Jeff Zimmerman: I missed on Torres. He should be around the other low power, high speed and average guys like Jake McCarthy

Chip Dipson: How aggressively should I be trying to replace JT Realmuto as my 2nd catcher in a 12 team league. Alternatives right now are Mack, O’Hoppe, Sanchez, Susac.

Jeff Zimmerman: I put Realmuto in the streamer bucket. He might be the best option some weeks, and cut the next. I think Sanchez might be the best option of the four

Chip Dipson: Is Jack Perkins a drop in all formats?

Jeff Zimmerman: Probably, really comes down to how many potential closer are rostered in your league.

JimmyP: Hi Jeff. Have to drop Garrett. Melton, I might not be able to get. But is Miles or Phillips worth chasing?

Jeff Zimmerman: I like Miles quite a bit

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not really high on any of them. I’m sure one will be useful, but they seem like fill-ins.

Desperate for catcher: How do you feel about Bryan Torres as a short term catcher play?

Jeff Zimmerman: What league is he a catcher in? He hasn’t played the position since ’21

Hank: In a non FAAB league with limitless add drops; would you still be interested in prospects and call ups or are most FA probably better suited to roster (13 team).

Jeff Zimmerman: I go after free agents. All but the top prospects fail, so I normally just ignore them.

Guest: steer or schmit over a Vargas hold?

Jeff Zimmerman: Vargas

Waiver dilemma: I have no bench bats and have an injury so need to drop a pitcher. Drop Scott, Mize, Brown, B Miller or Hancock. Waiver wire Schmitt, Holliday or Antonacci. Or just keep an open bat spot.

Jeff Zimmerman: Maybe Antone. Usually, I aim for the most talented pitcher, but all of them have flaws.

Chip Sandsalsa: Do you really think Holliday will be in a platoon once he re-acclimates?

Jeff Zimmerman: I don’t think he’ll re-acclimate. I think he’s on the Jared Kelenic career path.

Mike: Does Colt Emerson’s performance today convince you he can have fantasy relevance this year?

Jeff Zimmerman: I never base a decision on one month, let alone a game. I’m watching his strikeout rate, that shot up this year, for any turn around.

RP help: Would you drop Gus Varland for Senzatela? Deep league 38 man rosters, SVHD. Other options other than Senzatela are Taylor Clarke, Taylor Rogers, Bazardo

Jeff Zimmerman: They are right there together. I might lean Senzatela

Trevor rogers baltimore: What is his ros? Will he be placed on IL? Or never be a starter again?

Jeff Zimmerman: He needs to find a way to get out RHH. Before today, RHH are posting a .925 OPS against him.

Luke Keaschall: Is he gonna play full time moving forward? What are they foing?

Jeff Zimmerman: He needs to hit better than a .625 OPS.

Jeff Zimmerman: The Twins should find someone hitting that hard from the waiver wire.

Chip Sandsalsa: People seem high on Sean Burke but his last few outings have been pretty bad – hold or cut in AL only?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m cutting in one league, but not as deep as AL-only. It really comes down to your replacements

Marc: Having so many strict platoon hitters is killing my offense in 12 team NFBC. I want to drop one to pick up another pitcher. Should I drop Cortes, Antonacci, or Caglianone?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d drop Altuve

GP: With catcher being so dire, would you hold onto Jeffers in a 15 team NFBC and just take a 0 for how long he’s out? Options available are Pages/Caratini/D Romo/M Garver so not much there.

Jeff Zimmerman: You can’t take the zero for two plus months, go with someone hitting for AVG or has a strong weekly projection. You should be able to end up with a decent guy within the month

Bruce & E Street: Is Jeff Hoffman worth a hold (added him Saturday) in a Saves only Roto ?

Jeff Zimmerman: In some leagues, yes. It’s all up to the other closer options

OFs: Would you have Kevin Alcantara ahead of the Pirates OF duo of Valdez and Garcia?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s a bench bat right now, zero fantasy value. I’d take both Pirates. Also, a 66% Contact% in AAA doesn’t usually play.

Jimmy5: Do you see Ballasteros as a platoon bat for the entire season or can he become more?  Kid seems to know how to hit.  Could be a sneaky pick up in leagues where he is catcher eligible

Jeff Zimmerman: As a catcher, he’s solid, drop otherwise with the limited playing time

Jeff Zimmerman: I was never close to rostering him, but I’d be a huge pass. I have him valued as almost a 5.00 ERA talent. Talent like that belongs on the waiver wire.
