Jeff Zimmerman: Some drops in the auction had owner speculating on Saves with Bear Claw

Jeff Zimmerman: I have several players coming back from the waiver wire so I wasn’t a major player.

Rocky: What do you make of Andrew Heaney? 22/4 K/BB is stellar, but he’s still giving up bombs

Jeff Zimmerman: I think this is just who he is. Owners just need to watch his matchups and parks

Marc: How real is this Caleb Smith thing? Had two of the most dominant back o back starts this season we’ve seen from just about anyone.

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s on my to-watch list. I don’t get it at all but the walks are still there.

Wally Pip: Logan Morrison dropped in a 14 team mixed. How much FAAB, and would be dropping Chris Davis for him. Should I?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d stick with Davis. It has been horrible but he has more upside.

Drew: Gohara or Soroka ROS?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m still in the Gohara camp from what he did last season.

Ben Affleck: Any value in Brett Anderson as he looks to be up to start on Wednesday?

Jeff Zimmerman: I could not start him.

EG: 12 team 2 catcher league… Barnes was just dropped. Currently have James McCann as my second catcher. Is Barnes worth the add or do his bad peripherals (high gb rate) keep you away?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s a second catcher. I’d probably take a chance on Barnes.

Chris: What is happening with Domingo Santana?  How much longer should I hold onto him before cutting bait?

Jeff Zimmerman: Everything seems in-line with his past and projections except his .023 ISO. I wonder if he is hurt.

Craig: Keep Aaron Hicks or add Teoscar, LoMo or Pillar?

Jeff Zimmerman: Add Teoscar

Slapshot: 10 team 5×5 roto.  Worth it to add Kevin Pillar and bench Bradley Zimmer right now? Have an empty bench spot so I don’t need to cut anyone to add Pillar right now.

Jeff Zimmerman: Add him. He’s looking like a nice 15-15 hitter.

Mike: Soler or Mac Williamson, who has safer floor for entire year?

Jeff Zimmerman: Sadly Soler. It’ll be interesting to see what the Giants do when Pence returns

JC: 12 team NL only keeper league.  Is Caleb Smith worth a bid this week?

Jeff Zimmerman: Yes …. hell yes

Chris: Worth holding Stroman or sonny gray? Or drop for Foltynewicz?  Thanks

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d drop either for Folty. Probably Stroman but it’s close

Rich: What’s your outlook  on Verdugo. Will he hit for enough power to be relevant in most 12 team leagues?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not in 12. I didn’t even put a bid on him in a 15-team league. Also, I’m not sure how much he’ll play

Dr Ozzie: Is Stroman droppable in 12-teamers? He’s been terrible. Gausman, Tyler Anderson, Cahill, Big Sexy on the wire.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d keep Stroman if those are your options. Now, I would take a chance on Marco Gonzales. Great numbers besides his ERA.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d even take a chance on Caleb Smith over those choices

Rob: 20 team league, I’m dead last, rebuiliding and looking for lottery tickets who could be keepers next year.  Who is my first waiver priority:  Nimmo @ $10, Aledyms Diaz @ $10 , of Stroman @ $19?

Jeff Zimmerman: Stroman. None of these guys are more than $.50 pull tab tickets

Gypsy: If he sticks in the rotation, what’s a realistic outlook for Nick Kingham? He did have some prospect sheen a few years ago.

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m not sure where he stands as his prospect reports keep changing. I’m going to watch him and then decide. Owners may not have that option and need to put out a bid and hope he’s good.

Gary: I can keep two of these three: Asuaje, Difo or Prado. Which two would you keep?

Jeff Zimmerman: Difo and Prado

Jeff: I need pitching and have a deep offense, worth dropping Gardner for Soroka?

Jeff Zimmerman: Sure

Propecting: Kyle Tucker…how legit is he? Could you offer a comp?

Jeff Zimmerman: Looks to be a legit regular with varying degrees of upside

Leo Arguello: In 15×15 stats league. Candelario, Cordero, T Austin or Davidson?

Jeff Zimmerman: Davidson. The HR power seems legit

Chris: Better add: Eugenio Suàrez or Gregory Polanco

Jeff Zimmerman: Suarez for me. Polanco may give you a few more steals

Jesper Parnevik: Keep Aaron Hicks or pick up Peralta or Brantley from the waiver wire?

Jeff Zimmerman: Brantley

Propecting: Will Michael Kopech make it as a starting pitcher at the big league level or is he more likely to become a high leverage bullpen arm?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s either going to make it as a starter. If not, he’ll be a closer. Great downside

Keith: For this upcoming week only, how would you rank Alen Hanson, Mac Williamson, and Brandon Nimmo?

Jeff Zimmerman: With guys this far down and not knowing the matchups, I’m going to defer to the Ruby Gamble at Razzball.com. I think his weekly forecasts are the best and worth every penny

George: Drop Luis Castillo in 10-team, right?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think so. Maybe see if someone will take him in trade

Alex: Hold onto Carpenter in a 10 team mixed league?

Jeff Zimmerman: It really comes down to the other options.

Nelly: does Ryu Dodgers keep this up?

Jeff Zimmerman: He’s a good pitcher … when healthy. Ride the hot streak.

Adam G: Reynaldo Lopez can’t get a W is he worth rostering in a 6×6?

Jeff Zimmerman: Pitchers with equal talent but on good and bad teams should only project for a 3-win swing. Buy the talent and don’t chase wins.

Nelly: What is wrong with Luke Weaver?

Jeff Zimmerman: After a quick look, he’s just not throwing strikes leading to walks being up and strikeouts down. It’s tough to know exactly why.

SP Bin: Add Tyson Ross or Kyle Gibson?

