Anders: Missed out on Alvarez…when would you expect Tucker to be up?

Jeff Zimmerman: No one has any clue when a player is going to be up. We don’t know anything more than anyone else. If I was to answer this question, I’d just be making up an answer.

Jeff Zimmerman: The only date I know on a prospect is Cease because someone on the team said he’d be up around the ASG.

Mikey N: Someone dropped DeShields in AL only league. In need of steals, only $41 of $100 FAAB left. $7 too much?

Jeff Zimmerman: That’s probably about right. You might be able to go a few dollars more in $0 bids allowed.

Rob: Top question for today.  Does yordan Alvarez stay up all year and where do you rank him in the outfield right now?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think there is a probably a 50% chance he gets demoted if the team stands put.

Jeff Zimmerman: They have several players without options. They might be to the point of trading/releasing some.

Jeff Zimmerman: Also, they have 3 stars on the IL. They will play when they return.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’ll need to hit to stay up (the HR helps today) as the Astros are contending for playoffs and can’t let him struggle in the majors too long.

Kyle B: Jeff, recently lost Molina. Would you hang tight w/ Alfaro at catcher or take a chance on Sisco?

Jeff Zimmerman: Alfaro based on playing time but Sisco is not a bad option.

Naval: In a 15tm 5×5 with limited transactions.  Is it worth dropping Blake Parker to get Holland or Hansel Robles for an RP spot?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes. I have a formula which tries to find closers on the hot seat and Parker was the only one.

Donkey: Better stash Zac Gallen or Alex Reyes?

Jeff Zimmerman: Reyes since his promotion is coming soon. If he struggles, he can be cut for Gallen

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s going to head back down.

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on need but Goldy in a vacuum.

Guest: 12 teamer and I’m getting bit by injuries. Cut Domingo German for Framber, Trevor Richards or Julio Teheran?

Jeff Zimmerman: No unless you need a pitcher to fill the starting roster.

Bryan: Watching the Tony’s and already falling asleep.

Jeff Zimmerman: Nice, I might turn on once done because I could use some Z’s

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure of their matchups. Both

Jeff Zimmerman: Smoak but there is a chance he could get trade and be a bench bat

Chud: Plesac, FValdez, or Matz? Who should I bid on the most to replace DGerman?

Jeff Zimmerman: Matz, than Plesac, then Valdez

CK: Bryan Reynolds has given me some great deep league points value so far,  who’s the next ‘off the radar’ call up who is going to surprise/who you are stashing (<10% ownership) ?

Jeff Zimmerman: Cuthbert or Locastro

Chicken Parma John: Believing in John Means as a 2 start person next week despite pitching for the “Baltimore Orioles”, alleged MLB team?

Jeff Zimmerman: Sure, he’s decent as long as the starts aren’t at home

Bryan: ROS: Franmil Reyes or Avasail Garcia in OBP league?

Jeff Zimmerman: Reyes for me

Acuna Fan: Trade Yordan for Muncy in a keep forever league where both are $1 forever? Or seek more for Alvarez?

Jeff Zimmerman: You should be able to get more. Lots more based on the hype.

Redbull: C. Moran or K. Seager ROS ? Any chance Moran loses playing to Kang?

Jeff Zimmerman: Go with Moran for now and possibly look for some good matchups.

Redbull: Will C. Biggio start to hit before he gets demoted?

Jeff Zimmerman: Magic 8 ball says: No such luck

Jeff Zimmerman: That answer is a lie but I think I’ll get one before my next chat to answer the vague questions.

Bryan: Over/Under: Pivetta 10k per 9 inning this year.

Jeff Zimmerman: Over. It’s been there for a couple of years. The problem is the run he allows every other inning.

Lord Dark Helmet: Too soon to give up on Brendan Rodgers in a keep 6-forever, no cost 14-team 5×5 league, right? It has not been great so far. NOW they finally like McMahon?

Jeff Zimmerman: So 84 keepers.

Jeff Zimmerman: I just don’t see him being a top 84 player right now. Maybe just hold-and-hope for a while.

KC: Where do you generally rank Neris in the NL among the closers?  So inconsistent in the past and manager scares me, but he has looked so good this year.

Jeff Zimmerman: Top 7 or 8. He’s been great so far this season.

Redbull: Is Cano worth an IL stash? Or droppable?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes but depends if another player is dropped.

Dave Roberts: What should I do with Ross Stripling in a 12-team H2H categories league?

Jeff Zimmerman: Drop him

Jeff Zimmerman: 12 team is shallow enough to find a streamer option.

Marvin: You still holding Chavis in shallow (10-team) formats?

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on the other options. I know I’m holding in 12 teamers.

Mark: What do you think about Kevin Newman? Worth putting a bid on?

Jeff Zimmerman: I like him. The playing time was an issue but it’s not anymore.

Ian: Sogard or Cuthbert

Jeff Zimmerman: Cuthbert. He could be worse but I feel Sogard will still be on the WW

Dental Work: Think Delino DeShields keeps playing time even after Gallo returns?

