Hobbs: Who do you like the rest of the season better in a 14 team head to head categories league?  Austin Riley or Matt Carpenter.  I am torn.  My pitching is awesome and Glasnow came back.  I don’t want to cut him so I am going to 1 bench hitter from 2.  Carpenter is 1B, 2B, 3B and Riley is 3B, OF.  Thank you!

Jeff Zimmerman: I think it’s Carp because Riley is only facing lefties.

Guest: In a head-to-head league currently in the playoffs, 3 max pickups per week and 5×5 with QS instead of Ws, do you see any of the following pitchers as immediate adds: Hill, Luzardo, Severino?

Jeff Zimmerman: No, impact from them.

Phil: Thoughts on picking up Dugger and/or Nova for their 2 start weeks? In the semis of a H2H league, categories are Wins, Losses, ERA, WHIP, Ks, QS

Jeff Zimmerman: Not great for either one but I’m leaning Nova

mm43: Need steals and saves and have one spot. Urena from Miami for saves or Moore from Seattle for steals?

Jeff Zimmerman: Moore

Laura: Edman over h dozier this week.  Dozier has a rough week of match ups and Edman has been better of late and a tasty match up in Coors.

Jeff Zimmerman: For sure

James: I know Marte got taken out in the 9th, any word yet as to the severity of his injury? Think he’ll be in the lineup tomorrow?

Jeff Zimmerman: I own him everywhere and got nothing so far. Just search Twitter for any answers.

CC: Was planning to roll with Renfroe as a bench bat to rotate in for this weeks H2H playoff matchup (OBP / SLG, daily lineup moves) but he’s not playing enough! Drop for wil myers, tommy edman, kevin pillar, robby cano, nick solak, or abraham toro?

Jeff Zimmerman: Myers and Edman are in COL so big yes’s. Solak and Pillar should both be owned over Renfroe

Kelly: E5 over JD Davis ROS? Lux over Berti?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes on E5. Lux and Berti are close. Go with Lux for this week but know his playing time could dry up once Muncy returns

CC: Planning my roster for H2H playoffs. Daily roster moves, small bench (4), and limited transactions to prevent streaming. Generally speaking, would you rather have a bench bat to rotate in for off days / guys sitting, or maximize starters and go all in on 2 start pitchers?

Jeff Zimmerman: Points or Roto

Jeff Zimmerman: Makes a huge difference.

Jeff Zimmerman: Usually more pitchers in points and hitter in roto.

Mack: What are your 2020 projections for: Josh Rojas; Verdugo; Grisham?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’ll worry about 2020 projections in the offseason. Six months of nothing going on.

MikeyN: Lost Big Mike for season, $16 of $100 FAAB left. How much would you go on Manaea? No $0 bids.

Jeff Zimmerman: $10. Gives you 2 other moves per week.

James: S. Marte update from one of the Pitt beat writers – wrist sprain (I don’t know how that impacts his status for this week though)

Miles : What do you think of Zack Collins? Low key sleeper for next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: He seems lost, even when not catching. He needs to do something for me to buy in.

Jeff Zimmerman: I think it’ll be Hunter Dozier.

Big Tuna: Who’s your preferred two start SP for next week?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s a rough week with either really good pitchers or scum. The Nova 2-start vs KC and SEA seems decent.

MikeyN: AL Only Roto, need help in all categories except BA. Rank on these guys for overall usefulness? Trumbo, Wendle, Tellez, R Guzman, D Moore

Jeff Zimmerman: Moore, Trumbo, Tellez, Wendle, Guzman

Paul: Save + hold points league try to add more in the last few weeks. How would you prioritize: Justin Wilson, Caleb Furgerson, Brandon Kintzler, Tyler Clippard, Sam Tuilololo

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t know for sure.

Jeff Zimmerman: Clippard is decent but just go off their projections, it is what I would do for an answer.

Mistro: Austin Hays going to get enough playing time in BAL to be a factor down the stretch?

Jeff Zimmerman: It sounds like no. I’d love him to get some but wait and see.

LB: Edman or Cano ROS (2 weeks) in H2H daily lineups?

Jeff Zimmerman: Edman, at least for this week

MikeyN: Think Smeltzer takes over for Pineda? Or does MIN just go with a 4 man+bullpen every 5th day?

Jeff Zimmerman: They’ve farted around with Dobnak starting

Jeff Zimmerman: It could be Smelter.

Jeff Zimmerman: They also need to figure out a way to get Martin out of the rotation. He’s useless right now.

CC: You interested in the patrick sandoval 2 start week (CLE, TB)? Would be him or steven matz, feels like it might be too cute to make that swap

Jeff Zimmerman: If you need Wins and K, make the swap. Otherwise, sit still

Phil: Like Merril Kelly against the Mets tomorrow? Velo has been up past couple starts

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m running him out in several leagues.

Jeff Zimmerman: The bottom 1/3 of SP is so bad right now that Kelly seems decent.

Jeff Zimmerman: While it’s too late for 2019, sign up for Razzball’s weekly projections. It’s less than $1 per week and these questions are easily answered.

Cito’s Mustache: Is Gonsolin still starting for the Dodgers? If he moves to the pen, do you like him over RP like Lugo and N Anderson if I’m just targetting rate stats? (ERA, WHIP in 10-team roto)

Jeff Zimmerman: No on Gonsolin being worth anything in the bullpen. Go with Anderson and Lugo

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe. I think Texas is just going to run LeClerc out to see what they have for next season.

Peanut butter haircuts: Hi Jeff. Al obp league. I’m out ahead on offense (except SB’S) but could use wins. Am I crazy to cut either Gardner or Eloy to stream a starter/follower like Roark, zeuch, or drew verhagen? Is that premature?

Jeff Zimmerman: Go for it now, it’s so tough to gauge Wins. Get them while you can.

Baseballdude: Please rank these hitters for next week utility spot only: Bichette home six games vs bos and nyy, eloy six games vs kc and at Seattle, Santander six games vs dodgers and at tigers

Jeff Zimmerman: They are close. I might go with Santander

Jeff Zimmerman: SEA is a giving everyone a few games and then someone else. They are turning into Tampa. I thought Freeman and Lopes were decent options but not any more.

AL Only Logjam: Standard 12 AL only roto, 9 keepers: I have Leury Garcia ($3), Joey Wendle($1), Myles Straw ($20) and Shed Long ($6). I’m in 3rd and have been making a run. Gotta drop two of these guys, who do you have ROS (I need speed most, but the other counting stats will help). I also have Nick Solak as my last taxi squad guy (I traded all other prospects). Should I activate him or leave him alone for next year?

Jeff Zimmerman: If you can win, go with Garcia and Solak for now. The others are sort of useless. Maybe long can be decent.

Baseballdude: Start two of these: berrios vs nats and at Indians, Merrill kelly at Mets degrom and vs reds, manaea at rangers minor, or minor vs Oakland manaea?

TD: Desclafani, Musgrove or Mahle too risky to help down the stretch in H2H?

Jeff Zimmerman: Depends on other pitchers. I’m using each one in my leagues.

TD: In the semifinala of my H2H playoffs and need pitching help. How would you rank Roark, Bailey, R Lopez, Matz and Houser?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not sure of matchups but Roark, Houser, matz, Bailey, Lopez
