Welcome to the Daily SP Chart, click here if you’re new to get an idea of what I’m doing with these rankings.
- With such little time left, everything is heavily based on your particular situation so if you have any specific questions, drop a comment and I’ll help the best I can!
- Baz is 2-6 in his L8, but he hasn’t been bad – 4.21 ERA/1.19 WHIP/15% K-BB… decent matchup, but NYM is 2nd in wOBA over the L30 days
- LAA’s arms have flipped on a dime since Mike Maddux’s departure and Johnson’s been a big part of that (2.15 ERA/1.00 WHIP in his L5) despite a modest 7% K-BB, but the Ks are up in his L2 with 11 in 12 IP (17% K-B at PIT, at BOS) giving me more confidence to run him here.
- After a huge swoon followed by an IL stint, Martin has returned with a pair of solid outings, though just 4 Ks in the 10.7 IP. The CLE matchup helps with my confidence in him.
- Gilbert has back-to-back 10+ K games, though he still allowed 7 ER v. ATH because of 4 HRs.
- Pérez has truly had an excellent season, but starting anyone v. CHC is very scary, especially with so little time left in the season, so I wouldn’t blame anyone from skipping this just to protect against a potential blowup.
- Jax had a Dud immediately off the IL (2.7 IP/6 ER) but rebounded with a solid outing at ATL (5 IP/1 ER), but still had just 2 Ks.
- I want to like Pallante more and his 2.35 ERA/1.17 WHIP in the 2H are great, but just an 8% K-BB and the low W probability (2-o in his 8 2H starts) give me some pause.

Intro
The chart includes their performance for 2026, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness, and recently added opponent’s K% (also v. SP handedness), my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues – essentially a shallow, medium, deep league setup – and then a note about some, most, or all depending on the day. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s a much riskier stream for those spots.
These are general recommendations for standard 5×5 roto leagues, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. I usually won’t have much to write about aces who are locked into our rotations. If you want to discuss someone further, please feel free to leave a comment. I usually do a few sweeps of the comments before game time in case there are time-sensitive questions.
Color Coding:
- Green – Good Matchup (lower OPS output by SP opponent) – 21st to 30th
- Yellow – OK – 11th to 20th
- Red – Bad – 1st to 10th
Wind:
CLE – out to center at 10
Wrigley – across from L to R at 6
Coors – out to L at 8
Rain:
Wrigley – 25-30% all day
STL – 64% to start, 35-40% the rest of the night. They play again tomorrow and both have Thursday off
Coors – 20%-ish all day
The Giants may be 11th against RHP over the last 30 days, but much of that has to be Devers’ insane .507 wOBA over the last 30.
OK, that was against all pitching. Using the Splits Leaderboard, Devers has an even more insane .666 wOBA vs RHP over the last 30. Among the other Giants with more than 30 PA against RHP over the last 30, Eldridge has a .345 wOBA and Drew Gilbert a .344. Everyone else is under a .300 wOBA. Drop it to 20 PA and Knizner has also thumped over the last 30 with a .433 wOBA against RHP, but he’s also the same Andrew Knizner that has a career .266 wOBA.
In related news, Devers is done for the season.
The Giants are my main streaming target the rest of the way.
I’m no Pallante stan but he keeps it on the ground, does a decent job limiting hard contact and is pitching at home in a pretty good pitchers’ park.
(I started to post that the Cards also have one of the top defenses, but Wetherholt is out the rest of the year which really hurts their defense. . .)
Oh that’s a great point, def adds to my confidence with Pallante!!
Digging in a little more, the Giants’ lineup is: 2 legit (albeit average) major leaguers in Eldridge and Lee; 1 kind of semi-promising prospect that is still young enough to still say maybe in Gilbert; and 11 castoffs, throw-ins, and low draft picks that are non-prospects. They even feature one UDFA in Hill which isn’t usually a baseball term but a football term because guys that go undrafted don’t make the majors much.
OOPSY has Eldridge and Lee right around a 100 wRC+ ROS, but the rest of the lineup has 4 guys under a 90 wRC+ and 3 guys under an 80 wRC+. (& the BATX is even less optimistic than that)
The Giants right now are basically the answer to “What if you ran a minor league team out there against major league pitching?”.
I love baseball, she’s so stupid!
Great call fading this Kade Anderson two-step repeatedly, I was anchored to the MiLB year he posted, and the siren song of the two-start week! Coors start may hurt… Hope you are well my friend!
Speaking of, I’m really eager to see what this otherwise uninspiring MLB sample does to his draft price. It won’t tank it at NFBC, they group is too smart for that, but he should be pretty affordable… at least in the fall/winter. If he looks hot in spring, he’ll be a huge helium guy, IMO
Where would soroka rank? I believe he is starting for AZ
He’s only opening, though, right? Do we think he gets enough IP?
He got 4 IP last time with 58 pitches. Are they planning to add as he goes? If so, I can see it in deeper lgs but definitely high risk
I think he’s replacing gallen in the rotation and presumably good to go 75+ pitches
Not only did he pitch 5, but he Gallen didn’t even go!! Sorry I didn’t originally include him. We had it listed as Opener-Soroka/Follower-Gallen so I was worried he’d be a 3-4 IP guy
I know the peripherals suggest Gausman has had bad luck, but it’s mid-September, and he has a 4.60 ERA on the year, and a 5.91 ERA in his last 6 starts. I don’t know that positive regression is guaranteed, and I’m not betting it does against the Braves offense.
Totally fair. I should’ve highlighted him more as a Wins chase since that offense has been blazing hot so even a 5-6 IP outing 4-5 ER could net the dub
Got by on a knife’s edge yesterday starting Mize at Coors, and have H Brown, F Griffin, and D Anderson going today… Anderson is definitely the one I’m most concerned about. Blue Jays have been meh overall, but seem to be hitting a bit of a stride lately. 16 team H2H here, so the FA pickings are pretty slim.
I think DA can have a nice outing if he avoids too many walks. TOR is last vR on the year, but up to 14th over the L30 (still just 9%, though). He gets in trouble when he expands innings with the free passes. Griffin might be scarier after his Dud last time out and a good White Sox team facing him but he was coming off a string of 5 strong before BAL bombed him out so I’m inclined to still stick w/him, espec. in 16-teamer. Good luck!!
As Meatloaf taught us, 2 outta 3 ain’t bad!! Brown excellent, Anderson v good, and Griffin was actually fine, but just 4 IP!
