RotoGraphs Audio: The Sleeper and the Bust 3/31/2015 – OF Preview, Pt. 1

Episode 210

The latest episode of “The Sleeper and the Bust” is live!

In this episode, Paul Sporer and Eno Sarris have news about Anthony Rendon, Ryan Rua, Justin Verlander, Wil Myers, Carlos Rodon, and Domonic Brown before kicking off the Outfielder Preview.

I broke the guys up into a series of groupings similar to what we did with pitchers and then we talked about a couple or all in each group.

Hello:

I am in a 12-team, seven player keeper league and was offered Mike Trout for Jose Bautista, Kris Bryant and Craig Kimbrel. I won my league last year and drafted Bryant in the first round (8th round overall) with my first pick. My thinking is that I probably would have traded Bautista and Kimbrel along with a first rounder for Trout before the draft started, but now it seems like a massive over-payment at this point, especially with all the hype surrounding Bryant. I also have Evan Longoria and Matt Carpenter (but I can only play two of them at a time). The guy I”m trading with has Anthony Rendón as his third basemen and I think he’s desperate given his injury status. Should I wait and see what Bryant does when he comes up? I think long-term having Trout would be nice, but moving all those assets for him would weaken my chances to win again this year. Below is my team.

1. (1) Paul Goldschmidt  (Ari – 1B)
2. (24) José Bautista  (Tor – 1B,OF)
3. (25) Evan Longoria  (TB – 3B)
4. (48) Carlos Santana  (Cle – C,1B,3B)
5. (49) Aroldis Chapman  (Cin – RP)
6. (72) Craig Kimbrel  (Atl – RP)
7. (73) Dellin Betances  (NYY – RP)
8. (96) Kris Bryant (ChC – 3B)
9. (97) Jake Arrieta (ChC – SP)
10. (120) Brett Gardner (NYY – OF)
11. (121) Glen Perkins (Min – RP)
12. (124) Neil Walker (Pit – 2B)
13. (129) Matt Carpenter (StL – 3B)
14. (144) Leonys Martín (Tex – OF)
15. (145) Taijuan Walker (Sea – SP)
16. (157) Danny Duffy (KC – SP,RP)
17. (168) Wil Myers (SD – OF)
18. (169) Drew Hutchison (Tor – SP)
19. (172) Brett Cecil (Tor – RP)
20. (192) Shelby Miller (Atl – SP)
21. (193) Rusney Castillo (Bos – OF)
22. (216) Jhonny Peralta (StL – SS)
23. (217) Danny Salazar (Cle – SP)

Thanks for your time.
