Starting Pitcher Chart – September 29th

The chart includes their season performance, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness over the last 30 days, my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues, and then a note about them. Obviously, there are league sizes beyond those three so it’s essentially a shallow, medium, deep. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s basically a risky stream for those spots.

These are general recommendations, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. This is for standard 5×5 roto leagues. The thresholds for H2H starts are generally lower, especially in points leagues so I thought there would be more value focusing on roto.

Kikuchi is going instead of Ryu, so I just edited the post – I didn’t remake the table (not just being lazy, I’m about to record the pod but I want to get Kikuchi updated before record) which is why his 2-x slot appears below a 1-x guy.

I know they just cooked Yarbs, but I’m not SUPER afraid of the Rockies even at home. It’s also a bit of a scary board in general, IMO

Is Winn worth the risk starting today? I’m currently in a 3-way tie for second place in total K’s. Can afford a few runs given up but not a total shelling today

It’s prettyyyy risky against LA despite him being pretty solid this year. I’d be too worried.

I’ve convinced myself to put him in to try and get a few Ks without screwing up my ERA/WHIP too bad.

Winn has actually been decent and FIP and xFIP back that up, as well as his Stuff+LA just played @COL so they might feel some reverse Coors effectSF is one of the hardest parks to hit a HR inBased on his game log, SF isn’t going to leave him in to get shelled and give up 8 runs in 2 IP or something like that *knocks on wood*

Protecting an era lead (for now) and have a slight k lead. Have Hendricks, Sanchez tomorrow and Wacha tomorrow. Would you throw Hendricks and be comfortable? Or bench either of the others?

His road split is better. But I noticed no check mark across smaller leagues. Thank you!

Yeah I’m not sure there’s been a worse 3-x reco ALL YEAR than Rodon’s start. Ryan, I knew the risk, but still felt comfortable taking the risk
