The Value of Activity in Ottoneu Leagues

I commonly hear people praising active managers in fantasy leagues, and there is good reason for this. Active managers make for a fun league. My favorite leagues are the ones with regular transactions, trades, etc., where every manager is engaged. While activity makes for a fun league, the praise for active managers often assumes active managers are “good” or “winning” managers. Fun is hard to measure, but good we can try to validate.

The Easiest Way to Start Ottoneu: Claim a Team

As draft season ramps up, one of the most common questions I get is how to get started with Ottoneu. It can, admittedly, be overwhelming if you don’t know what you are looking at. Starting a new league is a challenge – you need 12 managers committed to a long-term venture together. Building a roster from scratch can be a challenge. And so I recommend people start by claiming a team.

Ottoneu Tiered Rankings Intro

I have done tiered Ottoneu rankings for FanGraphs Points leagues for a few years now, and every year I write a version of the same intro over and over again. This year, I am just going to write this up, link back to it, and then for the intro to each ranking, I can talk a bit about the position overall. For today, no rankings just yet.
