12:01
Jasson Dominguez: Worth the add in 12 team roto?

12:01
Shake That Jasson: How much run do you think Jasson Dominguez will get this time around with the Yankees? Is he worth rostering in 10-12T leagues?

12:03
Justin Mason: I think he could get a fair amount of run here against right handed pitching. Its still a crowded team so he won’t likely play full time, but I think he is worth speculating on in 12s for sure.

12:03
Bob: Luzardo was dropped in my points league, think he can get back on track?

12:04
Justin Mason: He is a must add IMO. Michael Baumann had a great piece on him which confirmed a lot of what I thought which is he has just been extremely unlucky. The skills are intact and actually better in many ways this season. He has a fantastic two-step this week. Grab him now

12:04
This Land is Nolan: Keep Arenado while he’s on his hot streak or drop for any of Durbin, Baty, Brooks Lee or Luis Garcia?

12:04
Justin Mason: I would drop for Baty or Durbin personally

12:04
Mamma Mia: Jac Caglianone dropped in my 12T 5OF roto lg … would you cut Paredes, LuBob or Stott for him?

12:04
Justin Mason: I could cut Paredes for him

12:04
Bob: Eury Perez has been up and down so far, in a 12 man points league would you keeo him based on the upside?

12:05
Justin Mason: I think you need to keep Eury. There may continue to be some growing pains, but he lost a year of development. The upside is SP1 so I want that on my teams

12:05
Not my real name: 10 team QS league, I have Yesavage coming back (not starting him in his first start though), my current staff is Cris Sanchez, Mclean, Hancock, Schultz, Luzardo and Eury.  Also have Snell on the IL as well.  Where do I even start on juggling this staff?

12:06
Justin Mason: personally if I have to make a cut with that rotation, it’s Yesavage. His control will likely be an issue and I wouldnt expect him to be going deep enough to get QS most of the season. I think he will be pretty limited out of the gate as well.

12:07
OF Shuffle: Looking for a fifth OF in an OBP roto league while Cam Smith struggles (gonna bench and hold): grab Adolis, Jesus Sanchez, Brandon Marsh or Troy Johnston?

12:07
Justin Mason: I picked up Johnston in a few leagues last night. Love the dual eligibility and he’s running hot right now.

12:07
Adenolith: Shallow cats league. I just traded Vlad Jr and Erceg for Sal Stewart and Mason Miller. Fair deal? I’m not going to regret this, right?

12:08
Justin Mason: Considering the horror show at closer right now, I actually am totally fine with this deal. Love Stewart and what he has done so far this season. I like the move.

12:08
Why Not Zoidberg?: Are we seeing a mini breakout from CJ Abrams? KS are down, walks and air pull are up. Can I expect more than his usual .250/19/30?

12:10
Justin Mason: The walks feel more a productive of a smaller zone that pitchers are struggling with rather than anything Abrams is doing. He is swining outside the zone more, pitchers are just struggling to find the zone consistently. He is elevating more and the barrel and hard hit rates are up. I think he could hit a few more home runs like that, but the OBP will come back down as the league adjusts to the new zone.

12:10
Tim: How concerns are you with the uneven performance by Yesavage in rehab, and now word that Priester is even further off-track (velo down two ticks, poor command in both starts)

12:11
Justin Mason: I think that is who he is going to be to be honest. Until he learns to attack the zone more and stop being so wild, he is going to have struggle starts. The upside is immense and we saw it in the playoffs, but with the smaller zone this season, we need guys to be willing to attack the zone more consistently.

12:12
Guest: Last SP spot this week. 12 team 5×5 roto IP instead of wins. Burrows @ Boston or Cantillo @ Athletics?

12:12
Justin Mason: Cantillo, but both are scary

12:12
RAGBRAI: Who would you want short term and ROS between J Ortiz and Mauricio in NL 5×5?

12:12
Justin Mason: Mauricio

12:12
Rob A: Want to improve SP in 15 team mixed pts dynasty. Looking to dangle Bryce Eldridge – who would you target in return?

