Small point of clarification, Leonys Martin nearly died from a _bacterial_ infection which led to sepsis, a leading cause of death in the US which our healthcare system has not done a good job of publicizing and treating. The scary part about it is that anyone, young or old, can rapidly develop sepsis if an infection goes untreated, and the majority of those whose symptoms are not caught early die. Martin is one of the lucky ones.

I’m sure this is a fine list, but I just looked at it and then looked up the ADP and holy smokes it overlooks some people (at least to me). Jumping off the page:

Zobrist @ 427 (especially in OBP) wouldn’t you want someone projected to get on base at a .350 clip that late?

Camargo @436 I know he’s not guaranteed PT, but I think there’s a good chance he unseats Swanson, and even if he doesn’t he looks capable of getting 400+ PA in a Marwin G type role.

Verdugo @ 440 Maybe he wins the job over Pederson in ST, maybe not, but I can’t pass on a 65 hit tool this late

Neil Walker @ 455 The man has one below average year with the bat and everybody forgets about him. I know he doesn’t have a regular position, but that Marlins team is weak and outside of 2018 Walker has hit. Worth a late round $1

Daniel Robertson @ 505 (especially for OBP) I’m betting he forces his way onto the field with his on base ability and defense. Makes a great late pick

Ok, fair enough. Maybe a poor choice of words as I just wanted to point out I had other preferences. League type surely plays a big role here as I play ottoneu points, not 5×5. I realize this is ROTOgraphs, not pointsleaguegraphs and you’re only one guy, can’t do everything. Maybe we also disagree, in which case we fortunately get to start finding out soon enough. Happy Opening Day!

Great episode Paul and helpful in sorting out the first week of FAAB for me. I was super bummed to miss out on Adam Frazier, Jung Ho Kang, and Leonys Martin in my 15-team auction draft because I ran out of money and was trying to hold off on nominating them until most people had finished drafting.

Anyway, could you and Justin do a future episode about punting categories? Have either of you been able to punt a category and win your leagues? I reached a bit too far on a few players I liked and didn’t end up with any solid closers (Taylor Rogers and Carlos Martinez are my two speculative RPs). Would love any strategies you guys have about approaching this in-season.