Jeff Zimmerman: Ross. He looks back

Milton: Jon Schoop worth rostering in 10-team mixed with a hope for health?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think so. He’s a top 10 2B going into the season.

NCKLM: 12tm 5×5 SP: Flaherty, JorMont, Faria, Pivetta.  Gohara is on my wire.  So is Caleb Smith.  Who goes? (or do nothing)

Jeff Zimmerman: I’d swap Faria for Gohara similar talent and the Braves are a better team. I’d swap Monty for Smith if you need K’s and can handle a hit to your WHIP

Chet: Is Kepler a must add in 6×6 (walks) 12 teams ?

Jeff Zimmerman: Some team should own him, it just may not be yours

Big Tuna: Time to cut bait on Barnes in saves leagues with Knebel about to begin rehab assignment?

Jeff Zimmerman: I did.

Big Tuna: Who’s your preferred FAAB rookie tonight between Soroka and Kingham and how much would you spend on either?

Jeff Zimmerman: Soroka. And it’s going to take 10% IMO, If your league has the setup bid on both.

DL King: I have Puig, Myers, and Panik in a very deep NL only 5×5. Thoughts on Alen Hanson? Kiki H? Can bring Dahl off reserve for one spot and just hope he keeps some PT for one slot.

Jeff Zimmerman: This is why I try to stay away from this deep of league. I feel some regulars should be available. Go with Hanson

Big Tuna: Colome hit hard again. Are you picking up Roe or Romo in any leagues with TB looking competitive?

Jeff Zimmerman: I would and I think it is Romo. Experience and TB won’t want to give a young guy Saves to keep his Arb numbers down

Andy: Should i start Faria against Det tomorrow?

Jeff Zimmerman: If you aren’t starting him then, you might as well drop him for a pitcher you feel good about starting.

Keith: In a fairly deep roto league with fixed weekly rosters, who do you prefer for next week between Mac Williamson (will he be recovered from concussion on Tuesday when eligible to come off DL?) or Brandon Nimmo (will he get a shot with Bruce playing some 1B or Cespedes possibly missing time with a thumb injury)? Need to decide tonight. Thanks.

Jeff Zimmerman: Nimmo. I’d hate to guess the concussion return times.

Kuff: What % faab on M Andujar in 5×5 non keep but use obp instead of avg?  Thx!

Wendell: Any arms much better in QS leagues than W leagues that could be undervalued?

Jeff Zimmerman: The Shark (Jeff Samfaesklfadjiuna), Porcello, and Stroman.  Look for guys who have always gone long into games.

Jeff Zimmerman: Semien unless you really need to gamble on steals

Mark: In an NFBC league where you lost Andrus to injury and have Ketel Marte filling in, how much would you bid on Torres? $1000 budget

Jeff Zimmerman: 300 to 600. It’s a 15-team league and how many impact players do you expect to get called up? 10? That is not even one per team.

Derek: Do you think Gsellman ends up in the rotation?

Jeff Zimmerman: I do but for some reason, most of the Mets rotation is staying healthy. It’s weird.

Co: Drop kingery or Mancini for teoscar? Bid?

Jeff Zimmerman: It’s Kingery but I would try to trade him first. Someone probably still likes his potential, especially the SB.

Brian: How much would you spend on Knebel in an NFBC 12 team?  I have Hand and Allen as my closers but need more saves as well as the Ks and ratios.

Jeff Zimmerman: From what I’ve seen (15 teamers), it takes about 33% for a closer

Richard : 16 team redraft. Flaherty is my #7 SP. on WW Cahill Triggs Gibson Leake or Betances or Steckinrider. Who gets the nod…or just keep Flaherty in the 1 bench slot we have?

T-Bone: What are your thoughts on Conforto? Absolutely no power to speak of so far. How long until it’s time to jump ship?

Jeff Zimmerman: I’m a Conforto fan but he may need to head to the bench or become trade bait

ThePrince: Seriously, did I miss something?  Soroka isn’t being called up, is he?

Jeff Zimmerman: Not officially. He was pulled from his start to possibly throw early in the week for someone who has a nagging injury.

Scott: Drop Dietrich for Adam Frazier, Verdigo or Hanson? Galvis for Torres?

Jeff Zimmerman: Drop Galvis for Torres now. Don’t worry about the other untalented players

Jake: Need to drop either Stroman, pomerantz or Estrada in 10 team AL only. Your choice?

Jeff Zimmerman: Stroman if you have to. I could be talked into Estrada

Jake: Is Brandon belt worth dropping for teoscar?

Jeff Zimmerman: I think so

TradeDeadline: Puig dropped in my league. It’s a 12 Team Roto keep 10 and I’m rebuilding. His salary would become whatever FAAB is used on him. So, out of $90 available, would you spend some on him? (It would mean dropping Matt Carpenter, then finding someone else to replace Puig while he is on the DL, per the specific rules of my league)

Jeff Zimmerman: If Carp is a drop, then you probably already have 10 keepers and Puig is borderline 10th rounder in a 12 team league.

Aaron: I started Samardzija and Taillon a few days ago and my ERA went up by half a run.  Now that I’m in an ERA hole I’m considering loading up on relievers (SP/RP) and only rolling out my top 3 guys (Syndergaard, Severino, and Paxton) until June and spot start good matchups.  Thoughts?  Feel like I can stream to meet my IP cap at pretty much any point of the year

Jeff Zimmerman: Just be careful to not fall too far behind in K and W. I was over a run out of 14th place to start the week and am now 11th after one good week

Derek: How much FAAB would you use on Frenchy in a 12 team NFBC league?

Rawr…: What’s the best way to deal with a trade crazy league? Stand pat and trust my preseason process?

Jeff Zimmerman: Look for deals and jump on them. Find the BABIP outliers with pitcher and hitters.