12:13
Justin Mason: Eldridge is still a top 10 prospect imo, so I would want a pretty well established player like at least a top 50 MLB. Considering how close Eldridge is to the Majors, trading him now should net you a good return.

12:14
Megilla Gorilla: Very saves needy in my 12T roto league; all I’ve got is Jacob Latz. Should I grab Trevor Megill and/or Jeff Hoffman in the hopes they can win their jobs back?

12:14
Justin Mason: I think if I did this, it would be for hoffman. I don’t see Megill getting it back any time soon. Hoffman at least has Varland in front of him who has shown he can struggle with homers and I think the skills are a bit better there too.

12:15
Bill: Drop Burger?  Pick up Cortes Marsh or Canzone?  Redraft

12:15
Justin Mason: Canzone for me long term. Marsh short term

12:16
IF help needed: 12 team roto, trying to decide between backup IF: Stott, Meidroth, Baty, Mauricio or Antonacci?

12:16
Justin Mason: Baty

12:16
Cruz Missile: What’s a reasonable return if I’m trying to sell Oneil Cruz in an OBP league? Not specifically looking for any position or stat, just curious what a good ask looks like

12:16
Justin Mason: I think you ask for a top 25 asset and hope to land a top 50 one.

12:17
EG: Will smith sat the last 2 with a sore back. Starting him or Rushing this week (all 6 games vs RHP)

12:17
Justin Mason: Rushing

12:17
Congressional Closer Committee: Is Varland the guy now in DC with Beeter hurt or do you think the Nats go with a committee? Is Varland worth rostering even if they do spread the save opps around?

12:17
Justin Mason: I think Varland leads the committee I grabbed him in a couple of spots last night.

12:17
Catching some Zzzs: Hey Justin – shallow points league, is Yainer a drop for Basallo? Does he play enough (though, I’m starting to think Yainer doesn’t play enough either)

12:17
Justin Mason: I am ok making this move. I think Basallo will get enough PT

12:17
Andy: Carlos cortes is like top 3 in xwoba. Do you think this isa late bloomer or flash in the pan

12:18
Justin Mason: flash in the pan and likely to lose time with Rooker back.

12:18
Its Miller time: What are your expectations for Bryce Miller this season?

12:18
Justin Mason: Hard to know after the disaster season last year, but reports are that he is hitting 97 in his rehab starts so I am definitely stashing in a couple of leagues.

12:18
Pete: drop Trevor Rogers for McClanahan?

12:19
Justin Mason: I am not ready to do that but I don’t blame you if you are after each of their last couple of starts.

12:19
Kyle: Safe to say that Chase Dollander has been a pleasant surprise. He is quite young and the talent is certainly there. He seems to have gotten walks under control, but is still giving up some loud contact. What is your outlook for him on the rest of the season (acknowledging he won’t stay as hot as he is now)?

12:20
Justin Mason: I love the talent, but hate pitching in Coors. I think there is an opportunity for him to be viable long term for fantasy but he will struggle at home as the weather heats up in Colorado. If youre not someone who likes to curate starts, then you shouldnt mess with him, but if you are good at optimizing, then he has a ton of upside.

12:20
Salty: If the Yankees DFA’d McMahon, do you think anyone picks him up?  I wonder if they would rather keep Dominguez up and play Volpe at SS with a Caballero/Rosario platoon at 3B.  I still there’s some hope as a power source for R Mac if he sticks around in the Bronx, but it’s been a rough month.

12:22
Justin Mason: I would be surprised if someone didn’t take a shot on him, though they may not want to pick up that contract. Will he accept going to the minors though? I don’t know that I would.

12:22
Rob A: Marcell Ozuna: M, F, K? Or I guess: Start, Bench, Cut?

12:22
Justin Mason: F

12:22
Justin Mason: point awarded

12:22
DJ: Time to board the Peter Lambert hype train in deeper leagues?

