It’s closing time!

We’re using Yahoo! eligibility requirements which is 5 starts or 10 appearances. These rankings assume the standard 5×5 categories and a re-draft league. If we forgot someone, please let us know in the comments and we’ll make sure he’s added for the updates. If you have questions for a specific ranker on something he did, let us know in the comments. The Bullpen Report team, plus Jeff and myself did these rankings. We can also be reached via Twitter:

There will be differences, sharp differences, within the rankings. The rankers have different philosophies when it comes to ranking, some of which you’re no doubt familiar with through previous iterations. Of course the idea that we’d all think the same would be silly because then what would be the point of including multiple rankers?! Think someone should be higher or lower? Make a case. Let us know why you think that. The chart is sortable. If a ranker didn’t rank someone that the others did, he was given that ranker’s last rank +1.

Key:

  • AVG– just the average of the seven ranking sets
  • Adj. AVG– the average minus the high and low rankings
  • SPLIT– the difference between the high and low rankings

Greg Holland isn’t ranked bc he’s not a team. He’s draftable in a lot of formats, but it’s a personal preference thing of when so we didn’t bother ranking him right now.

I’m surprised everyone is still so high on Rivero. Of the top 10 he is the least proven of the bunch and seems to be the most obvious regression candidate in that his walks, hr% and BABIP were all down last year. Obviously a really good young pitcher, but he seems to get questioned less I would expect.

if we extend this to 80, will Pedro Baez and/or Matt Strahm on it? wonder more de facto Setup man or swingman there are on top 80.

If Givens were to take the closer job in Baltimore before Britton comes back where would he rank? Where would you put him if he does that and Britton comes back and gets traded? Could he slip into the top 50? I know its a crazy hypothetical but he does look like he’s been good in spring so far.

For a keeper league I like Josh Hader because of his potential to contribute now and potentially grow into a SP role. Any other young RPs that could be worthwhile in most formats now but still plausibly end up a top half of the rotation starter in the next few years?

Glasnow could be useful as a multi-IP RP this year. If it ever clicks he would be scary good.

Feels like Brad Hand should be higher, just based off looking at the Depth Charts projections.
