Starting Pitcher Chart – June 15th

Bruce Kluckhohn-USA TODAY Sports

Daily SP Chart archive

The chart includes their season performance, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness over the last 30 days, my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues, and then a note about them. Obviously, there are league sizes beyond those three so it’s essentially a shallow, medium, deep. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s basically a risky stream for those spots.

These are general recommendations, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. This is for standard 5×5 roto leagues. The thresholds for H2H starts are generally lower, especially in points leagues so I thought there would be more value focusing on roto.

Paul Sporer’s Baseball Chat – June 14th, 2023

Transcript is available!

12:58

Paul Sporer: Welcome everyone, thanks for coming out! A few minutes from the official start, but feel free to drop your questions if you’re here early!

1:00

Scott TINSTAAPP: As a fellow JV owner in the Main, how worried should we be about his ROS outlook?

1:02

Paul Sporer: I’ve got some concerns but not actionable for me right now. A dud today miiight give me some pause at HOU next wk, but I can’t imagine sitting him before seeing 10 starts

1:02

Guest: WTAH Strider

1:02

Paul Sporer: Ran into a juggernaut!! sunglasses

1:02

Insert Witty Name Here: Time to worry about Strider? Fastball has lost a few ticks (I think, haven’t fully looked). He’s always been an injury risk.  Rest of staff is currently Darvish, Hunter Brown, Eury, Taj, it’s a shallow 11 teamer with an innings cap so streaming pitchers is an option.

Paul Sporer’s Baseball Chat – June 7th, 2023

Transcript is available!

1:04

Paul Sporer: Helllooooo everyone thanks for coming out!!

1:04

Fletch: Sporer – Buy low on Adolis?

1:04

Paul Sporer: LOL for sure 🙂

1:04

Ryan: Any concerns about the regression seen in Mitch Keller’s recent starts?

1:06

Paul Sporer: Not really, no. Yesterday’s was the only one that was bad. The trips to SF & SEA weren’t great w/10 ER in 12 IP, but he also had 16 Ks and 3 BB. He was never going to hold a 2.44 ERA, so this is some natural regression, I’m still fully in on him

1:06

Keith: Is it time to give up on Rafael Montero in a holds league?