12:23
Justin Mason: I think for now. The Stuff+ numbers do not really back up what he is doing, but he is mixing really well and the breaking stuff is good. I doubt he keeps it up all season, but he should be rostered in all formats at this point.

12:23
CaptainAwesome: What do you think of Jack Perkins in the Oakland bullpen?  Could he be the guy?

12:24
Justin Mason: I think this is going to be a super frustrating committee all season long.

12:24
Senga: Who will replace me in Mets rotation?

12:24
Justin Mason: Christian Scott

12:24
TJ: Thinking of picking up P. Tolle, in a 14 tm 6×6 h2h  7 start weekly max where pitching categories are: ERA, WHIP, QS, K, W & SV/HLD is Tolle an upgrade over any of the following last men on my staff: E. Perez, M. Gore, M. King, M. Meyer & N. Schultz, taking account that he may be sent back down when Gray returns ?

12:25
Justin Mason: over Meyer for sure. I think the Red Sox will have to keep him in the rotation once Gray is back. Bello needs to go to the minors or the pen

12:25
So many OF’ers: Potentially trading OF to power needy team for pitching.
Is Rooker for Framber or Miz too low? Could also try Wilyer or Stowers for Cantillo?

12:25
Justin Mason: I feel like you should get a little more back on Rooker. Stowers for Cantillo seems fair to me. Don’t trade Abreu

12:26
Lord Thunder: How much longer does Fernando Tatis Jr. have before his campaign risks falling into “lost season” territory?

12:26
Justin Mason: It’s only been a month. He will be ok

12:26
Manning to Manningham: Way to fight for 21 buddy !!!!!

12:26
Justin Mason: Thank you!

12:26
Trade Town: If you had Stowers, Moniak, and Wilyer and needed to trade one, what is a realistic ask pitching wise?

12:27
Justin Mason: Im not moving Wilyer right now. I just think he is about to breakout in a massive way. If I could get a top 40-50 pitcher for Moniak or Stowers I would.

12:27
RAGBRAI: When Strider returns I need to cut Adam or Vesia in a SOLDS league. Who goes?

12:27
Justin Mason: Adam

12:27
TJ: trying to acquire B. Rooker at a buy low, is the following offer enough or too low: M. Busch and 1 of the following SP; M. King/M. Gore/M. Meyer ?

12:28
Justin Mason: probably too low, but I would try and do King and Busch or Meyer and Busch

12:28
Martin: Teoscar and Otto Lopez for Maikel and Willson Contreras. Which side do you prefer? OPS league.

12:28
Justin Mason: Maikel

12:28
Guest: Griffin Jax now an opener?Time to move on in a 14T Sv+H?

12:28
Justin Mason: yeah, you can move on

12:29
Salty: If the Red Sox are paying him the rest of the year, would Alex Cora manage my underwhelming fantasy team for the rest of the year?  Not sure if it will sway him one way or another, but like the Sox, I’m still rostering Durbin, too…

12:29
Justin Mason: Point awarded

12:29
Rickey: Would you start Ryne Nelson at the Cubs,  Cantillo at the A’s, or Dollander at home vs Atlanta this week? I think itd probably be Nelson, but he’s had two awful starts in a row. Thoughts?

12:30
Justin Mason: I would lean Cantillo here, but Throw out Nelson’s last start because it was in Mexico City which is a launching pad.

12:30
JR Ritchie: will I stay in ATL rotation?

12:30
Justin Mason: I think you will. Seems like the Braves really like him

12:30
Sam: please rank ROS: Ramos, Canzone, Marsh

12:30
Justin Mason: Ramos, Marsh, Canzone

12:30
Jose Fernandez: Anything here? (12 team Roto)

12:30
Justin Mason: not really

12:30
Look At This Sotograph: Is there a point to Baz in 12T? Not sure he’s got any real upside, his yearly stats don’t show much.

