love the Saturday format. However, the podcast ends during Matt Boyd (Itunes)
Wait, what? It cuts early?!
Mine died after Boyd too
Hmm, try deleting and re-downloading
same for me, i use Stitcher. only got around a half hour of audio.
I deleted it and re-downloaded, but it still cuts out for me on Android via the Pocket Casts app.
Yup still bad for me too
Still the same for me too. Just downloaded the MP3 straight from this site and it shows up as a 35:17 min podcast and cuts off while talking about Jackie Bradley’s injury. Refreshing my podcast feed doesn’t help either.
Wow that’s frustrating. I have no idea how to fix that because I can’t even emulate the issue.
I re-uploaded the file under a different name. Try now.
It works now
Yep working now, thanks Paul!
Mine worked perfectly.
I wouldnt cut Liriano until after he pitches to Martin. Unfathomable that Gibbons would think it was a good idea to start Salty with Liriano on the mound.
In a 12-team, H2H 7×7 (QS/L) league would you take Cotton over Odorizzi (or Gsellman)?
Am I just chasing upside over floor here?
I’m OK w/Cotton over Gsellman, have them close and both are upside plays. Odorizzi over both.
Loving the list of players discussed. Time stamps would be amazing though.
I will on these episodes going forward. Truth be told, I had a family event right up against the recording of this so I couldn’t do it before leaving yesterday
Taking you up on your invitation to post questions in the comments section of the pod. I appreciate the move to Saturday. It’s really helpful to hear your views on who to pick up and who to drop.
I am in a 10 team mixed keeper, standard 5×5. I just picked up Jimmy Nelson, who is slotted into our last (40th) round, the ultimate “churn” spot. However, I think Nelson has turned the corner, so I might want to keep him, and it’s really too early to tell. It looks like after his first start, and taking into account his Spring Training, that he may have turned the corner with his K%-BB%. Do you agree? Please support your answer as it will help me learn how to assimilate these statistics.
Also, I am in an NFBC 12-team mixed. I am thinking of picking up Nelson, Freeland, Graveman, Rafael Montero, Senzatela or Shields. Which one would you pick up? This is in a churn spot, too.
Thanks.
Would you guys drop Welington Castillo for Rupp or Derek Norris? 12 team H2H mixed 6×6(OPS)
Nah, all very similar and prefer Beef among the group
Love the new day, heard eno fine but paul was too soft
10 team mixed keeper; pickup G Soto and drop either T D’Arnaud, W CAstillo or Mesoraco?
You have all of those Cs in a 10 team?! Cut Meso or TDA for Soto.
40 roster spots. Does that change your mind?
Yes, it does at least a bit. Go Castillo, Soto, and your favorite of TDA / Meso. Don’t hold all four.
Dropped TDA, Meso is due back end of April, many people say. :>) thanks.
Would you try to take advantage of the Turner inury? Trade my Gordon and Ray for Turner in a 12tm 5×5 Roto dynasty?
Ya, go for it!
12 tm mixed. Crazy to start 2X Cotton over Tanaka this week? How concerned are you over Tanaka? (Other SPs: Degrom, McCullers, Kuechel, Shoe, Bundy)
I’m not too worried about Tanaka. I’d still start him over Cotton.
Love the ownership %s. Great stuff guys
Thanks. I’ll get the timestamps with it next week
Hey guys, love the show. I have a very ridiculous question for ya. I have a deep pitching staff in my 12 team 5×5 OBP QS h2h keeper league; SP: Bumgarner, Verlander, deGrom, McCullers, Bundy, Wacha, Cotton, Berrios and Rodon, Smyly in my 2 DL slots. RP: Oh, Watson, Jansen, Holland, Treinen, Devenski. We have 7 bench spots to explain my depth, problem is my OF and 3B could use some help and the waiver wire is pretty barren. Hamilton, Grichuk, Haniger, Toles, Souza Jr., Dickerson, and Sandoval, Healy. What pitchers would be willing to part with, and any bat recommendations to go after? Sorry for the elongated explanation, but figured the more info the better. Thanks in advance!
