Sunday Night Waiver Wire & FAAB Chat
7:31 |
: Welcome
7:32 |
: Just a heads up. I have been busy most of the day so, besides the major headlines, I’ll lack many of today’s details
7:33 |
: Here are the 15-team, mixed league FAAB results from Tout Wars.

![]() |
7:34 |
: Fulmer and Robles both blew saves today. Which would you rather have for the near future?
7:34 |
: Fulmer, fewer decent options in the bullpen
7:34 |
: Corey Seager was dropped in my 15 team NFBC. How much of my $640 FAAB should I spend?
7:35 |
: I think it’ll take around $300, now I’m 100% sure if that is the best use of your resources.
7:36 |
: It’s a tough call. If it was me, I’d go with a $150 keep’em honest bid
7:36 |
: Do I waive either of Austin Nola or Christian Vazquez for Wilson Ramos?
7:36 |
: I think it comes down to needs
7:36 |
: Vazquez can provide some speed
7:37 |
: Ramos volume
7:37 |
: Nola AVG
7:37 |
: They are each decent, but provide a different skill set
7:38 |
: Have to drop either Hoerner or Hays, OBP league, which one gets the boot? if it helps, i think hays has 7 games this week and hoerner has 6
7:38 |
: Hays is the drop, he’s shown no upside, very blah
7:38 |
: apparently cavan has been playing through a neck injury all year. when he returns from IL are we gonna see a different cavan?
7:39 |
: That would be great, but we’ll see.
7:39 |
: I’ve not been impressed with how the Jays have been handling injuries.
7:40 |
: Since William Contreras and Mike Zunino are still on my waiver wire, would it make sense to try to trade christian vazquez for a quality hitter, and then drop some other vegetable for contreras/zunino?
7:40 |
: If you can, sure.
7:40 |
: If you had to guess, what are your estimated call up time-frame for Alek Manoah and Vidal Brujan? Sooner or later?
7:41 |
With teams being cheap (i.e. the Rays), the Super 2 deadline is important for them to keep costs done.
The formula is confusing as hell and every year the date moves. It’s not even a date but the amount of service time the player occurs in that season. |
7:41 |
: The second tweet in the thread shows the time frames.
7:42 |
: Does Santana play when Arroyo comes back? Him or Taylor Walls?
7:42 |
: I think Santana has several options to keep playing with several bats not hitting (Franchy and Marwin).
7:43 |
: If someone needs a shot to get their team going, Santana is it if he returns to the 20/20 production of 2019
7:43 |
: Been enjoying Harold Castro, but he’s not playing every day. Drop for Taylor Walls? OBP league.
7:45 |
: I’m not sure Walls is actually a good hitter, just average.
7:45 |
: That said, add Walls. Castro’s skill set is replacement and I could be wrong about Walls
7:46 |
: Eno has an eye for Wil Crowe based on his “stuff”. Are you seeing anything special worth adding to a deep league, pitching starved roster?
7:47 |
: I have my own “stuff” metric and his around the top 1/4 to 1/3 of starters
7:48 |
: The issue with him is the walks (5.6 BB/9 in the majors).
7:48 |
: He’s missing some tools
7:48 |
: youd take santana over mazara right? where would you have mazara in your waiver list? seem like you are not a fan
7:49 |
: Santana way over Mazara. Mazara has never been a good player. Why would he start now
7:49 |
: William Contreras, Haase, or Meija? There seems to be lots of catchers this year that can hit ok!!!
7:50 |
: This going to be a controversial take, but it’s Haase especially if he keeps hitting and playing in the outfield
7:51 |
: Haase is a must add in all 2 catcher formats
7:51 |
: Just watch those K’s
7:51 |
: Pham or Bader ROS
7:52 |
: Bader if he keeps the K% down
7:52 |
: where would larnach rank on your pick up list? have him currently in al only but wondering if santana or walls or any of these guys would be better?
7:52 |
: Larnach hasn’t been the best and not playing all the time.
7:52 |
: I’d add Santana and Walls
7:53 |
: adames or tauchman ros for you?
