Jeff Zimmerman: Lots of Manoah questions

Jeff Zimmerman: I would not consider dropping him until he has another start. With the potential upside, he can’t be evaluated on two starts

Cavan down by the river: Cavan Biggio and Austin Hays dropped in 15 TM NFBC either worth a bid? Struggling for bats.

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes on Biggio. Biggio was playing hurt so he might come back on fire. Not that high on Hays. He’s not been that good

Eva’s Woman: Would you drop Pineda or Odorizzi in a 12tm h2h to take a shot at Jackson Kowar?

Jeff Zimmerman: Take a shot on Kowar, if you don’t get him, Pineda

Scradley Brad: Help! Catcher is thin in my 15 team league. Need one to plug in. Reese McGuire or Ryan Jeffers?

Jeff Zimmerman: Jeffers and don’t miss out on Stassi or Haase

Jeff Zimmerman: I have him in too many leagues (drafted and held). He’s my injury bench replacement now.

Quarantino Martinez: Austin Hays or Trevor Larnach (al only, obp league)?

Jeff Zimmerman: Larnach, he’s an OBP machine

Quarantino Martinez: Gittens hasn’t had a hit yet, but is he worth an add? Al only, obp, choosing between him, Bradley and Maikel Franco.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d go Franco (more playing time). Gittens is a short term call up.

Guest: Drop Trevor May for Shane Greene in Hold & save league?

Jeff Zimmerman: No

feddy: how would you rank hansel robles paul fry scott barlow gregory soto and jp feyerisen

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on what you are after?  Soto and Fey will get some Saves, but won’t always be the closer. Robles in the same boat. Barlow and Fry might get the full-time job.

feddy: last week i asked you about harold ramirez and you said pivot to willi castro. are you still feeling the same way this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: I didn’t chat last week.

Jeff Zimmerman: Harold Ramirez is the choice right now. Castro has had limited playing time.

Scott TINSTAAPP: Detroit closing situation thoughts? Soto faced batters 6/7/8 on Sat. night before Cisnero came in in the 9th for the save. Sorry if I sent this twice!

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d hold Soto. And Fulmer could return by the end of the week.

feddy: rather have miley or cueto ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think their talent is similar, so I like Miley in the weaker Central

Dead Ball Stitches: Some painful multi-team drops today, do you think it’s going too far?  Joey Gallo in 10 team points and Kolten Wong in 12 team OBP 5×5.  Are you ever willing to take a zero for 4 days or a week at like MI to avoid a drop?

Jeff Zimmerman: I never take zeros and there is a chance to add them the next week

Roto dud: Hi Jeff, M Chapman’s Statcast numbers are ugly.  Time to move on?  Schoop a better CI option?

Jeff Zimmerman: I could see benching Chapman … a mess

feddy: between olivares, odubel, baddoo, taylor ward, and victor robles, which would you rather have in OBP? are any of them better than kelenic or villar?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d rather be starting Olivares and Herrera. I’d find a way to hold Kelenic

feddy: do billy mckinney and jake fraley have any viability in 12 teamers or are they deeper league plays

Jeff Zimmerman: No, not in 12-teamers. Maybe take a chance on Fraley. I’m a little worried about his playing time. Sat today.

Jon: Is Kowar anything more than a flier?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s a 2% to 5% pitcher.

KCBBq: Who would you rather have in a 12 team AL only H2H using W+QS, Sandoval, Stripling or Dunning for ROS and 2022? I’m leaning towards playing for 2022 but haven’t toally waived the white flag.

sonny’s grey: read Thusday is cutoff date for super 2, will Brujan be first call up after

Jeff Zimmerman: The super 2 cutoff is not known until the season is over. It moves all the time.

Jeff Zimmerman: Sometimes it occurs in early May

Jeff Zimmerman: Everyone uses June 10th because that’s the latest the cutoff has ever been. It’s possible that teams wait a week or two longer just to be sure.

Guest: Should I hold onto Kluber ?

Jeff Zimmerman: I would not

feddy: are you adding senzatela for his two step this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s in my bids lists. I hope I don’t have to make the call

KCBBq: Maeda had another bullpen today, 35 pitches. He’s dealing with “arm soreness” but won’t say more. He also has had a drop in velo. That’s a warning sign to me. But is he still worth bidding on today? If so, how much? We use $100 FAAB. I have $36 left.

Jeff Zimmerman: $1 at most. You’ll need the money to keep making moves.

