Intro
The chart includes their performance for 2026, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness, and recently added opponent’s K% (also v. SP handedness), my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues – essentially a shallow, medium, deep league setup – and then a note about some, most, or all depending on the day. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s a much riskier stream for those spots.
These are general recommendations for standard 5×5 roto leagues, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. I usually won’t have much to write about aces who are locked into our rotations. If you want to discuss someone further, please feel free to leave a comment. I usually do a few sweeps of the comments before game time in case there are time-sensitive questions.
Color Coding:
- Green – Good Matchup (lower OPS output by SP opponent) – 21st to 30th
- Yellow – OK – 11th to 20th
- Red – Bad – 1st to 10th
Until this photo I never realized how much Tolle might resemble Eck
No wind or rain issues today
Any idea on Dyersville for Field Of Dreams game? I assume most sites see at MIN and load up Target Field data
Good call – missed that and Rotogrinders does pull Target Field weather.
The other site I go to has wind at 10 across from R to L but the bigger issue is rain. 39% chance and there is a pretty good storm that should be south of the field, but wouldn’t take much for it to end up over the ballpark. Chance of lightning too.
BTW, the forecast for CHW now has rain popping up mid-game at 32% and 51% by the end
Can only start one: Detmers against KC, Gausman and Bradish (TBR), Boyd (STL), Shota (STL). Leaning Detmers, but kind of like that Boyd matchup….
Detmers for me. Agreed on the Cubs v. STL being nice, too. Sucks that you can only do one, but it’s Det for me. KCR also Ks a lot more vL than STL.
deGrom’s last three starts @LAA: 3 ER, 5 ER, 6 ER
Ashcraft’s last 5 starts before today: 4 R, 1 R, 4 R, 8 R, 5 R
Fun deGrom factoid: even with all his injury issues, deGrom has pitched in every season since 2014. Never would have guessed that.
wow me neither! would’ve figured a 0 in there somewhere for sure
2 ER in 2 IP today. Another stinker.
how exactly did a start from May of this year and 2 others from last year foretell triceps tightness tonight, though? if you didn’t start him tonight and dodged the 2 IP busted outing, good on ya, but it’s very much bad process/good result. i just don’t know that 3 disparate starts against a terrible offense in a neutral-at-worst park gave any insight to skip this start
Odd to see Nola at the bottom.
