Need help with a last minute keeper decision. 12 team mixed league with auction draft that counts AVG and OPS. Who do I keep? Joc Pederson for $1, Bruce for $9, or JD Martinez for $4?
Do you guys feel SS is a position to punt?, meaning just grabbing some1 down on the bottom. And is there a any Hitter position you feel you can wait on besides 3B?
Not really a punt I think. Maybe you create a Tulo, Ramirez, or Desmond with 2 different players and your opportunity cost is losing a bench spot to something better that could help in a weaker position. But… seems like SS would be the weak spot so you’ve optimized.
If I don’t get a “top tier” SS then I’d focus on getting Jimmy Rollins. Batting top of lineup. Has a bit of power. Good team. Plays at Coors. Dodgers like to steal. I really really like Semien. He’s 2B/3B already in Yahoo and will get SS too. Feel like he could be a really useful player. Like this year’s Danny Santana if Semien can hit early in the lineup.
IDK if I’d “punt” a position, but I’d prob. take a high-floor guy if I could. I think Asdrubal’s a good choice this season if he’s gonna hit 3rd as he has been in the preseason. There’s not a lot of upside to be had and a lot of guys are samey in the lower tiers. Just take someone who plays 150 games and won’t hit .210 randomly lol
Hey guys I have a keeper question:
Standard 5×5 Head to head league with OBP replacing Average. I need to pick two keepers out of: Carlos Santana, Kipnis, Bruce, Machado, Votto, and Kluber. I am already keeping Stanton, Puig, and Harper. Thanks!

Pitching Strategy… Do I give myself a legite shot with this strategy???
15 team roto. Snake draft. Innings Cap. Catagories are W / L / SV / K / ERA / WHIP.
Really really want to get Chapman and Holland early. Pick up other elite non-closing RP and also RP/SP to max out K/IP to help with counts and ratios. Then wait to draft SPs late. Doug Fister, Lackey, Fiers, Hammel, Hhan, etc.
Basically, kind of, punt Wins but not enough to tank. Would stream SPs as needed to take my shots on good matchups.
This would leave me to score the best potential hitting available. Theoretically speaking.

What is your feeling on taking Tulo at #10 in a shallow league? I keep hearing that the larger the league, the less you want to gamble on Tulo. Does that mean in an 8 team league I should be more open to reaching on Tulo? Or do I aim for a Bautista if he is there (not that he is a guarantee to be healthy)?
Yes, Brian, I’d definitely consider him at 10 in a shallow league. He’s definitely a first-rounder in a 10-teamer and probably so in an 8-teamer, too.
I think Eno has it right… the bigger the league, the less you’d wanna gamble *especially* at scarce positions. The drop-off from Miggy to someone like Adam Lind is not as precipitous as the dropoff is from Tulo to, say, Brad Miller or Chris Owings. Stands to reason that it’s simply harder to replace the position-scarce type guys