7:53 |
: Tauchman and it’s not close
7:53 |
: Chavis also a candidate to get demoted to free up some time
7:53 |
: True in Boston
7:53 |
: Bubic, Kelly, Gomber, or Perez? Any interesting streamers so I can replace Duffy?
7:54 |
: Bubic has the combo of potential upside and two-start week.
7:54 |
: Gomber is a reasonable stream, but don’t bust the bank. He’s back to the wire next week
7:55 |
: I’m in a 14 team head to head points league. With Kirilloff coming off the DL, I need to cut one of the following: Bader, Naylor, Mountcastle or Kiriloff. How would you rank those 4?
7:55 |
: Bader, Kiriloff, Naylor, Bader.
7:56 |
: Now, Naylor could move up in the 1B eligibility helps.
7:56 |
: Do you think Adames will be the long-term Brewers Shortstop? He’s shown flashes he can hit, but at other times seems weak as a hitter.
7:57 |
: He’s a fine bat who is fine. I didn’t see any change in his value because of the trade.
7:58 |
: Garrett Richards available in 15 team. Could use a starter but is he worth?
7:58 |
: Yes, he made some mechanic adjustments and he’s been lights out over his last few starts.
7:58 |
: Danny Santana or Chad Pinder? AL only league and I need to replace Hicks
7:59 |
: Both … Pinder is a sneaky add this week. He’s been playing quite a bit
7:59 |
: Jorge Alfaro appears to be returning this week. 2 Bombs yesterday AAA. You take him over Ramos and Stephenson?
8:00 |
: Maybe Stephenson. All three should be rostered
8:01 |
: If there is FAAB involved, go with a min bid. Your current options are fine.
8:01 |
: Are you a Dobnak or Fleming buyer? Both available in my 12 team 5×5 AL only league. If so, are they worth more than a $1 bid? We use $100 FAAB
8:02 |
: In AL-only, for sure. maybe $2 each but I don’t know your league dynamics.
8:02 |
: Owen Miller a viable option in a less than middling Cleveland lineup?
8:03 |
: I’m trying to get a read on this move.
8:04 |
: I’m not 100% sure of his role
8:04 |
: luis castillo dropped in my nl only league. do you have faith in a rebound? I cant imagine he isnt better than some of my other options like davies, martin, keller but his performance so far has been awful
8:05 |
: I’d immediately add, I have faith in him
8:05 |
: Cut Zac Gallen for Spencer Howard, Severino or Manoah?
8:05 |
: Manoah
8:05 |
: Add him while you can
8:05 |
: Do you recommend Skubal’s two step against CLE/NYY?
8:06 |
: Yes, but I’m sure people will let me know if I’m wrong
8:06 |
: does darin ruf keep his job when belt comes back?
8:07 |
: Probably not at 1B but could see time in the OF
8:07 |
: Brendan Rodgers finally get a real chance to play, day in day out? I know it’s the Rockies….but?
8:08 |
: Add and see how it goes.
8:08 |
: how much should we bid for Brendan Rodgers in 15-team NFBC (optimistic about his rest of season viability)
8:08 |
: I think it’ll around $100, but it could be even more.
8:09 |
: My issue is that I’d prefer to wait on some of the other prospects about to be called up
8:09 |
: Adell has been heating up. Is he an add in most formats?
8:09 |
: Watch the strikeout rate. That was his issue in the majors.
8:10 |
: He has it down to 36%
8:10 |
: It was over 40%
8:10 |
: More saves next few months: Tyler Rogers or Taylor Rogers?
8:11 |
: No idea, but I’ll go with the safe bet of Taylor
8:11 |
: Choose 3 this week: Rich Hill vs. KC, Alzolay vs. CIN, McClanahan vs. KC, German Marquez @ NYM, Martin Perez vs. MIA, Alex Cobb @ OAK?
8:11 |
: Hill, Azolay, Martin
8:11 |
: Who’s the better short-term pickup for steals – Profar, Villar, Santana, or Herrera? And ROS? Standard 5×5 roto league.
8:11 |
: Villar if you need SB
8:12 |
: I’d go with Santana if he ends up hitting
8:12 |
: Brujan or Walls (obp instead of avg)? Thanks!
8:12 |
: Brujan and it’s not close
8:13 |
: Drop Daza for Adames, Herrera, Pinder, or McKinstry?
