Various News and Notes

Wei-Yin Chen suffered a setback in his rehab after experiencing a recurrence of soreness in his pitching elbow. Chen will undergo an MRI on the partially torn UCL he has been pitching on. This is probably not going to end well with Chen and he is droppable if you had been stashing him.

Drew Pomeranz left Sunday’s game with triceps tightness. After the game, Pomeranz did not seem worried about it, saying he expected to make his next start at Oakland. This is concerning for him considering he missed the start of the season with a tricep issue and he has had declining velocity during the beginning of the season.

AJ Pollock left Sunday’s game due to a groin injury. He is currently considered day-to-day. Pollock has had a fantastic start to the season hitting .299/.337/.455 with 2 home runs and 11 stolen bases, rewarding those who invested in on him in spite of coming off an injury plagued season. An injury like this could very serious for a player like Pollock who garners a ton of value from stolen bases. Keep an eye on his status.

David Peralta was also removed from Sunday’s game due to tightness in his glute. He is also considered day-to-day with this butt injury. Yes, it is a butt injury.

Devin Mesoraco was removed from Sunday’s game with hamstring tightness. This was more precautionary than anything else as Mesoraco stated he could have kept playing.

A pitcher for today: Joe Musgrove @ MIA

Was tempted to go with my boy Luis Perdomo here, but with him matched up against the potent Brewers, I’ll take the gamble on Musgrove in a large NL park.

A pitcher for tomorrow: JC Ramirez vs CHW

Ramirez coming off his worst start of the year, but gets to go against the putrid White Sox lineup at home. Should be a nice rebound start.

Do it, Murphy was a top-10 hitter last year and there’s no guarantee Salazar figures out his mechanics to stop getting tattooed. Nola injured and straily a streamer. You get the best player, just depends on how well your contingencies line up at other positions.
