Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, the platoons are making it only 3-4 Rays hitters worth rostering

Cito’s Mustache: You mentioned Margot as a target for SB. In roto with both AVG and OBP is he an add for you over David Fletcher? I could use the SB but hitting leadoff in front of Trout is pretty tempting.

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends if you need every single steal. Edman (StL) and Inciarte are also options.

The Clerc: Jose Leclerc got a save chance and melted down. Cut for a steamer in my al only?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold one week to make sure he’s lost the job. It’s tough to find closer in only’s

Tyler Durden: Is D. Castillo best bet for saves in TB? Yoan Lopez in Ari?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think you are right but don’t spend too much on Castillo. I believe Tampa will trade for a closer.

Sweetie Pie: Cinci’s Van Meter? What can you tell me about playing time possibility and prospect?

Jeff Zimmerman: He was a dual-threat in the minors and has been playing every day. If any  of the trade rumors coming out of CIN happen, he could become a regular.

Bower: Hi Jeff! A strange melt down for bauer today. Like the energy, hate the inconsistency.  Is he still a top 15 or so guy?

Jeff Zimmerman: 15 for sure, he was higher than this past year.

Vader: What one hitter statistic do you rely on, xOBA?

Jeff Zimmerman: I come to OPS because it’s on every site. I know that an OPS under .650 means the player may be headed to the bench. Over .700 they are safe. And it correlates almost perfectly with wOBA

Jeff Zimmerman: Now, I do like xwOBA as a luck stat instead of HR/FB, BABIP, etc.

Curtis: Bo Bichette is available in one of my NFBC OCs (12 tm league).  I just picked up Luis Urias as my extra MI last weekend (Daniel Murphy, Polanco, and Segura, plus McNeil).  Only hitting change I was making this week as dropping Jackie Bradley (bench bat) for Margot, but could slot Bichette above Margot.  Other bench bats are Cron (on IL) and Vazquez (Contreras and d’Arnaud).  Thoughts?  Have $150 left.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d slot above but you seem safe and I’d limit the did to $15. If you get him for that great. If not, you didn’t gut your team.

SP Streamer: Who do you like for week 18 SP streamer in CBS H2H Points League and in what order: Velasquez, Barria, Vargas, E. Hernandez, Payano? Any other options I am overlooking?

Jeff Zimmerman: Barria and Velasquez are 1 and 2. Velasquez has the Giants this week and two starts against the Giants again and home against CO

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d also be interested in Hernandez as a permanent add

Vader: Other than N Anderson, what new closer to be would you be bidding on before the deadline?

Jeff Zimmerman: Bummer

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d say Hudson, but I have a feeling he may get traded

Oliver: 12 team deepish bench keep 10 forever h2h roto. Drop Eovalidi (sitting on DL) and any of the following to add Bichette: f. Reyes, Dom Santana, Luchessi

Jeff Zimmerman: All of them but Eovaldi first. He’s had like few good months of production …ever.

Vader: Is W Smith a top 5 catcher next season?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure. I expect him to really struggle as he gets used to the staff and his hitting suffers

Big Tuna: Would you drop Pence for Calhoun on VanMeter in a 12 tm OPS league?

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on the Calhoun.

Vader: Gausman got roughed up today in Philly, is he still worth a bid in H2H ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m the lowest person you’ll ever find on Gausman. IMO, he’s useless.

CS: very deep NL only league, in what order do you like VanMeter, Duvall, Happ, A Dickerson?

Jeff Zimmerman: Dickerson, VanMeter, Happ, Duvall

Jim Nantz: JD Davis – do you think he’s looking at near full-time PT with Smith going on the DL (and maybe a Frazier trade)? If so, has to be 12 team viable, right?

Jeff Zimmerman: From what I’ve read, he’s supposed to be full time. I’m trying to pick him up where available.

NCKLM: Is Freddy Peralta really slotting in as high-leverage?  They’re still going to use Hader for 2IP save chances, right?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think they add a reliever or two but they will mix-and-match with Peralta maybe vulturing a few Saves.

Hobbs: In a 12 team points league, keep Poncedeleon, or try for Asher, Beede, Archer, or Bassitt?

Jeff Zimmerman: Keep Ponce for another start. With the Happy Fun Ball, any pitcher can get rocked

Jeff Zimmerman: That’s fine. I like it a little deeper but sometimes the 6:1 trade happens and owners just have to know it’s coming

Bryan: In a 30-max transaction league and have only 2 moves left. Have Carp and Yandy on the DL. Go get JD Davis?

Jeff Zimmerman: No if you can create a lineup. You might need those moves later to fill a depleted roster spot

Rob Manfreds Juice Box: I need outfield depth for a playoff push. Could you rank Canha, Santander, Dickerson and Teoscar? Any dramatic separation among them? Daily points head to head. Dynasty but also pushing for this year. I appreciate these chats and your opinions.

Jeff Zimmerman: Canha (if he keeps the playing time), Santander …… Dickerson ………… Teoscar. The first two are likely rosterable in 12-teamers. Definitely anything bigger.

Joe: I have T O Neil should I drop him for semien m Olson Santander van meter points league

Jeff Zimmerman: You must be in that same 6-team league. Yes on Olson and Santander. VanMeter is closer depending on your points format

Red Bull 44: Will Luis Urias break out of it enough to help fantasy teams this year? Hitting 7 or 8 can’t help the cause.

Jeff Zimmerman: It really depends on how deep your league is. He’s needed in all 15 team or deeper leagues.