12:31
Justin Mason: I think you can move on if there’s an intriguing arm on the wire. He is clearly working on stuff and while I do think he will turn it around, in a 12, you dont have to wait.

12:31
Shorting Stop: Bo played SS game 1 yesterday.  Think that may continue (if even just against lefties)?

12:31
Justin Mason: They need someone while Lindor is out so I think he can.

12:31
Wood: 12T OBP cats. Need to activate Rooker. The bottom of my lineup is Chase DeLauter, Jordan Walker, Isaac Paredes and Willy Adames. Who gets the boot?

12:31
Justin Mason: Paredes

12:32
Aaron: Are you interested/ holding on Ritchie and/ or Prielipp in a 12-teamer? if so, who do you prefer? would you take them over Jack Leiter?

12:32
Justin Mason: I picked up Prielipp in a few leagues yesterday. I probably still have him under Leiter, but I am a Leiter guy

12:32
SamskiNYC: Justin, I refuse to give up on Bradish. Do I have a problem?

12:32
Justin Mason: I think it’s too early to give up on him, but I do think we have to adjust what we thought of him coming into the season. There was way too much hype on a guy that missed a ton of time.

12:33
K – King: Muncy seems to strike out every other AB…stay patient or replace with B. Lee (MIN), Vientos, Mauricio?

12:34
Justin Mason: If we are talking about Athletics Muncy, I dropped him yesterday in a 15 and would be happy to pick up Lee.

12:34
Tim: Does Mayo have a chance of finally succeeding? AL-only. Tnx.

12:34
Justin Mason: He needs to figure out how to hit breaking stuff still. The hot streak this week is great, but the underlying skills still arent strong even during the stretch.

12:34
Party Rocker in the House Tonight: How long should I hold my $1 Kumar Rocker in AL Only when these new toys like Schultz and Tolle keep popping up? (Faab adds can’t be kept, but who cares about the future anyway?)

12:34
Justin Mason: Grab the new toys!

12:34
Devin Williams: will he keep his job?  worth speculating on Weaver?

12:35
Justin Mason: I think he holds it, but I wouldnt mind taking a spec on Weaver.

12:35
Biting my Naylors: Naylor has a quad issue.  Is tork a good replacement?

12:35
Justin Mason: yes he is

12:35
TJ: Rank the following OF options (A. Burleson, C. DeLauter, C. Smith, D. Varsho & T. Friendly) in a 14 tm h2h 6×6 where offensive categories are: OBP, TB, HR, RBI, R & SB

12:35
Justin Mason: DeLauter, Varsho, Smith

12:35
Jim: pls rank :  Tovar, Brooks Lee, Winn, Kim (LAD)…need Lindor replacement

12:36
Justin Mason: Lee

12:36
Guest: 16-team 5×5 roto with OPB instead of average.  Traded my Murakami and Otto Lopez for Schlitter and Bregman.  Needed a top starter after losing Horton. How’d I do?

12:36
Justin Mason: AMAZING

12:36
Jimmy: Strategy question, In a 12tm H2H OBP league, how many hitters from one lineup do you consider excessive? I’m currently rostering 4 players from one team.  Also, which hitter would you rather have ROS, Alec Burleson or Jung Ho Lee?

12:37
Justin Mason: I think four is about the max I would do because if you get a 5 game week because of rainouts, you are setting yourself up for an L. Burleson for me

12:37
RWFTF: I’m in a points league (just 6 teams, but the scoring has been set up in a way that everyone has ~12 starters) and have decided to finally put down Kyle Bradish – who should I replace him with? Randy Vasquez, Shane McClanahan, JR Ritchie, or Spencer Arrighetti?

12:37
Justin Mason: Im not dropping Bradish for any of these guys personally.

12:37
TJ: was offered L. Keaschall for M. King, have been running out G. Torres at 2B, is this trade worthwhile, I think not but have depth at SP, should I wait it out and try to get a B. Nimmo/ I. Happy offer?

12:38
Justin Mason: I feel like you should be able to get more for King.

