Dan: Need some H2H playoff advice, please: I have Kikuchi, Gilbert, and Logan all starting on the road against Houston. Last week I benched them at home ag. Houston and survived. How would you rate these guys as giving me the best chance to keep ratios intact? Thanks for the words of wisdom.

Jeff Zimmerman: Sit them if you care about ratios. If not, the order for me would be Gilbert, Kikuchi, and Logan

Chantanella: I’m battling it out for top 3 in a 12-tm roto dynasty league and could use some S+Hs. I don’t really have an obvious cut, especially on the pitching side of things.

Is Dominic Smith worth holding onto since it’s dynasty or is this year more indicative of the talent and he should be the guy I drop for a RP?

Jeff Zimmerman: If you are trying to win, drop Smith. He’s only been a decent hitter in 2020

Franciss Murph: Any chance Bassitt comes back and makes a start or two?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably not and if he does, it’ll be for just a start or two

Guest: Triston McKenzie is available in my 15 team NFC. I’m in 2nd. Still chasing some pitching categories. I have $127. What should I bid?

Jeff Zimmerman: You still have $127. Nice

Jeff Zimmerman: If others have similar totals, $40 to $70. Who else would show up. If others in the league are lower, you can use some game theory to beat them

Bruno: I have Jorge Mateo and Harold Castro to fill in injury holes. I could replace them with pitching this week, but I see the Orioles and Tigers have great hitting schedules this week, so I’m tempted to keep them. Do you put much stock in schedules in the stretch run?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, I especially count every game to get as many at-bats as possible

Closers: Floro or Givens?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think Givens with Floro’s blowup today

Jeff Zimmerman: Villar probably

G: How would you rank Kowar, Ryan and Otto streams this week? Or prefer to skip any? 16 tm H2H semis 6×6 w/ QS and K:BB.

Jeff Zimmerman: Otto, Kowar, skip Ryan

SS: Filling in SS for Tim Anderson for one week or so in OBP League… who should I take Sosa, Escobar, or Urias (left game early)?

Jeff Zimmerman: Sosa is the easy #1. Check in on MIL’s Urias since Adames went on the IL

Jeff Zimmerman: I think safest is Gonzalez. I plan on starting Webb in all my leagues though knowing it could go south.

Swin: Currently have Abraham Toro as a backup for Machado at 3B and Ty France at 2B. Heading into a tight first round playoff matchup with an offensive juggernaut of a team. The Reds have a pretty nice schedule coming up and I’m thinking of replacing Toro with Kyle Farmer. Thoughts?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, that’s a reasonable swap

Jeff Zimmerman: I think he’ll get the at-bats, I’m just not sure they will be impactful

Jeff Zimmerman: Sure but if you have an ace (e.g. Woodruff) and he’s projected to provide below your threshold, his extra IP will weight the improvement more than better RP

Jeff Zimmerman: I think he’s good, but his start is at risk for not happening.

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s only 4 weeks let and managers need to try to win every week

Jeimer: No question but I have a fantasy crush on Candelario and his freely available production

Conundrum: I have $1 FA left w 4 wks to go; fighting for first; tight in numerous categories; lost both 1B eligible players to season-ending injuries; two out of my 3 closers (Reyes n Bard) lost their roles.

Jeff Zimmerman: This is a major issue of not being able to say no to pricey adds. Having one move left with a month to go will doom a team. I make sure mine can make 3-5 with injuries and players being shutdown

Jeff Zimmerman: An interesting one might be Baz in TB. They have him throwing again, but might just be added for the playoffs

Not so sweet Lou: Trevino is killing me. Would you drop for a good-ratio no saves RP in a saves league where I need the saves and ratios equally?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d drop and maybe add one the TB guys who get Saves

Jeff Zimmerman: 1%. I’m a little worried he’ll make his scheduled start next Sunday
