Tim: I can’t buy Aquino, he swings at everything and struggles to make contact. I can’t find a comparable player to his 17% SwTrk in AAA at age 25 who went on to MLB success. Baez had the whiffs but at age 21. Gallo similar but at 22 and with exceptional patience. Closest 2019 AAA comp is Brinson. In terms of aggression/contact profile best case comp I find is Renfroe – do you think Aquino can be more and if so, how?

Jeff Zimmerman: You may be right but in all 15-team leagues, there are no Renfroes on the wire. We are happy to Berti and Frazier

Jeff Zimmerman: Don’t know right now. I want to wait until at least the ROS to make a call

Jeff Zimmerman: Not this much but he’s been good before. Maybe to 2015 levels

Jeff Zimmerman: In one NFBC league, I’m really considering cutting Stanton. It would be nice to have the roster spot

Brian: Buster Posey droppable in 15 team NFBC? Can’t trade him, have G.Sanchez/W.Smith as starters – drop for someone like Folty/Civale/Keller/etc?

Jeff Zimmerman: Drop him. It sucks that no trading exists but I’d hold on to the pitching

Jon: Is Kenley Jansen or Roberto Osuna worth dropping for a SPARP like Joe Ross or Adrian Houser in a points league? Both guys hardly pitch bc their teams are so good and have blown up once per week all season. Thanks!

Jeff Zimmerman: Depending on league rules, they could be worth a drop.

Chixie Dix: Looking for your opinion on this…

I sent a trade offer in my roto league (my Mondesi and Mancini for K. Bryant). It was accepted by the other owner. We then receive a message from the commissioner saying the trade will have to be voided as the trade deadline was supposed to be July 31st. According to our league page, it said the deadline was August 23rd.

Other owners not involved think it should go through but the co-commissioners are wanting to find out if one of them changed the deadline date.

Is this a valid trade in your book or should it be vetoed?

Jeff Zimmerman: Valid. What else were you supposed to do but follow the league rules.

Al Avila: Does Spencer Turnbull produce any meaningful fantasy value ROS? Or is he an easy drop with the looming innings limit and marginal peripherals?

Jeff Zimmerman: It all comes down to league depth. In some leagues, owners will need to get everything from him and in others, he waiver wire fodder

Don Juan: Matt Boyd hasn’t had a monthly ERA under 4.7 since May.  Is he essentially strikeouts and garbage? He certainly doesn’t see to be ranked like that by everyone.

Jeff Zimmerman: A lot of his value was anchored to the early start. I see him as a Chris Archer type with just two pitches and therefore the fastball gets hit around.

Cito’s Mustache: Tauchman, JD Davis, Aquino, Sogard, Winker – who is your preference in 10-team 6×6 roto w/ OBP? I’m leading in counting stats, really just need the AVG and OBP boost at this point.

Jeff Zimmerman: In The Process, I looked into projecting Holds. The key was getting the most talented pitcher. Just look up this group’s projections and take the best one. I’m guessing it’s Gallegos.

Brock: I have one utility spot to rotate between Renfroe, Kingery, Choo and Sano. ROS who would you roll with?

Jeff Zimmerman: They are close so you might need to take the one who helps you in the categories you need help with. I’d take Sano in a neutral setting.

My league is a 5×5 (QS and OBP), 12-team, 6 keeper league. Right now, I have Dahl (20th rd keeper cost), Brandon Woodruff (17th rd), and Glasnow (8th rd) all on the DL.

Stanton cannot be kept at all for next season and I don’t know if he will return prior to September. I’m attempting to squeak into the playoffs after injuries destroyed my early season.

Jeff Zimmerman: You might have to drop him. I’m considering it in one of my NFBC leagues

Nickles: So is Aquino the new Wily Mo Pena? Like, as soon as the league makes adjustments, will he be playing in another league in another country?

Jeff Zimmerman: No idea. I’m just enjoying it for now. It could be Wily Mo Pena or Jose Bautista

EvDawg: At what point is Mitch Haniger cuttable in a 12 team roto dynasty?  I have him for 5% of my budget and I have much better long term options in the outfield.  Should I cut him?

Jeff Zimmerman: The price is about right. $13 in a $260 budget league.

Jeff Zimmerman: If going for it this year, drop him. Otherwise, keep him.

Michael : Any idea what’s going on with Grandal’s power?  Thinking of picking up a backup catcher until he figures it out.  Darnaud is available.

Jeff Zimmerman: Catchers can wear down. I’d hold at least and if you have room, bench for d’Arnaud
