Today’s contest features Coors Field and a windy Wrigley. Which will you choose? Or is the correct answer always the Secret Door #3: The Houston Astros?

I hired the ghost of Ty Cobb to give the commencement speech for the second half of the season. Unfortunately, I didn’t realize his views of the sport have not changed since his death in 1961. Namely, he’s not a fan of home run celebrations or, uh, minorities.

Good news! Peripheral Prospects is back on a regular schedule. As a reminder, Alex Chamberlain and I share this column which is designed to identify un/under-hyped prospects. It is not unlike the former Fringe Five series. I have a mission statement. Behold.
Mission Statement: Peripheral Prospects seeks to identify obscure future fantasy contributors.
Alex likes to weave word-things before naming names. I’m impatient. Let’s jump straight into the action.
FanGraphs is mostly dark for a second straight day. And I’ll be using it as an excuse for a truncated column. I’m saving my efforts this day for a Peripheral Prospects post.
AGENDA
The overlords of FanGraphs – dark and otherwise – have declared this random mid-season day (and tomorrow) to be a holiday and thus we do not have to produce content. So consider this bonus material.

Self-congratulations to the Colorado A-Team for winning the 2008 World Series. Troy Glaus and Brian Roberts combined to squeeze across the clinching run against Brad Lidge. I joined this Sim league four years ago, prior to their 2005 season. Since then, I’ve been building for this 2008 run. I love it when a plan comes together. The A-Team also overcame a 0-3 game deficit in the Championship Series.
