Position Player Playing Time Changes: March 12, 2025

There aren’t many big changes since our first iteration of this series, but knowing that it’s draft time, I’ll be keeping you posted on hitters every other day until the season starts! Here’s the playing time swings of at least 70 plate appearances since Monday.
Position Player Projected PA Changes, 3/10 to 3/12
Name | Team | Positions | Old PA | New PA | PA Change | Reason |
---|---|---|---|---|---|---|
James Outman | LAD | RF, CF | 14 | 119 | 105 | Hyeseong Kim 김혜성 starting in AAA opens up OF time; Edman to 2B |
Jack Suwinski | PIT | CF, LF, RF | 140 | 231 | 91 | Hitting well this Spring, still going to be a fight for PA but he could spell Pham against RHP |
Gage Workman | CHC | 2B, 3B | 70 | 147 | 77 | Heading to Japan with the team after a great Spring Training, likelier to make domestic Opening Day roster |
Cam Smith | HOU | 3B, RF | 56 | 133 | 77 | Beginning to get reps in the OF, could hasten call-up… maybe even for Opening Day? |
Luis Guillorme | HOU | 3B, SS, 2B | 35 | 105 | 70 | Lefty bat and versatility make him a better bench option with Dubón likely to get the plurality of 2B time |
Brendan Rodgers | HOU | 2B | 357 | 196 | -161 | Dubón will get the first crack at 2B when Altuve’s in LF; Rodgers being 2B-only hurts. Could he opt out and find a role elsewhere? |
If you are going to update this every day or two (which is awesome by the way — and I love the format), it would be useful to just add on the new information/table at the top.
So you’d have something with “Updates as of 3/12/25” and the table.
Then, under that, you’d have something with “Updates as of 3/10/25” and that table.
At the top of the article, it can be a repeat of the explanation from the first article…and that can just be static since it gave the purpose and useful parameters.
Just a thought on how to make the information more impactful.