12:38
Justin Mason: Im also not a Keaschall guy

12:38
Rizzuto: What you make of I Vargas? Isn’t he like 35 years old?

12:39
Justin Mason: This is just a hot streak. No way does it keep up.

12:39
Look At This Sotograph: Vinnie P’s bat speed is down a few ticks. That seems bad. Does this make it likely he’s not as good as last year?

12:40
Justin Mason: I think he will be fine. Wrote him up as a buy low last week at Fantasy Pros.

12:40
Aaron: cam smith is a stat cast darling but the results havent been there. would you move on to Angel martinez in a 12 tm h2h league?

12:41
Justin Mason: I am ok doing that, but I do believe in Smith long term

12:41
Zach: Looking to move on from Senga. Would you pick up McGreevy, Foster Griffin, Nick Pivetta, or some pitching prospect?

12:41
Justin Mason: Griffin

12:41
Dr. Funk: Would you sit Leiter 2 step this week in TGFBI league? Options are Weathers, Kevin Kelly and Sandy.

12:41
Justin Mason: I would sit him for Weathers.

12:42
Tim: Follow up on Priester, he’s missing the zone more than hitting it so far in rehab and the velo is down a couple feet. Still worth a stash or let someone else sweat it out?

12:42
Justin Mason: I dont think he is worth stashing

12:42
Senga me a song: Is Senga a drop for a Bryce Stash? QA points league

12:42
Justin Mason: I think so

12:42
Aaron: are you rolling leiter tonight vs NYY? or is that too scary (12 team)?

12:42
Justin Mason: Considering his ankle issue last start, I think I would sit this out

12:43
Rick: Are you worried about Jo Adell at all? Seems to have gotten K rate under control but at the cost of almost all power

12:43
Justin Mason: Not worried at all.

12:43
Tolled up: Spent big to get Tolle last night. Promise me he won’t be sent down?

12:43
Justin Mason: I promise you

12:43
Justin Mason: I better not be wrong lol

12:44
Catcher PT: Who plays more Rushing or Basallo? Either worth a pickup over guys like O’Hoppe or Yainer, Wells, G. Sanchez?

12:44
Justin Mason: Basallo. Pick him up.

12:44
Lord Thunder: Any difference about Davis Martin, or is this just a nice, little warm stretch?

12:44
Justin Mason: been super lucky so far. Nothing to get excited over

12:44
Joe Dirt: Reynaldo Lopez was dropped, I want to add him, drop Doyle, Pereira or De Los Santos?

12:44
Justin Mason: why? He’s going to the pen

12:44
Tony Vitello: When the world never seems

12:44
Tony Vitello: to be living up to your dreams

12:44
Justin Mason: Point awarded

12:45
Mighty Casey: Am I breaking out or is it just Bull Schmitt?

12:46
Justin Mason: I struggle with this. The underlying numbers are good and he is better defensively than a number of the Giants that play regularly, but maybe its having watched him so much over the last two years that I am not 100% buying it. I probably should at least for now.

12:46
Stef: Death knell for Luis Castillo a bit premature? Under the hood looks pretty good. Would you run him out for 2 starts this week (@MIN, KC)?

12:47
Justin Mason: I am for sure running him out this week. It’s a dream two-step and he has been better than he surface numbers say.

12:47
Guest: A smaller zone? Is this why Gilbert has been struggling so far? Could say the same about Bradish but he’s been real hittable in addition to control issues.

12:47
Justin Mason: league average zone rate is like 3% lower. Everyone is struggling with it right now. Never been more important to have great control. Glibert has that control when he is right, I worry he isnt though

12:48
Flaherty?: Is Jack Flaherty worth a claim (18 team league)?

12:48
Justin Mason: probably in that deep of a league

12:48
Mets rotation: take it you view C Scott ahead of Tong as likely replacement for Senga?  Scott’s last start was ugly.  You think Mets will give him another shot?

12:48
Justin Mason: Tong hasnt been great in AAA so far either. They are running low on options.