Jeff Zimmerman: It depends on what they decide to do with Odor. If Odor keeps stinking it up, DeShields will head back to the minors.

Cory: Any need to keep CMart for anything?  10 team roto with a 40 man roster.  Keeper, keep 25 of 40 each year.  Duplantier, Plesac, Mahle, Quantrill or Lynn ?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d keep CMart to EOS and see how he does. Too much talent to let go. That being said, if adding a pitcher to use this season to win could help, add them and ct CMart

Paul: I can keep Jose Ramirez forever in the 10th round, no inflation. I expected to compete this year on the back of an unstoppable offense, led by Ramirez. Instead, my offense has multiple underperformers and I’m hanging around in 4th. Would you deal Ramirez hoping someone is still buying that keeper value? (12 team H2H, 6×6, traditional cats plus OPS and QS)

Jeff Zimmerman: Hold in the 10th round. While not great, he should at least get back to 10th round value. And could be 1st round at some point again.

VottomanEmpire: You mentioned Cuthbert – does he stay up and keep some playing time when Dozier returns (presumably in a few days)? Does he platoon at 1B with O’Hearn, or take over?

Jeff Zimmerman: Imaginary 8-ball says: Unclear

Jeff Zimmerman: My guess is that O’Hearn gets demoted if Cuthbert keeps hitting. If he doesn’t, he’ll get demoted. Cuthbert falls into the same category as all other prospects but at a fraction of the cost.

Pope: 15 team NFBC.  Could use ratios help. How much would you bid on Eflin fresh of the IL?

Jeff Zimmerman: 1% to 2%. I might even go min bid if necessary.

Dan: Ozzie Albies: any rebound there or cut and run?

Jeff Zimmerman: Rebound to what? Some hot month. He’s not a great hitter and is probably comparable to Ketel Marte.

Kimbrel and keuchel: In my nl only league they have just been added to the player pool and are up for bidding tonight. How much of my faab budget should I use? Do I hold  anything back for later deadline trades from the al?

Jeff Zimmerman: And you might have Jay Bruce also.

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s not about %’s with these players. It’s about how many dollars everyone has left.

Jeff Zimmerman: Does the person with the hammer go all or part way in? Where do you rank? I think you could 50% or more spend on Kimbrell and 25% plus on the other two

Yordan: AL Only Dynasty league. I have $53/100 FAAB left. Need an OF. How much do I bid on Yordan?

Jeff Zimmerman: $30 if only $1 bids allowed. I’d go $53 if $0 bids since it’s dynasty.

Ryan : I’m in desperate need of Runs, HRs, and RBI. Who do you like out of R. Nunez, Aguilar, M. Cabrera, Dozier, Pollock, K. Hernandez, B. Reynolds, K. Seager, Reddick, Franco?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s Nunez for now. Was Reynolds but he could be hurting for playing time soon.
Keep an eye on Pollock’s progress. He could be back before the ASG

Imaginary 8-ball: Your boy Cuth, Arizona’s Cron, or Mr Naylor

Jeff Zimmerman: I like Cron’s talent but I’m not sure he’ll play much. Same with Naylor. Cuth for now but keep an eye on the AZ situation.

Dwight: Domingo Santana over Jordan Alvarez (both OF eligible) in points (10 teams H2H)?

Jeff Zimmerman: Alvarez. Santana is replacement level talent ina 10-teamer.

isaac: do you think jake bauers is worth holding onto in a 12-team AL Only with 15 keepers max?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes on some team. Maybe not yours though. He’s a frustrating player to own this year.

Mike: Am I nuts to bid all of my remaining FAAB on Kimbrel in NL only. Teams don’t spend all year to wait for the Machado type players to be traded over, so I’ll have no shot on that type of player anyway. $0 bids are allowed.

Jeff Zimmerman: No, not at all but you may be able to less. Say you’re at $85 and the next person is at $73. You can bid $74 and still get him. The only issue is if someone higher than you at like $89 bids $75.

Jeff Zimmerman: You might check to see if those ahead of you in FAAB need a closer, especially if one is the Strop owner.

Ryan : Any players you would recommend picking up in anticipation of the trade deadline – either hitters/pitchers being likely put in a more favorable park or a future closer because of the old one being moved?

Jeff Zimmerman: Look at the bullpen. MLBTR usually has a nice list of players to be traded and most of the top 20 get moved

Jeff Zimmerman: SF is a good one. Maybe TOR. Pit.

Jose Martinez: Does Jose Martinez find playing time as we get into July/August? Fowler is no bueno!

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe. I’m surprised he’s played as much as he has this season.

chris mcclish: is Luis Urias our next best stash and hold for hitters now that Yordan has risen?

Jeff Zimmerman: No, Urias isn’t that good. I’d roster Tucker instead Maybe in McKay since he got promoted to AAA

Dan: Who do you recommend between Riley and Yordan in a 10 team H2H?

Jeff Zimmerman: Riley for 19 only, Yordan in a keeper