8:13 |
: Herrera
8:13 |
: Drop ynoa for manoah? Sounds like it would be right
8:13 |
: Yes
8:14 |
: Dylan Moore dropped in my 12 team roto…how much of a spend to stash?
8:14 |
: Min bid if adding at all
8:14 |
: Hi Jeff! OBP league. Could you rank (or pick 2+) of Taylor Walls, Danny Santana, Harold Castro, Maikel Franco, Jose Iglesias? Thank you!
8:15 |
: Santana, Walks, Castro, Franco, Iglesias
8:15 |
: In a 12 team roto mixer w/ 5 OF’s, how would you prioritize spend for Pavin, Naylor, and Hays?
8:15 |
: You have them in the right order
8:16 |
: thoughts on harold ramirez? he was a popular waiver wire pick last week but hasn’t done much since
8:17 |
: I understand the buzz. Pivot to Harold Castro
8:17 |
: Will Cora give Danny Santana a long leash? What % of FAAB is he worth bidding for?
8:17 |
: It seems that way so far and I think wining bids will be fro $50 to 250
8:18 |
: Daulton Jeffries off DL…worthy of a stash?
8:18 |
: Maybe.
8:18 |
: Pitchers coming off the IL have been heading right back on it.
8:18 |
: Any idea who the closer is in Toronto at this point?
8:18 |
: No, what a nightmare
8:19 |
: That bullpen is the black home for FAAB. It just gets sucked away an never useful
8:20 |
: ok so for some reason enrique and danny santana are both available in my 12 team obp league and i want to snatch them but i’m a little hesitant because i already am starting 3 red sox hitters, and i’m worried that i’ll be putting my fate into the hands of a single team. so basically my question is when does stacking become too dangerous?
8:20 |
: The only issue I’ve seen is if the team gets hit with a COVID shutdown (or several players out)
8:21 |
: Just keep adding good players
8:21 |
: How are you feeling about Bader? Last week was pretty rough. Still think he’s worthy of a roster spot in 12 teamers, over guys like Profar, Brian Anderson, Dom Smith and Tapia(playing time)?
8:22 |
: I’m all in and I’m not changing my opinion based on one week
8:22 |
: Thanks for the WW list. Where does Owen Miller fit within your bats?
8:22 |
: Your welcome and Miller would be near the bottom.
8:22 |
: I don’t have no idea what to expect
8:23 |
: feyerisen got a save today with the rays. does that mean anything to u?
8:23 |
: no, it’s what the Rays do
8:24 |
: With news of a bullpen shift away from Valdez in the 9th to setup in BAL, how much of a spend to stash H.Harvey?
8:24 |
: Not much … I’m never going to bet on Harvey contributing … ever.
8:25 |
: When he does get the call, where will Wander be ranked. Would you drop Correa to pick him up
8:25 |
: No and there is the chance TB platoons him.
8:25 |
: Please rank the SP’s: Car Mart, Garret Richards, Bassit, Tony Desclafani, Logan Webb (assuming he’s back soon). Thanks!
8:26 |
: Richards, Disco, Bassit, Web, CMart
8:26 |
: Roster crunch in a single cather 12 teamer, drop G.Sanchez or Narvaez. Last in HRs 🙁
8:26 |
: Gary
8:26 |
: Who would you rather have when health…Framber Valdez or Tony Gonsolin?
8:26 |
: Valdez
8:27 |
: I’m worried that the Dodgers will baby Gonsolin.
8:27 |
: Thoughts on Ian Happ? He was starting to heat up then went on the DL. Is he a must roster? OF only elig in my 14 team pts league.
8:28 |
: He is, for now, he how he performs this upcoming week
8:28 |
: How bullish are you on Hasse? Is he worth it to drop Naravez? 14 team, 1 C league.
8:28 |
: Not that bullish
8:28 |
: Which to cut for Santana? Clint Frazier, locastro, slater
8:29 |
: All are fine to get but I’d go Locastro
8:29 |
: That’s it for this week.
8:29 |
: I need to check in on my FAAB bids

Can you rank Andujar, Santana, and Bader for me, over the same 4-6 weeks (HTH league)?
