- Pérez not only keeps dropping gems, but super gems! He has 4 straight QS, going 7 IP in two of ’em and allowing a total of 5 ER across 26 IP. He has come out of the other end of that injury looking as good as ever.
- I gave Hancock the full reco at LAD so I’m definitely doing the same for Miller, who has been even better. Hancock was just OK at 5 IP/3 ER/5 Ks with 9 base runners. Miller has been hit in 2 of 3, both of the road, underscoring his gaudy venue-based ERA split: 0.95 at home | 4.02 on the road. He still has a healthy 18% K-BB and 1.14 WHIP on the road so even if we get a baseline QS (6 IP/3 ER), we’d be happy.
- Burke has had a wonderful season that has hit another level in the summer with an electric K% surge over his L11: 2.49 ERA/1.04 WHIP/24% K-BB, powered by a 33% K rate.
- I don’t think I’m sitting Gray at ATH as he’s just been so good this year. I’m trying not to let Sandoval’s gem influence me (5 IP/2 ER/7 Ks) and instead leaning on Gray for his merit.
- Ray is running super hot right now, posting a 1.04 ERA in his L7 despite his WHIP being even higher at 1.18 and a truly poor K-BB of just 9%. That said, SDP doesn’t seem like the team to issue him some regression on those paltry skills so he remains firmly entrenched in the rotation.
- Sasaki and Weathers seem to be Gem or Dud every time with no rhyme or reason to which is coming when.
- Woo in for Miller and his home/road splits are enough to pull outta this entirely for me.
- Eovaldi out with Cole Winn opening & Marco Gonzales (yes, that one!) following!

Intro
The chart includes their performance for 2026, their opponent’s wOBA versus the pitcher’s handedness, and recently added opponent’s K% (also v. SP handedness), my general start/sit recommendation for 10-team, 12-team, and 15-team (or more) leagues – essentially a shallow, medium, deep league setup – and then a note about some, most, or all depending on the day. If a pitcher only has an “x” in 15-team, it doesn’t mean there’s no potential use in 10s and 12s, but it’s a much riskier stream for those spots.
These are general recommendations for standard 5×5 roto leagues, and your league situation will carry more weight whether you are protecting ratios or chasing counting numbers. I usually won’t have much to write about aces who are locked into our rotations. If you want to discuss someone further, please feel free to leave a comment. I usually do a few sweeps of the comments before game time in case there are time-sensitive questions.
Color Coding:
- Green – Good Matchup (lower OPS output by SP opponent) – 21st to 30th
- Yellow – OK – 11th to 20th
- Red – Bad – 1st to 10th
Woo for Mariners, Miller pushed back to Friday.
Oh no! Woo is in my OC lineup. I thought he was pitching at home this week. Praying hard for a rainout.
Is Cole Winn going for the Rangers today or Eovaldi?
Per the Rangers it’s Winn.
Is it Marco Gonzalez as PRIM for Tex?
MIssed a couple days but the weather is back!
Not much today
Wind:
MIN – across from R to L at 10
Sutter Health – out to L at 8 in a minor league park. Hot too – 91* to start
Rain:
NYM – 35% to start, 9% by mid-game
TY for all the insights!
Not a pitcher question, but curious what you all think of trading Isaac Paredes (1b/3b) for Xavier Edwards (2b/ss) in a dynasty league? My 3bs are Muncy, Edman, Andrew Vaughn ad Kyle Karros (not a great group) (I have TONS of 1Bs)
My MIs are: Arraez, Edman, Masyn Winn, Jeremy Pena (very thin). I do have Gelof (2b/3b) on the IL which is fine…
I kind of like the move but didnt realize how thin my team is at 3b. I guess it’s even thinner at SS, running Winn out there when Pena was hurt was rough and there are no SS options. I also feel like Paredes is really only suited for HOU and they seemed to not have enough ABs for everyone when Correa was healthy. He’s also older. That said, it’s a points league and the power is nice albeit he hasnt outproduced Edwards on a per-game basis by much more than .4 points or so….
I didn’t realize Paredes is only 6 months older than Edwards. I think I would not make the trade though. Edwards is going to be 27 soon and you don’t know how that speed is going to age as he gets into his late 20s/early 30s. You never quite know how a logjam will change in an offseason so I wouldn’t make a dynasty trade based upon how things look right now.