12:48
Rick: Any risk of Grisham losing PT if he stays cold at the plate?

12:49
Justin Mason: I think so. He will get some rope because of the defense, but he has to pick it up. I think he will improve though

12:49
Devers: buy low or is he toast?

12:49
Justin Mason: I am not buying

12:49
Michael King: sell high?

12:49
Justin Mason: yes

12:49
Guest: Cats league. Can pick one of McClanahan, Early, or Prielipp. Who do you like out of that group?

12:49
Justin Mason: Early

12:50
Guest: Who you got Busch or Torkelson?

12:50
Justin Mason: Tork

12:50
Will: James Wood gonna stay productive?  last year’s 2H was bad

12:50
Justin Mason: he will have ups and downs, but the end of the year line will be enough

12:50
McClanahan: over/under: 130 IP? 100 IP?

12:50
Justin Mason: Under 130. Over 100

12:50
Aaron: i have a surplus of pitching. thoughts on offering gausman for tatis?

12:50
Justin Mason: I would love to get that deal, but idk that the Tatis owner accepts it

12:51
Hazmat: How long of a leash does Evan Carter get? He’s shown a few signs of life but is still helpless against lefties

12:51
Justin Mason: He will play versus righties, but he is a platoon bat with a bad health track record.

12:51
Mike: Lost out on Dollander in FAAB but ‘won’ Senzatela ($0 bid). Think he has a shot at Col closer role?

12:52
Justin Mason: There is a chance if Vodnik struggles

12:52
3700 Milwaukee’s Bests: How should we view E Perez ROS?

12:52
Justin Mason: top 35-40 starter with top 15 upside.

12:53
Tim: redraft – trade M King for K Griffin?

12:53
Justin Mason: I feel like I should get more in a redraft for king

12:53
JJ: Heard anything on Jared Jones? I missed some other injury stashes and am tentatively hopeful.

12:53
Justin Mason: I havent but I never care too much about TJ returnees in their first year back. Too unpredictable

12:53
Andrew Jackson still roots for the Indians: Hi Justin:  when Jackson Holliday returns to the O’s lineup, I’ll have to drop Colt Keith or Willi Castro. 16 teams, 12 keeper points league with a miniscule deduction for Ks by a batter.

12:54
Justin Mason: Castro, but with Holliday having a setback, it will probably be a while

12:54
Justin Mason: Also, point awarded for the name.

12:54
Guest: weakest link in QS league of Wheeler Harrison Roupp Early Gore

12:54
Justin Mason: oh wow. I guess Gore

12:54
chico: % probability that Griffin Jax can regain closing duties this season?

12:55
Justin Mason: 10%

12:55
varland: would you cut R Walker for Varland?

12:55
Justin Mason: which Varland?

12:55
Justin Mason: Louie yes. Gus no.

12:55
Hiro: Is there any hope for Sasaki or is he droppable in a deep 15 teamer? He’s been in my bench exclusively but he’s cheap and keepable if he figures it out this my reluctance to drop him

12:55
Justin Mason: he is droppable.

12:55
Mets: The subject should be worth a point on its own.   Which team is worse: the current version or the original “worst team money could buy” with Bonilla, Coleman, etc?

12:56
Justin Mason: The current. Point awarded

12:56
Guest: choose two of early, mlod, and arrighetti please!

12:56
Justin Mason: Early and Mlod

12:56
Forever Jung: Would you start Jung at 3B over Maikel Garcia in a H2H OBP league? I know Jung has the tougher schedule, but he’s been on fire while Garcia was out with injury the past few games (he did only pinch-hit yesterday).

12:56
Justin Mason: Starting Garcia if he is in the lineup

12:56
Jon: Hi Justin. Royals!

12:56
Justin Mason: Hi!

12:56
Brooks’ Lees: Is he real?  His underlying stats are averagish but surface is good. Would you pick him up over masyn winn, jp crawford, or ronny?

12:57
