Sounds like Justin isn’t accounting for Verlander experiencing some rust, needing to rebuild his stamina, etc from his TJ recovery return when dinging him for degradation of “skills”. Verlander basically hadn’t pitched in real games at all, except for just 1 game, for 2 whole years going into 2022 afterall. And yet, he still managed to throw 175IPs w/ great results, if not *quite* as great as his previous form (yet).

Not saying there shouldn’t be any hesitations at all since he is 40yo, but seems like Justin may just have become a bit too wary/conservative about such concerns though…
