill out the bottom of my sketchy rotation, fwiw). TY

8:25
Jeff Zimmerman: Assuming it’s redraft, Plesac or Cease

8:25
Corey: Who do you like H2H roto this week, Dom. Santana or Benintendi?

8:26
Jeff Zimmerman: Benitendi. Lots of games.

8:26
Mouse Rat : Mercado or Laureano?  OBP league

8:26
Jeff Zimmerman: Both. That 6-team league keeps showing up. Laureano

8:27
Jake: I added Will Smith last week and had Yadier Molina on my bench. Did I make a mistake dropping Molina for VanMeter’s upside?

8:27
Jeff Zimmerman: No, probably not

8:27
Ryan: Do you see the Padres and Marlins limiting Paddack and Smith’s innings soon?

8:27
Jeff Zimmerman: Ask Paul Sporer. I know he keeps track of these.

8:28
Jeff Zimmerman: That’s it for the evening. I hope to hear from everyone next week. -Jeff
