Ottoneu Hot Right Now: June 16, 2026

Hot Right Now (HRN) is a weekly Ottoneu feature focused on popular players currently being auctioned or players who you should think about auctioning in your Ottoneu leagues. Even if you don’t play Ottoneu, we’ll be highlighting players you should be looking at in deeper and keeper formats. In this feature, we will break down players into two sections:

1. Current Auctions: A closer look at players being auctioned at a high rate.
2. Hot Performers: Players with a high P/G or P/IP over the last 14 days who are also rostered in 80% of leagues or less.

Current Auctions

Blaze Jordan — 108 current auctions — 16.0% roster%

Traded to the Cardinals in the Steven Matz trade last summer, Blaze Jordan posted a solid .313/.373/.548 slash line (a 137 wRC+) in Triple-A this year. He made his major league debut last Friday and collected five hits and a home run across his first three games in the big leagues.

His minor league performance this year was a pretty big step forward for him. He scuffled a bit after the trade last July, posting a 53 wRC+ in 41 games after joining the organization. The biggest area of growth has been improved contact quality thanks to an effort to elevate his batted balls more often. His hard hit rate has jumped more than seven points from last year to this year and his barrel rate is up by 3.4 points. He’s still pretty swing happy with a higher than average chase rate. He makes enough contact to make up for those swings on pitches out of the zone, but big league pitchers will definitely look to take advantage of his aggression.

If he can maintain his contact quality gains and avoid getting too exposed by chasing too often, he could be a solid addition if your fantasy team needs a corner infielder.

Elvis Alvarado — 93 current auctions — 16.0% roster%

When he converted his second save opportunity on Saturday, Elvis Alvarado became the sixth reliever for the Athletics to record multiple saves this year. Recalled to the majors on June 6, he’s thrown 5.1 scoreless innings across four relief appearances with 11 strikeouts since then. His last two outings came in the ninth inning. Hogan Harris seems to be the main competition in the ninth inning right now and it’s worth pointing out that Harris is left-handed while Alvarado is right-handed. That may lead the Athletics to play the matchups with these two high-leverage relievers rather than anointing one of them the full-time closer.

Cooper Pratt — 61 current auctions — 11.7% roster%

After signing him to an eight-year extension at the start of the season, the Brewers promoted Cooper Pratt ahead of their game on Tuesday. It was an interesting deal because Pratt wasn’t the kind of consensus top prospect that had landed a pre-debut extension like Jackson Chourio or Colt Emerson. Instead, he was ranked 10th in Milwaukee’s system with a 45 FV (a low-end regular/platoon player).

Pratt wasn’t exactly lighting up the minor league either. Across 58 games in Triple-A this year, he was slashing .241/.349/.386 (a 100 wRC+) with six home runs and 17 stolen bases. As you might suspect, his best offensive skill is a patient approach at the plate and good enough bat-to-ball skills to avoid striking out too much. His contact quality is rather lacking which means his ceiling is pretty low. He’s got a sterling defensive reputation and it seems like Milwaukee is content with a questionable bat to get his glove in the lineup at short. That doesn’t bode well for his fantasy prospects and I’d wait and see if he acclimates to the majors before thinking about picking him up.

Paul Goldschmidt — 8.4 FGPts/G (last 14 days) — 36.2% roster%

Over the last two weeks, Paul Goldschmidt has collected 17 hits and three home runs while slashing .378/.396/.622. In fact, since the beginning of May, the veteran first baseman is running a 160 wRC+ with eight home runs. Last year, he started off the season with a similar hot streak before crumbling down the stretch; he had a 148 wRC+ through May 2025, but fell to a decidedly not nice 69 from June through the end of the season. His batted ball quality has taken another step back this year which doesn’t bode well for his ability to maintain this kind of production through the rest of the summer. Ride the hot streak if you need a first baseman, but be ready to drop the veteran as soon as his results turn.

Javier Assad — 7.4 FGPts/G (last 14 days) — 2.3% roster%

Javier Assad held the Giants scoreless over 12.1 innings across two consecutive outings, allowing just four hits and two walks while striking out 10. Nearly 90% of the runs he’s allowed this season came in two separate ugly outings, a nine-run disaster on April 13 against the Phillies and a six-run clunker on April 25 against the Dodgers. He’s allowed just two total runs in his eight other outings. With the Cubs dealing with a ton of injuries on their pitching staff, Assad should have an opportunity to stick in the rotation for the foreseeable future. His strikeout rate isn’t all that impressive, but avoids allowing too much hard contact with a deep repertoire of average-ish pitches.
