Starting Pitcher 2026 Fantasy Rankings Update – April 27th, 2026
I’ll be in the comments answering questions and discussing changes!
Focus more on tier differences than rankings differences within a given tier. Sure, the top and bottom of a tier can be discussed, but 7-10 rankings within the same tier isn’t a huge split to me and comparing them would likely come down to short-term matchups.
Changes (won’t appear on the boards below):
- Peter Lambert – HOU – Team Streamer #91 – got knocked off during an edit when I was digging in a previous version on Sheets, thinking I was only changing some of the header text. I’ve got him at the very end of the Team Streamer tier, ranking 91st. Let’s see how this trip to Baltimore goes this week but then a LAD/at CIN 2-step next week is scary for pitchers way better than Lambert so it’s far from a must-start. If we see another 8 punchies, I might mess around and run him in my Main Event but I would at least keep him even though benching a 2-step is usually grounds for roster removal (the idea being “if you’re not going to use them in a 2-step, are they really worth it?” but there are exceptions, IMO). He lines up for TEX and at MIN the following weeks after the 2-step.

He got +56! Still a 10% BB and 9% SwStr, both very underwhelming
If you squint a little, you can see some Webb in his underlying numbers.
GB rate up to 55% but unlike most GB pitchers, still gets his Ks.
Doesn’t get a lot of chase but also doesn’t get a lot of swings in the zone either (Webb has one of the lowest Z-swing%s year after year) (BTW, FG needs to add a column for Z-swing minus O-Swing. Super helpful stat IMO, and no fancy math needed)
SwStr% is low but Webb’s has never been high

I watched the Dodgers start and he looked so, so good for the 1st 3 innings including a fantastic back-to-back Ks of Ohtani and Tucker. And then. . . .just lost in the 4th. Four straight walks wrapped around a groundout. Got out of it with a double play, but that inning was just courting disaster. Then came out for the 5th like the 4th never happened and 1-2-3 with 2 Ks.
I love watching him pitch. All of his pitches have so much break on them. It’s easy to see how he’s having success.

ya i don’t rank injured guys bc it’s so up in the air and dependent on when they return but with Gray specifically, it’d be a Team Streamer ranking at best as i’ll give him a few starts upon returning to even out the skills (which have been terrible so far)
Where do you anticipate Giolito will rank when he’s ready for the majors?
Just a standard streamer at best until we see something. I don’t mind taking a shot or even stashing in deeper formats where SP is so scarce.
Hopefully Detmers results will start living up to that ranking
They definitely have with a 1.10 WHIP. ERA can be so deceptive. 4.28’s nothing to write home about, but it’s also not tanking a team. If his K-BB stays at or near 19%, the ERA potential is much better, but that spicy good WHIP is carrying the water for now

I really like the tier categories you made – it’s perhaps the most useful way to think about the pitchers since those are the “decision points” for them.

Aw crap, he got knocked off during one of the edits!! I do remember digging in some backlog versions on Google Sheets thinking I had only changed some headers that I was re-doing and Lambert was likely a casualty. Team Streamer right now, I’m going to see this out a bit. Not enamored with his LAD/at CIN 2-step next week, but let’s see how at BAL goes. Slated for TEX/at MIN after the 2-step.