14 teamer 5×5 H2H, Wei-Yin Chen or C.Morton? Doolittle or A. Vizcaino?
Morton, Doolittle
I’m not sure anybody has made a comment about this but I just wanted to let you know that the volume difference between your voice and Eno’s voice is making it hard to listen to the podcast. If I have it at normal volume, I can hear you but barely any of Eno’s voice. If I make it loud enough to be able to hear Eno’s, then your voice becomes too loud.
Ya we’re quite familiar with it. Not sure what’s going on on his end that’s causing it. We’ll continue to work on it, though, I promise
11 team 7×7 mixed roto, Mitch haniger, Adam Eaton, or Joc Pedserson, which of the 3 starts as my Utility in week 2?
Eaton
Toles was just dropped in my 10 team NL only. $100 FAAB — how much would you toss his way in next week’s bidding round?
10-13%
Thanks for responding Paul. And FWIW, I haven’t really noticed any audio issues in quite some time. Maybe my ears just aren’t as sensitive as others?
I like the Saturday timing. Can you add a few comments in the future for deeper leagues (AL and NL only). Maybe 2 or 3 guys you’re looking at in those formats. For example, some thoughts on Dan Altavilla (now setting up in SEA) and Jesse Hahn (velo appears up even after considering differences in velo measurement) would have been helpful. An interesting name for next week is Joe Jimenez. Thank you!
Paul, what kind of dog is Charlotte?
I took a $1 gamble on Jarrett Parker in my custom ESPN league. (12 team, 6×6 with OPS included for hitters.) I know the best course of action after one week is to stay patient, but as the investment is so minimal should I cut bait now and revisit if Parker’s bat ever comes around?
I’m all ready beat on the Souza scoop. Here are some other OFs and waivers I’m eyeing: Pillar, Seth Smith, Mallex Smith, Aaron Hicks. Thoughts?
Can you guys look at Jimmy Nelson if he pitches well in his next start (@ Cincy)? Although the sample size is small, it looks like he has decreased the use of his FB and CB, and increased, slightly, the use of his SL and drastically the use of his CH. Hard contact dropped significantly while medium contact rose. K/9 and K/BB both rose substantially. Again, small sample.
Thanks, and keep up the good work.
20 team H2H keeper league – add OBP and SLG, K/BB and QS (S+H). Have an offer of getting Devon Travis, give Bedrosian. Bedrosian is my best RP, but might not keep him bc of RP volatility. I have Schoop at 2b and would use Travis in Util with Dietrich and Buxton as other Util options. Would probably drop Dietrich if i do the trade…
Should i do it?
Standard 5×5 15 team mixed league. Currently own Hernan Perez, interested in Owings, Haniger and Cesar Hernandez. Can you rank them so I know who to pick up? Thanks
Prepare for the Michael Pineda onslaught from those who took your recommendation to drop him. I did not take that recommendation. :>)
Wait til his next start 🙂
Awesome idea to have a waiver wire episode. Nice frame for a discussion.
How do you feel about burning the #1 waiver claim on Domingo Santana in a 14 team head to head 5×5 (OBP instead of avg)?. I think I’m a little light on RBI and HR. I’m good for steals but a few more doesn’t hurt!
I’d be dropping Russel Martin – for some reason i drafted 2 catcher….idiot that i am – auctions make you do weird things!
I know you’re not a big prospect guy, but what do you think the odds are that Moncada is another Buxton. Lots of strikeouts and struggles with breaking stuff. If I move him in a 16-team dynasty, thoughts on players that might be a fair trade?
Do you think Russell Martin’s a bust?
10 team league, not keeper. Thinking about picking up soto, castillo, or d’arnaud.
Would you drop Kiermaier or Grichuk for Margot?