Sean: Would you drop Fulmer for Lucas Sims? If so, how much FAAB would you bid? 12 team roto

Jeff Zimmerman: I would, but the move is just a small improvement so just a small amount of money. 1%

Jeff Zimmerman: 5% at most. I’d save for the other rookies on the way.

Jon: Worth holding onto Adell right now/are the Angels ever gonna call him up?

Jeff Zimmerman: Watch his strikeout rate. They aren’t calling him up until he gets it under control.

Jeff Zimmerman: They’ve stated the need for him to improve first.

Jeff Zimmerman: The strikeout rate is down to 30%. It was as high as 35%

Ronald: Do you think Luis Garcia will stick in rotation?

Jeff Zimmerman: I hope so

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m dealing with what to do with Javier

Pops: Welcome back!  I’m assuming Hiura is a drop even in keeper leagues?  Kid just looks lost. I had low expectations with the high k%, but he’s been even worse

Jeff Zimmerman: Possibly but try to trade

Rob: Is Schoop with the pickup or will it just be a flash in the pan?

Jeff Zimmerman: Schoop is doing what he has always done. Add for the consistency

Steven: J Sanchez of the Marlins. Top 3 call up in near future?

Jeff Zimmerman: One issue with Sanchez is that he was called up last year and those days are prorated to 2.7.

Jeff Zimmerman: If the Marlins want to manipulate his service clock, they will need to wait to call him up about a month later than the other callups.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s got some mystery injury …. no idea.

SCOTT TINSTAAPP: Hold Turnbull in 15-team NFBC a week till we get clearer news on his injury? We’d be forgoing a just-in-case bench bat for second period of the week.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think I plan on dropping in one league and holding in another. With a 15-team, there is no pitching out there so I’d hold.

Jim: Do you see Manning coming up after super 2?  Seems like the long ball is hurting him

Jeff Zimmerman: He doesn’t seem right. Even if he got the call, I would not want to roster him.

Olivares: Was excited to see Olivares recalled. Him or Bradley Zimmer?

Jeff Zimmerman: Olivares

Guest: Bohm and Javier both dropped in my 12 team 5×5 roto. Doing well in hitting but need pitching help in Ks and WHIP. What percent FAAB would you drop on Bohm and Javier?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure which Javier, but Bohm has been unplayable. I could even see him getting demoted at some point. I would not spend much at all on Bohm as a bench bat

Mike E P: Any thoughts on Braves SP Tucker Davidson?

Jeff Zimmerman: There are some interesting traits that wight be worth a stash.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m passing, but his velo has been trending back up to 94 mph where is broke out at last season.

Cito: Drop Patrick Corbin in a points league where Gomber, Martin Perez, Minor, Keller and Irvin are the best available SP?

Jeff Zimmerman: Corbin is now a streaming option for me

Jeff Zimmerman: I would not have a problem cutting him.

Jeff Zimmerman: In one league he’s available, and I didn’t put a bid on him. I like my pitchers better.

Jeff Zimmerman: Look at his Apr and May splits especially with the plate discipline.

Jeff Zimmerman: That said, the playing time has dried up

Jeff Zimmerman: No, not yet since Sanchez might not get the call for more than a month

Jeff Zimmerman: You’re welcome … I wish I had added him more

Bob: Do you think Bellinger is just off to a slow restart after IL stint and will rebound to the Bellinger of old?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m worried he’ll never be the same.

Jeff Zimmerman: Just imagine having Lindor and him as your first two picks. I can.

Guest: caleb smith worth picking up in a 12 teamed?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s tough to evaluate. Great in the bullpen. Maybe OK as a starter. Add, bench, and wait

Smokey: E Rod worth holding onto? ERA is rough but xERA, FIP, and xFIP are all under 4.00. Replacements would be someone like Skubal, Eovaldi, or Pivetta. (12-tm, H2H)

Limited roster moves per season is the only thing making it a difficult cut.

Jeff Zimmerman: I would for Pivetta (dropped walk rate) and Skubal (must add) to see if he can get the results coming.

Pat Wisdom skeptic: Tell me I’m wrong.

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know where I stand. I need to dive in and see if pitchers have started adjusting.

Jeff Zimmerman: It seems like he’s seeing more offspeed

Jeff Zimmerman: All the homers are off fastballs and sliders

Jeff Zimmerman: 10% to 20%.

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes, mainly because Washington is facing 3 lefties next week and Bell will sit during those starts.
